Mio Nonno Trattoria - Flower Mound
crispy fried, spicy tomato sauce
golden beets, arugula, goat cheese, lemon vinaigrette
bolognese, ricotta, mozzarella, pomodoro sauce
Terrible service. Dirty dishes left on table. No drink or water refills, check took 15 minutes to receive and another 15 min to complete transaction. We felt ignored
Great dinner last night with friends. Awesome food and service. Only recommended improvement is the hard, rather small chairs (like a short bar stool with a back and no cushion). These become a little uncomfortable at the end of a meal.
All in all our favorite for the consistently great food and service.
Food was excellent. Very loud and crowded. Waiter was a bit strange and annoying.
great experience, not 100% sold on food but will continue to try new dishes till I find something I love
Same with others in the party
Lovely night to sit out on the patio. We have eaten at Mio Nonno several times, but last night was the best!!! The food was absolutely wonderful. We had the Sea Bass special and it was delicious. Awesome to go on a Wednesday, as it is Wine Wednesday. We were able to get 2 bottles of wine for the price of 1. Absolutely a wonderful evening!
The server should give the prices of specials when listing them. We expected them to be in same neighborhood as the regular meals, however, the one special that was ordered was twice as much. It was a shock when we got the bill.
Awesome food from a local spot. Mio Nonno is very consistent. My wife's eggplant was amazing and the Calamari and sauce are my favorite. If you live in Flower Mound this is a can't miss for a casual dinner out.
Service was fair, in his defense he might have been new.
The wine prices are a little excessive for the tiny glasses that they serve.
We love this place and eat here once a week.
They have gluten free pasta for my daughter & my son loves the lobster ravioli! All the food is wonderful!
Tonight we celebrated my daughters birthday & it was also the owners birthday so he spent several minutes getting to know us @ our table. Thank you Noti for taking the time to say Happy Birthday to my daughter. Hope to see you soon‼️❤️❤️
The wait was about 25min on Sunday around 11:30a but they have a sign at hostess stand letting folks know about staffing issues. Problem with wait seemed more about the hostess who sat us didn’t let our waiter know we were there? Or maybe we sat in an open station and no one knew to take our table? No matter, we still loved it and will be back!
The staff were excellent, busy but kept friendly and focused. All 4 of us enjoyed our meal.
We had tried the Allen location and loved it. This location has a more modern upscale look - nice change. The food was amazing as always! I love that we are able to eat lunch at this location. We will definitely be returning!
Food was AMAZING. Beautifully blended flavors in authentic Italian dishes.
Food was very good. We both had chicken parm and it was cooked perfectly. The server offered constant excuses for his inattentiveness every time he came to the table. We weren’t interested and it made it sound like the restaurant is poorly run. There was a lot of waiting for service and once food arrived there was a long time before being checked on again. I would maybe try again because I enjoyed the food and I know how hard it is to find good help.
Excellent food and great service. The menu was not huge but had plenty to choose from and a creative diverse selection of dishes. There were enough vegetarian dishes to choose from as well.
The food was wonderful, as was our wait staff and the bartenders are awesome at their craft. They need to re work their hostesses though as they are clearly very limited in skills and did not do a good job of handling arriving guests. We are excited to return for other menu items.
Servers are nice but not knowledgeable about the menu and the wine menu.
Bread was hard and dry and cold, rest of the food was good!!
Once again, Mio Nonno did not disappoint. The Diavolo pizza was perfectly spiced. I love the touches of goat cheese. It wasn't overpowering and stood up well with the spicy Italian sausage. Salads, pasta and service were excellent as always!
Close to home and a lovely meal with the best service. David was outstanding and one of the best waiters we've had at Mio Nonno. Wish the tables and chairs were more comfortable inside and also sported the white linens. We're usually seated on the patio and the tables, chairs and white linens make it special and much more comfortable. Otherwise, we enjoyed our dining experience and recommend Mio Nonno Trattoria!
Excellent as always.
Very Good and $4 Martini Night
Outstanding! Great service and excellent food. Highly recommend.
Our party of 4 was there close to 2 hours and never got our meals. We were told a problem with the ticket printing for the kitchen and our order ticket didn’t make it so parties that came in after us got their food, including two large parties.
We did cancel our order and got our beverages comped. The waiter tried, he seemed frustrated overall as he wouldn’t be making much in tips.
This is the 2nd time we have had bad service. So disappointing.
Always amazing food, friendly service, and the best ambiance
Great food and service, however the restaurant was VERY warm. They keep the patio door open, that plus the pizza oven makes the back half of the restaurant quite toasty. The patrons on the patio in the middle of July were more comfortable than the patrons inside.
Very pleasant outside.
The good news: the main courses were very good. The bad news: virtually everything else. The young greeter was full of attitude. The noise level was extreme; very difficult to carry on a conversation. The restaurant was busy, but there were open tables. We ordered a drink. A few minutes later, we ordered an appetizer. The appetizer made it to the table before the cocktails. I asked for a very dry martini. What I received was drowning in vermouth. The waiter apologized for the slow service, but apologies do not make up for the lousy service. There are too many other good choices to bother returning to this establishment.
One of the best places for Italian in Denton county.
We sat on the patio. Service was wonderful. Food and wine was good. Next time I'll go on a Wednesday - 1/2 price bottles of wine!
The very generous portion of veal marsala did not disappoint. Be sure and try to Mario’s pasta too in a rich and creamy sauce -to die for.
Paul was so attentive, funny and patient with us. I would request him if you can.
Restaurant is a bit loud inside but a very fun atmosphere!
Delicious lasagna , ok margarita pizza ! Quality ingredients great atomosphere
The food and service were great. Only negative is it was too hot we’re we sat which was by the back door for a table of 6.
Simply awesome experience! We were visiting from out of town on business and found this to be a local gem!
The food was excellent and service great until we waited long fir dessert to arrive ???? Server Jagger was very pleasant and knowledgeable. We enjoyed him very much
The only real complaint was it was way too hot , making the experience uncomfortable
We have visited this restaurant twice; the first visit was pre-pandemic. We had the same waiter, Hunter, and the exact same experience. Their food is delicious but the kitchen is very slow. At both dinners we received our first course fairly quickly, but we were seated over an hour before our main course entrees arrived. We are certain the issue is slowness in the kitchen and/or poor management, not our server, although this evening he did not tell us about any specials. The reason I know there were some specials is because I overheard another waiter telling his table about them. We will not go back to Mio Nonno unless we get carryout. It's a shame they cannot or will not correct their slow service because the restaurant is attractive, it is in a good location and the food is very good. We felt neglected and that is certainly a huge negative for a sit down restaurant experience.
Service was terrible. Drinks were painfully slow to arrive. Appetizer was ok but not warm. Veal looked like a dog threw it up on the plate. It too was not hot or even warm. Flavor was not good at all. Sea Bass was burned and overcooked but again, served not even warm. We should've sent back both our main courses. I've eaten here many times and this is the worst experience we have had. We won't be going back. To add insult to injury the check never came and we had to chase down the waiter inside then he stands there while we fill out the check and says he is sorry that they gave him too many tables.
Food was excellent. Service was not great. The food made up or it
Mio Nonno is consistently one of the best choices for relaxed and enjoyable dining in the area. The food is exceptional and the service is always top notch. Highly recommend this restaurant.
