Mimmo’s Italian roots begin in his hometown of Bagheria, Sicily. The fresh fruits and vegetables picked from his family’s farm were on the table, or tavola, that night. Our logo of the lemon and lemon flower, or zagara, is a symbol of Sicily’s rich history of growing and exporting lemons, and a reminder of Mimmo’s many memories of lemon picking in his grandfather’s groves.

WOW!!! Outstanding experience from beginning to end. Nothing but excellence from food to drinks. As most places in the area, this restaurant has a pet-friendly patio. Our baby Bella sat quietly under the table as we enjoyed making friends with other diners around us. We will certainly return here when we are in the area. One of the best dining experiences in the Palm Desert/La Quinta area.

This rating is behalf of my wife and I. We dined at Massimo’s on the evening of May 27, 2023. At around 3:30 PM we were able to reserve a table for two at 6:45 through open table. We were seated immediately and had the immediate attention of our waiter, Reuben. My wife ordered an Old Fashioned and declared it “excellent.” I ordered a Saphire martini up with olives. It was quite good but I have an idiosyncratic preference for a heavier vermouth hand so, though it wasn’t excellent, for me it rated very good. We had bruschetta for an appetizer. The “Italian salsa” on the bruschetta fresh, crisp, sweet, yet tart. Just right. The bruschetta itself was *not* crispy, but it seemed to have been baked that way — not soggy, just not crispy. I also got a cup of the soup of the day, which was porcini and it was outstanding. It was a purée and delicious. I wish I’d ordered the bowl. My wife had the risotto al a isolana. She just a moment ago declared it “the best risotto I’ve ever had,” which is what prompted me to write this review. (She does a lot of declaring.) I had the special flat noodles carbonara (I don’t remember the name of the noodles). It was delicious, but not the best carbonara I’ve ever. 4-start for that one. My wife’s desert was a cannoli. She generally doesn’t like cannoli much but was so impressed with the other food she decided to take a chance. She says it was “really good.” That’s something, coming from her. I had carrot cake; my wife says the icing is mascarpone. I guess I prefer frosting made from American cream cheese. Anyway, it was still quite good but I won’t declare it my favorite (my wife does all the declaring, thank you very much). The whole tab was roughly $135 including tip, which I thought quite fare. I mean fair. It was a fair fare for the fare. The wine list seemed impressive, though I’m no judge of wine lists. As always, the food, service and drinks were excellent! We love this restaurant, and their specials are superb! Our server, Joey, was extremely helpful and explained all of the specials perfectly, memorized our orders and made sure we were well taken care of throughout the entire meal.

We had a man that was older as our waiter in the front room near the Hostess. He was rude from the beginning. He asked if he had ever been there before and we told him No. It took him 10 mins just to come back to take our drink order. We felt like we were bugging him. Never saw a manager. The food was no hot considering it just came out of the oven. All dishes we tried were not good. We looked forward in trying since we had never been. It was a one and done. The service was horrible and the food was small portions and not really good. If we didn't have other people with us we would have just walked out but we didn't. WE WILL NOT BE BACK, we spend alot of money at restaurants in the Desert. I will not go out to get a waiter to be completely rude to us.

Really great Italian food at a reasonable price. A huge variety on the menu. There must be something for everyone. $29 corkage fee which isnt bad. Service was excellent. The waiter knew the menu and easily explained everything. This is probably one of the better Italian Restaurants in the desert and definitely the best value.

This was my first visit to Mimmo’s. There were many great dishes to choose from. I had Petrale Sole with a lemon caper sauce that absolutely melted in my mouth. You can easily make your reservation online and even choose where you want to sit. Service was wonderful; very attentive. I highly recommend this restaurant if you are a lover of Italian cuisine.

Three of us for dinner. I had an excellent burrata/heirloom tomato salad as a starter. My entree was pasta with meatballs. The pasta was overcooked and under sauced, like what you would have for leftover at home. Wait staff brought some marinara liven it up. My wife had eggplant parmigiana which was good. Wait staff was very professional. I thought my entree was just strange but my wife and our friend enjoyed their meals. So two out of three.

Great food and great value. Felt a little rushed by the waiter. He just seemed to not really want to be there, but overall this is a place we will definitely visit again. Loved the ambience and the art work on the walls. My wife and I had a fantastic dinner with wine and dessert for $100. Great value.
