Good, interesting dishes and friendly service. Liked that I had the ability to reserve outdoor seating.
Had amazing breakfast. Service was super fast.
Delicious food, prompt seating and excellent service - all at a completely reasonable price for the quality!
Great place for Saturday breakfast/brunch. The Eggs Benny was superb! Quirky atmosphere with great staff
The food was amazing! I had corned beef with their famous potatoes and it was one of the best breakfasts I’ve ever had. I also loved the cold brew iced coffee. The atmosphere was cool too. I would highly recommend Millie’s 🙂
I and a friend had a lovely brunch on Sunday. My crab and scramble egg was delicious and bountiful. Our server, Evan, was quite attentive to us. He was able to locate a wine we requested that was not on the menu. Overall, the food and service at Millie’s was excellent.
The food was amazing. My server was nice, but he touched his hair way too much. Constantly scratching and pushing it back. Thankfully he wasn’t the cook, but it was still too much.
I was excited to go to my first brunch since COVID. I made a reservation with 3 other friends. I couldn’t decide what meal to get because i actually wanted something sweet but unfortunately there aren’t any sweet things on the menu. Finally, i ordered a bagel with cream cheese, which was clearly just a bagel bought in a grocery store. Honestly that wasn’t super surprising but what was surprising was how rude the waitress was. She was clearly annoyed that i was asking questions about the menu and then ultimately landed on something that was cheap. She was very brisk and handed my bagel to me vertically in a tiny cereal bowl. I had to borrow my friend’s plate so that i could actually open it up, spread cream cheese on it, and eat it.
Great little place in Richmond. Met friends that needed to be close to I95. Great find and awesome choices in Brunch. The chef even helped create a different version of the shrimp and grits. Can't have curry since I'm a celiac. Serves was great and high energy. Did not feel rush or unwelcome. We will be back.
They did a great job. Allison was our waitress and she did an amazing job. Tough to handle such a large group but she did it flawlessly!
Really great but I think the waitress forgot us as we were the only table in the back. She was very sweet
I brought some people from out of town to give them a taste of Richmond, and as usual, Millie’s did not disappoint. We all had different things, and my spinach salad was delicious. Everyone else loves their meal too—the French Dip and huevos rancheros. The only disappointing thing was the iced tea. It just does not taste fresh, and I’ve noticed that before. We finished it off with the white chocolate bread pudding, which was divine.
Excellent meals for the 3 of us. Spinach and salmon salad as well as the shrimp and grits were especially delicious!
Excellent food, great ambiance and customer service!
The crab enchilada is amazing. I wasn’t sure about ordering it, but WOW! I was glad I did. We sampled all of the desserts, and each one was simply outstanding. Don’t miss the peanut butter pie if you like decadent desserts.
Spicy and good good
Service was great and it is quaint. The challenge was the food. While the portion sizes are fine and price is good the quality was so so. My guess is it was an off day as I had heard so many great things. Perhaps it was my fault for ordering pastrami but I honestly did not think it could be bad. It was one of the worse sandwiches I have ever had. It was really tough and flavor was blah. Typically pastrami is slow baked and sliced thin. This was sliced like corned beef but rubbery like it was cooked too fast. Honestly it was very difficult to chew. A colleague had shrimp and grits while another had an egg special. Neither raved about the flavor.
So for a first timer I am hoping it was simply an off day for the cooks. If we go back I will stay with something safer.
The devils mess was fabulous. This will be our first stop when we come to Richmond from now on. What a find!
Good food and great service. A very noisy table next to us made it difficult to hold a conversation; as that was at a slow time of the day.
It was a cute environment but the menu is very limited especially for children.
Always great food!
Funky, Funky.....do not judge this place's splendid "book" by its cover!! Outside may not look like much but the interior is old time throwback, great menu, tasty brunch items.....highly recommend.
Millies has been one of the best restaurants in Richmond for 30 years.
Food was great server was great but the whole wait staff was at the bar staring at us. Was early for Friday night- but too much staff standing around.
We had a delicious dinner and a very unique dessert! Going to continue going back for sure!
Great service and food.
It had been years since we had been here and thought it would be better. We had a window seat but a fly kept walking up the window. And i killed a bug crossing the table.
The food for me was just ok. My wife enjoyed hers a bit more than me. The service was good. Nice friendly man providing service.
Great food. Cozy and comfortable. Parking across the street which was a plus.
Great night. Great staff and food
A small environment, so a bit noisy, but friendly. Diversified menu that is appealing and creative.
Excellent edgy food, made even better by great service and casual atmosphere. EVERYTHING we had was just delicious from the appetizers to the desserts, we were very pleased.
We had excellent service and the food was great. We had a party of 6 on a Tuesday night. It was quiet; a perfect night for some of us to experience Millie's for the first time. Won't be the last!
Millie's is always great! This evening was Restaurant Week so even a better value but food is tasty, not pretentious and creative. Low key vibe.
Besides the fantastic food, one of the things I really liked was the welcome feeling I got as soon as I walked in the door. This comfortable welcoming service continued throughout our enjoyable evening.
Lovely night for outdoor seating - the server was attentive but not disruptive - the food was great (as it always is!).
Millie's is always so good. Staff very welcoming and the food and drink were were both exceptional.
Last Saturday evening we enjoyed yet another outstanding meal at Millie's. Having just returned from Chicago, where the extremely loud music drowned out any dinner conversation we hoped to have with our dining companions two nights in a row (even in a one-Michelin star restaurant), it was so refreshing to enjoy great food with a normal level of music in the background. The spicy tuna starter was one of the best dishes I've eaten at Millie's over the past three decades. Both my lamb sausage entree and my partner's puppy drum were cooked perfectly. These guys can compete with the best chefs anywhere.
We were celebrating the going away of a friend. A few gals in the group ordered just a drink or soup because they just wanted to be there with the group. The resultant wasn’t packed, so it wasn’t like we were taking up valuable space, but we overheard our waitress telling 2 other employees how annoying it was that she wasn’t going to make any money off of our table. It’s a cute place with some great options, but our server’s attitude definitely dampened the occasion some.
Went for dinner. Food is inventive, which I love, but execution is uneven; some dishes are great, others either bland or "off" (the desserts in particular, which looked fascinating on paper, were texturally goopy and the flavor just wasn't right). For $100+, simply not worth it, especially with all the other amazing dinner options in Richmond. Probably won't be back anytime soon, though we might check out the brunch, since it seems that's where their strength is.
