Mio Nonno Trattoria - Flower Mound
Temporarily open from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm, thank you for your understanding.
Laid-back eatery serving wood-fired pizzas, classic & updated Italian fare, wine & cocktails.
Food is incredible! The only negative I can say, is that this is not the place to go if you want social distancing. Hopefully this won’t be an issue for much longer.
Took a while to get one of our plates. Manager was proactive and comped that part of the meal. Overall it was great!
Ending a week with rolling power outages and freezing temperatures, the place was packed!! The food was delicious, as always. Service was great, not in a hurry to get us out as we sometimes feel. We actually had plenty of time to converse with our dinner companions. Thank you!
Great food and service. Went on $4 martini night. Tables a little too close together . And noise level was high -several large parties sat back to back. Although we sat several tables away from the door, we felt quite a cold breeze every time the door opened.
Our special date night dinner was fantastic at Mio Nonno in Flower Mound. Our server was Ian, and he did a great job and recommended a spicy pasta dish called was outstanding. We really enjoyed our evening. Thank you.
Our waiter Michael was great. He was also careful to keep his mask on over his mouth and nose.
Many of the waiters were not doing that.
Overall amazing! Blake our server was helpful and personable. My husband loves the chicken piccata but sadly this time it was tasteless and didn’t seem like the meat was sautéed, no lemon flavor and he had to add salt for any flavor. It seemed more like it was dredged in flour and poured sauce over it. My dish was the seabass with a Mediterranean sauce that was delicious.
Our server took the piccata and brought out the lasagna for my hubs and he was very pleased.
The live music from the guitar players and the atmosphere were so lively. A perfect Saturday night date with my hubby.
Food and service was very good. My only critique is the music programming. One minute they have a great vibe like I would expect from NY or Chicago restaurant and the next minute they put on Havanagila (spelling sorry)
Stick with the city vibe music programming, would be my recommendation. I’ve shared this comment with others and shockingly ever person I mention is like yes I know, the music was too loud or just off. Vibe is really important if you really want to compete with restaurants outside of Flower Mound. Wishing the restaurant much success.
The only complaint we have is that the social distancing is bad really BAD we actually need to tell a couple that train to be seated next to us and was no even 1 or 2 feet apart from our table !!!
On there website they mention that social distancing is implemented but not that night when we were dining there !!! COVID-19 is serious issue so they need to work on that so the restaurant keep doors open !
Service and food was Good !
Great experience and outstanding food!
Great place, really good service, but the food is just ok.
The waitstaff was pleasant and anticipatory of our needs.
Great for date night as well as a lunch date. Food is amazing and service/atmosphere are great!
Pre NYE. Early dinner, we had the outdoor patio area to ourselves and it was nice!!
Great food. Service was a little slow but our server had a great personality! The bus biy was actually fantastic! He overheard us say that we had asked for more bread & he came to the tabke & said he would bring us the bread! He was very attentive & prompt!
Been here many times, food was not good. Very understaffed, the bartender was also our server which she was great. Our dishes we cold and undercooked. Maybe Covid has had a negative impact on their restaurant. Hopefully next time it will be better.
As with every previous visit, the food, service and atmosphere are excellent. The wait staff are efficient, courteous and never overbearing.
Great overall experience!
A nice neighborhood spot. The food was not remarkable but very good. They were so busy so I’m sure on a normal night they can do even better. You can’t go wrong here.
The food was great and the service was great. it was great.
Excellent as always!
The cocktail menu was interesting. My Italian margarita was well made. The calamari app lacked flavor, as did the Insalata Caprese, which emphasizes portion size over flavor with insufficient balsamic or fresh basil. The entree tasted fine and was presented well but was not a stand out. The service and ambiance we all fine. It is a nice restaurant, if not a standout in any one area.
Fun evening out. Great food, great lively atmosphere, good wine and great service.
Good food and atmosphere, but drinks are a little pricey.
Table is super small for 4 ppl. Food is legit and atmosphere is pretty nice
Not as good as I had hoped, so so, not special. Wait staff was not very attentive.
It was great food and a great environment!
Food was good as usual and we got great service all night long by Blake. Best service we’ve had at any restaurant in a long time.
Great food, nice restaurant. Music was a little louder than we would prefer. A little hard to hear the nice bartender (Tashia) over the music but a nice environment. Nice patio and we would have sat outside if it had been warmer. We will go back again, soon!
Fun atmosphere with live music. Food & service was good.
Food was great as always, however the service was definitely off. Had to wait for water refills while our meals got cold, we were not offered dessert (even though we were there for a birthday celebration) and it took twenty minutes to recent events the check once we requested it. It also felt like social distancing was not being practiced - with the bar packed and only a few tables at the front of the restaurant left open. Fortunately we were seated in a corner area on the patio, but I would not have felt comfort anywhere else as it was too crowded and didn’t seem as though tables had six feet of separation between them.
We had a wonderful time celebrating our 18th wedding anniversary with great food and music by a wonderful guitarist.
Excellent service and food was very good!
Great at everything you would want for a successful business dinner. Service without disruption and anticipation of needs.
All five people thought they had ordered the best item on the menu. You earned my five stars.
Great food. Great service. Great time with family for birthday.
We had an excellent meal and a fantastic waiter.
Our only complaint is that Mia Nono no longer serves a “bottomless Diet Coke.” We have gone to this restaurant in the past and it appears that they changed their soft drink policy. My 93 year old father in law was celebrating his birthday and loves Diet Coke. But they charge $3 for a tiny bottle. That’s $3 for every Diet Coke in, what seems to be a 4oz bottle. That’s higher than, Hillside in Highland Village, for example that charges 2.49 for a BOTTOMLESS glass of Diet Coke.
Mi Cocina did this a few years ago and people stopped ordering soft drinks. Fortunately they received so many complaints that they reversed their policy. We intend to do the same thing at Mia Nono. This is a gross overcharge and stupid policy designed to gouge patrons.
Excellent service and the food was delicious!
Great place, one of our favorites! Always a good time!
Great meal as always. Best Italian in D/FW area.
Great food, great service, and loved the live music
