Absolutely amazing experience. From arrival to departure we were warmly welcomed and well looked after. The staff were amazing, warm, friendly and welcoming. The lunch taster menu was absolutely stunning, art on a plate and tasted heavenly, amazing flavours and textures. The icing on the cake was meeting the fantastic chef Daniel and his lovely wife Alice. One of my best dining experiences to date. Shame we don’t live closer it was worth the 2 hour drive and we will definitely go back soon.

It is expensive, but you could see what you were paying for - the dishes, the wine, the service and the overall experience were fantastic, with some lovely little unexpected touches. Only minor criticism was that our sitting was quite quiet, so it took us a while to feel comfortable.

From the moment we stepped through the discreet entrance, we knew we were in for something special. This two-Michelin-star restaurant offers not only impeccable food, but an experience that feels deeply personal and utterly refined. Every element—from the understated elegance of the décor to the quietly attentive service—was perfectly judged. The tasting menu was a journey of invention and restraint. Each course arrived as a work of art, balancing precision with emotion. A highlight was the variety of original amuse bouche with unusual flavour combinations; the chicken liver parfait with chocolate was a stand out! Each course moved seamlessly to the next. The sommelier sourced a particular favourite of ours which added to this special experience. This is not just a meal, it’s an event. A quiet celebration of craftsmanship, flavour, and thoughtful detail. Expensive, yes—but worth every moment. A place to return with good friends and special family members for life’s most special occasions.

Food was amazing. Daniel Clifford strikes again. Only thing to bring up is the wine service was good, but service on pouring the wine was not as attentive as it should have been, especially when spending the sort of money we did. Minor things but at this standard its the little things that matter

Don't be put off by the website menu descriptions - what appears in reality is so much better. Yes it's expensive but for a special occasion it delivered.

We had the most incredible 10 year wedding anniversary here yesterday! We had been 7 years ago (and it was amazing then!) and the restaurant has been updated with a beautiful area to overlook the river. The staff were very attentive and were excellent at helping us to select a glass of wine to complement our meal (we could only have a glass as we were driving!). The food was INCREDIBLE! We were excited for each dish and even days later, we are talking about the menu!!! The combination of flavours, playfulness and creativity of the dishes literally blew our minds. Whilst expensive, it’s what you pay for and there is no-where else that we’d rather spend our money for this standard of experience. We will be back!

We had a lovely experience here for a special occasion. Service was spot on while still feeling relaxed. Food was out of this world and we were treated to a look around the kitchen which was a great finish to the evening. The place is situated in a really nice part of town on the edge of the common so makes for a nice scenic walk to and from if you stay nearby. We’re given a treat to take away which was a nice touch. Thank you!

Went for a birthday celebration for my husband. From the moment we walked in we were taken care of but not intrusively. The tasting menu was wonderful and the wine pairings matched really well. A great experience for a special occasion.

Beautiful setting and perfect for a special occasion Staff were attentive and knowledgeable. Food well presented and each course a taste explosion extensive wine list Would like to a see A La Carte meals available maybe on specialised evenings. The cheese offering mid service at additional cost seemed unnecessary. A visit to the kitchen to see the food being prepared and meet the numerous chefs made the evening. Overall an excellent experience
