A British restaurant and bar, Millie’s Lounge serves classic dishes alongside a selection of English sparkling wines, craft ales and seasonal cocktails.

From Monday to Saturday, you can enjoy traditional afternoon tea, set amidst the Grand Banking Hall. Enjoy cakes, scones and a selection of sandwiches with a choice of tea.

Please be advised that that Poultry Street is Entry only and Princes Street Exit only. Bookings can't be made for only drinks. Registered guide dogs only are permitted in public areas or restaurant of The Ned. Children are welcome in the restaurant with last booking at 6pm; seated up to 8pm. We will try to accommodate pushchairs where possible but please be aware there may not be space at the table. If you would like to request a highchair or for further information please contact the restaurant directly.

Please note The Ned reserves the right to refuse or cancel any reservation either ahead or upon arrival.

Music is simply too loud. It is lovely to have live music but I am afraid not the right type in my opinion.

One of my favourite restaurants in London, especially for formal dinners or taking visitors to London there for a nice dinner on the last day of their trip. The location is central and charming, with historic and cultural spots and buildings around. The ambience of the restaurant, located within the classy The Ned, is delightful. The food has been impeccable every time i've visited (so far, i've tried the scotch eggs, salmon, plaise, fish and chips and the cheese souffle). the service is excellent too - the waiters are attentive and quick, without being overbearing. IMO the price is worth the experience too. Bonus is that the lovely live music from the next-door restaurant is audible enough and yet not too loud.

Fantastic afternoon and evening celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary and joint 70th birthday with family members. We had afternoon tea in Millies and then went into the bar downstairs to continue having great drinks and talk....lovely atmosphere and great company. The team in Millies looked after us all the way and we cannot thank them enough.

This is a great venue for lunch in the City. Good food, well prepared. Limited choice for vegetarians and vegans, though.

Popped in for a quick breakfast with an old colleague, warmly greeted at the door and attended to swiftly by the reception staff. We were early but that wasn’t an issue, all the staff were charming and offered great customer service. Food was excellent and quickly served. The lady who took the payment has a lovely conversation with us and was amused by my colleagues Glasgow accent. Top notch as I expected.

Very poor service. Waiter was rude. Tea was served 15 minutes after tea stand was served. We had to remind staff for the tea. Took 20 minutes after asking for the bill. Been previously March 2024 service had the wow factor. In comparison service was neglectful, sandwiches and scones tasted very good. Desserts did not match description as stated on menu, had tried to be eventful with flaours tasted terrible and left a horrible afterbite. Raised this with waiter . Feedback from pastry chef menus change every 3 months, head office choice of menu. Therefore a disconnect!!!

There were several empty tables with sofas throughout the time we were there, some tables with sofas were occupied by three persons some by four persons some by five. We were a party of four and were first offered the round table by the receptionist, then when I asked about the tables with the sofas (which I had requested online) I was told they were only for larger parties. We were then offered a table by the exit at the back. Clearly felt discriminated against. The receptionist was cold.

Lovely afternoon for cocktails and afternoon tea. Helpful and cheerful staff, lovely chilled atmosphere. Food was really tasty and well presented.

Food and service were excellent (we had fish and chips with mushy peas and tartare sauce). The “rock” band that was performing at 1645 to 1730 or thereabouts, were not one I’d pay to see: they weren’t very good. The female singer who came on later, however, was excellent, as was her accompanist

Great venue, sadly no bread to start with and soufflé very overcooked. Tried telling me that’s how it should be not light and fluffy but sponge like.. main course very good. They compensated fairly after some insistence…..
