The menu is limited but the options are excellent. We had the dumplings to start and they were terrific. The salad greens were very fresh and flavorful. We will have a return visit.
When my wife and I came to the restaurant we did not know what to expect. But after being served, we thought that the food was delicious which is an understatement. It is one of the best if not the best restaurant we have been to if not the best we have been to. And the service was excellent.
Wow! Definitely a gem of a place on the southside of Richmond that was excellent. Drinks, appetizer, entree and desserts were prepared and presented perfectly. Put this new place in your rotation of top restaurants in Richmond Metro!
Went on a Friday night with music, which was great and lots of people, so noise level was appropriate for the setting.
Thanks for a wonderful meal and experience! Food, beverages, and service were great. And we lucked out to come in on a night where live music was being played - Pat O'Brien!
We had an amazing meal! Due to having young babies at home, we chose to eat outside despite it being so cold! They bent over backwards to get the fire pit lit for us when the heaters wouldn’t work. Our meal was tremendous start to finish, even in the cold! Can’t wait to return over and over!
The food was so incredible- the flavors were out of this world!
Great atmosphere.Food was delicious and service by Aden excellent!
This is the second time I have been there!! Food is always delicious!
Service was great!
Will definitely… go back!!!
I am so happy to have a good non-chain restaurant in Midlothian. I had been here a couple times previously and decided to go with friends who had never been. PoThe menu is somewhat limited, which is fine, however, last night they were out of an appetizer we ordered and an entree. Service was rather slow as well and the waiter forgot to bring the wine we ordered with our meals. He comped the wine which was nice. Hope to have a better experience next time.
Food and waitress was great, Took way to long to get our food. Well over hour and 1/4 fir it to arrive.
The staff was friendly, but the dining room was cold where we were sitting (every time someone came in the door). The food was creative and tasty, but lukewarm. The nog drink was okay. Overall, it was a decent dining experience that could have been a great one with some greater attention to the details. It has to be difficult to bring everything hot with the staffing shortage everywhere, so I am understanding.
We had a delicious meal there with choices for everyone. Thoughtfully created menu with creative takes on standard offerings.
Enjoyed a wonderful New Years Eve dinner with friends. Everything was excellent…drinks, dinner, service, atmosphere, live music. Especially love the Chesnut soup!! We have been here several times and food and service are consistently amazing!!
The chestnut soup was outstanding. The duck was fantastic and well presented. The only reason for four stars is the pork we ordered was a little bit overcooked. Overall, we had a great experience. We will definitely go back.
Interesting seasonal options in a festive and fun environment. It was a pleasure to have a unique experience!
The food is great, and our server was very nice, but the wait for the food was very, very long. Guitar player was okay, but could have turned the volume down slightly.
I can’t say enough good things about this place. The food is perfection on a plate! Do a tasting menu , you won’t regret it.
First time there and was so impressed with the entire experience!
Amazing food! So excited to have this restaurant on the south side.
terrible service and an hour and a half for food, with no sincere apology
Really disappointed in tonight’s meal. We went a couple months ago and it was one of the best meals I’ve had in Richmond but tonight was a major disappointment. In comparison to our previous meal it feels like they really scaled back on the entire dish. My wife got the duck and we had that in our previous visit but wasn’t the same. Far less duck plus a lot fewer sides which really didn’t compliment the rest of the meal. I had the pork loin which was dry and the flavors were really lacking. A friend had the pot pie but no pastry included…basically chicken breast with some veggies and a gravy. Our other friend got the salmon which was basically a piece of salmon just put on a plate with limited sides. This was another meal we had gotten before and no where near as good and missing sides. Needless to say I will be very hesitant to try again and given how few people were there vs previous visits I would guess other people are experiencing the same disappointment…
Excellent food and professional staff. Happy to support the hard working owners.
Amazing food and great ambiance!
Wonderful food every time we go! Tonight was no different! Fantastic!
Delicious meal! Had the filet and it was so tender you could cut with a butter knife! Don’t miss the chestnut soup.
Given the dearth of upscale restaurants on Southside RVA, this was a positive experience. A varied and impressive range of apps & entrees were pricey, but inviting. Difficult to decide on. Pot pie (actually deconstructed presentation) at $24 seemed the least expensive entree, but was larger than this diner could consume, take home box ensued. Filet at $40 headlined the menu. Would definitely return if not often.
The room was too cold many diners wearing heavy winter jackets.
Eager to go to the car with heated seats and steering wheel
We went there during Christmas and they had really cute decorations and lights
Excellent service and ambiance. The food is spectacular. We ordered the burrata and fried green tomato appetizer, followed by the sage papardelle and roasted pork loin for dinner. Oh, so delicious. We will be back.
Birthday and Christmas gathering
The food was delicious but the service extremely slow
Food, server, and atmosphere where all wonderful. Hostess ignored us then when she was told about us, she didn't acknowledge our presence, instead asked a server to seat us.
chicken pot pie could have been a bit hotter but otherwise everything was fantastic!
High priced restaurant, serving exceedingly small portions. The restaurant was cold, making it uncomfortable to relax and enjoy the “small food.”
Absolutely delicious food and drink! Great place for brunch!!!
Wonderful staff with very good rotation cuisine. Only issue was that with an open floor plan the restaurant was very loud. This wasn't their fault. There was a gaggle of very loud, mostly women, having a Christmas party. I wish they had been respectful of others. I had actually come to her the band and was unable because of their loudness. The waiter and owner both apologized to the diners in our section but you could see from their faces that it was a distraction. They did offer to move us once space opened in another section but we were almost done. I will try them again.
All the service personnel were very friendly and attentive. The squid ink pasta was excellent, but the lamb egg roll and chicken pot pie were only okay. Restaurant was very busy and staff really hustled.
Presentation was great, food was very flavorful. Loved the chestnut soup and the salmon. Our waitress was extremely helpful. Wish I could remember her name.
This was my second visit to Midlothian’s Chefs Kitchen and is does not disappoint! Although there is a limited menu and no specials during the week the food was phenomenal! The craft cocktails are amazing - so many to try! Great place for all occasions - will definitely go back!
