Some first course choices were good. Mains expensive with too many ingredients that didn't come together as an integrated whole. Desert was outstanding. Beer list excellent. Too noisy and hot.
It's the first vegetarian restaurant that didn't try to prepare food to be anything but excellently prepared vegetables. Not trying to simulate meat with flavors or texture. Simply delicious.
Incredible Vegan food!! A bit hard to discuss across table of 8 people but excellent food. Surprisingly delicious. Spices to perfection. Meat eaters won’t miss the beef!
Outstanding brunch! The food was wonderfully seasoned, and brought the flavors of the vegetables to the front, without relying on any fake meat products to do the heavy lifting.
Service was incredible, just absent at times but we appreciated our server and her recommendations!!
We went for the prix fix peach and nectarine inspired menu and everything was absolutely delicious and our waiter was amazing. Present but not hovering, super friendly. Great evening!
Delicious meal. Wonderful experience!
Dinner with my vegan daughter and her boyfriend
Millennium always provides something exciting and new. The food is unparalleled from a vegan perspective. And in general, is simply excellent and a can't miss experience.
As usual, the wait staff were excellent (attentive but not pushy)and made spot on wine recommendations. The Coriander and Arborio Crusted Oyster Mushrooms were delicious and delightfully crunchy. The Buckwheat and Teff Crêpe was perfectly cooked and delicious and the refreshing salad a perfect complement. The tamale was packed with flavor and perfectly cooked. There was simple no room for dessert!
Millenium is both special and a go-to for us. We are not vegan but this place is top of our list for dining. We would celebrate any special life occasion here, as well as enjoy it on a regular date night and with friends. The restaurant takes great care to offer the best ingredients, an exceptional menu and overall a memorable dining experience that is unpretentious but creative and high-quality. We always get the house bread and spread and arborio crusted mushroom appetizer - often it's trumpet mushrooms and last time it was oyster mushrooms. Then, we go from there and select dishes to share. The wine and beer list is thoughtfully curated and offers solid offerings. However, this past time we ordered from the unique cocktail options and were not disappointed. Each beverage is hand-crafted with exceptional ingredients, and carefully mixed. We made a point to save some room for dessert this time after we caught a glimpse of our neighbor's desserts! I only wish we saved enough room to order the trio sampler, but settled on sharing a fantastic plum cake with vegan ice cream. I lean more to savory dishes, but Millenium is one place I have enjoyed the delicious sweets options. Thanks for another special night.
Everything we ordered was well prepared and arrived at the table in a timely fashion; our waiter was knowledgeable and friendly. I particularly appreciated the option of a flexible, 3-course prix fixe menu with wine pairings. While each dish was excellent, the desserts were particularly outstanding.
Excellent vegan fare with excellent service. Great cocktails too.
The food was great, the waiter's service was superb and we will definitely be back.
Delicious! Millennium is always a wonderful dining experience, especially for a special occasion. Every dish is made and presented with a lot of care, and I love the changing, seasonal menu. It tends to get quite crowded, especially in the main dining area, and thus pretty loud, but still an enjoyable atmosphere. The heated patio is cozy, cute, and wonderful--especially recommend requesting a seat there!
Delicious and amazing food. Super creative and an all round great experience!
We're never disappointed when we come here. The menu changes often so you have a chance to eat something you really like more than once but are then forced to try new things that turn out to be just as good if not better which has turned out to be a really fun experience, especially for someone like me who tends to stick with a favorite.
Unusual menu and great setting!
Excellent, as always. Have gone with so many non-vegetarians and they have all loved the food.
The food was delicious, a lot of flavor, good portions and plated beautifully. Looking forward to dining there again soon.
It is amazing what this place can do with plants!! The food is super creative and delicious! Even carnivores will leave satisfied!
Amazing vegan food! Great cocktails! Lovely atmosphere and friendly service.
Millenium is, hands down, the best restaurant on earth! We brought my mother in law for her bday and it blew her mind. The Teff dish was my favorite, as well as the peach dessert! YUM!!! All so darn tasty!
Food was excellent. I was there for my boyfriend's birthday but it didn't feel very special. The server was not on point, somewhat awkward and aloof and didn't really remember things we told him. I wrote in the notes "somewhere nice and romantic" which translated to a high top next to the door? But, still a nice food experience.
Came for a taco tuesday, and I really enjoyed the potato taco and the black bean taco. Very inventive menu with delicious ingredients. Attentive and polite service. The desserts were magnificent. Looking forward to coming back.
The melon and heirloom tomato salad was out of this world! Little gems salad also remarkable - fried capers, who knew? Even the bread and spread were astounding. Such creative beautiful food. You won't miss the meat and dairy. Beautiful ambiance, romantic... a little noisy. Highly recommend. Friends of vegans - please don't let this restaurant fail!
Millenium is a great find for a vegan restaurant. Their food is creative and delicious! I wish they would change up the menu a bit but they never seem to disappoint. The flavors are bold! The location is great-right in the heart of College Avenue. The ambiance can be great for a friends' night out or date night. Check out the beautiful outdoor patio if you can. The staff is really friendly and helpful when guiding you through the menu. My only issue is that it took a very long time between ordering and actually receiving the food. I believe we polished a bottle of wine (there were three of us) before the food came. Overall, I would come here again. And again. And again.
Some good inventive dishes here like the gnocchi with tomato dashi, but also lots of muddled flavors. Heavy battered mushroom tempura made me long for properly-made calamari, and the barbecue mushroom main tasted like a kitchen-sink casserole. The entire meal felt heavy. Uneven service- unsmiling and uncommunicative about the prix fixe at our table, though another waiter was delightful at our neighbor's table. This East Bay Millenium might have a younger and more accessible vibe than the one in SF- we had a memorable meal there years ago- but it comes at a cost...
I’m lactose intolerant and normally deserts aren’t super good but these desserts we’re Delicious and the food was outstanding so good and I highly recommend it even if your not vegan it is so delicious and my waitress was so sweet and was very helpful 5 stars SO GOOD
Loved it! We had the most amazing food! Couldn’t have spent our 1st wedding anniversary any better!
I used to go to Millennium in SF and this new iteration pales in comparison. I felt as if there was little to no management presence and the staff were relatively untrained. The food, is still inventive and tasty, but not executed with the same aplomb as before. The atmosphere is not as fancy in the new digs but it’s a friendly environment. My biggest issue was with service, or lack thereof and lack of training. Upon arrival, the notes I had added to my reservation on open table were not adhered to nor even read, (which was attested to by the hostess) this exemplifies a lack of preparation- the hostess was unaware that a 1 year old was included in the party even though it was clearly stated. Management 101 - no preshift meeting?!
The worst offense however was my server, a bubbly 20 something who obviously had more interest in her hair and looks than in doing her job. We were seated at a round table that looked into the kitchen, and from what I can gather she burned her hair? It was up in a top knot - she walked into the kitchen, standing in front of the line pulling at her hair, showing it to others all the while plates are being passed around her. She then took a dish from the window and stopped in the mirror outside the kitchen to once again examine her hair, OVER the plate she was bringing a guest. This went on for 20 minutes, people, chefs, managers all dealing with her need to deal with her hair over food and NO ONE saying “hey! That’s unsanitary, go in the bathroom!” Lastly, I watched a guest come out to find her from the patio, questioning whether her dish was supposed to be served cold, it wasn’t, this server visibly fell into anger, the look on her face the tension in her body - it was palpable and she carried it over to her table with the drinks she was delivering, muttering and making a comment to her guests who were not interested in her need to divulge her disquiet with her other table.
Please, focus on some training and guidance for the staff!
Foods fantastic as always, service is good (waiter visits just enough times but not too many). It’s very quiet and peaceful outside on the patio, inside can be a little noisy. It doesn’t get too cold on the patio since there are plenty of heaters and blankets! Hands down favorite restaurant.
Fabulous! Everything - drinks, appetizers, entrees, and service - was delightful.
I took my omnivore sister and she devoured everything with glee! From the drinks to the appetizers to the main meal and especially the dessert, we were both wowed by the food.
Three of us were celebrating a birthday. We ordered 3 starters, 2 mains, 2 desserts and cocktails/wine. We sat outside, which was lovely. All the food was excellent. Service was very good.
Excellent meal and service. Delicious dessert. A great place to celebrate my niece’s 18th birthday!
Just okay not likely to go back not good food or value
Amazing food, if you’re not vegetarian and you wanted to know how great vegetarian could be, this is it!
Don't miss this one of kind dining opportunity! It was on our bucket list...we traveled all the way from Florida and the dining experience exceeded our expectations. The food, the staff and the ambience is over the moon and back delish!! Thank you!
Everything was perfect and the meal was amazing and delicious. 10+ stars! It was our first visit and definitely not our last!
