Fabulous! Food is best in Key West. Have been twice and all servers were incredible. Food was sublime. Tuna nachos were a special treat and so scrumptious. The hostess was delightful!
We celebrated my husbands birthday here with some delicious steaks! Red wine. And a wonderful birthday treat that Michaels sent out!
We both had fish-snapper and grouper. It was so delicious. Best restaurant in Key West!
The food was great! We especially liked the meatloaf which featured Wagyu Beef. It was so delicious!
Ridiculous pour on Manhattans, not even to 3/4 of the glass full. Wine pours were decent.
Lovely setting, friendly service. But long delays between courses and food was just okay.
This is a hidden gem, off the beaten path in Key West. Food is second to none!!
Actually changed our reservation from another restaurant to Michael's after reading about it in Southern Living and anticipating a unique experience with our family. The menu had some delectable descriptions of rather enticing entrees; however for one of our party the shrimp and purple grits selection was very much a let down. Our server inquired how everyone's dish was; the grits dish was returned to the kitchen (shrimp in very thin/soupy grits). The entree was replaced with another entree. This was our last night in Key West and Michael's had been reserved for top honors; the entire family felt that it just did not complete our week the way we all had anticipated and wish we had gone elsewhere. Sorry Michael's, you tried.
The perfect location and the night was beautiful. Food was top notch as were our drinks. Best in Key West.
My husband and I went to Michael's and shared two entrees, one being a special. One entrée was fish and one was surf and turf. Both were exceptional! We are moving to Key West but originate from Chicago. So, we know a good steak and were very impressed. We will be back for sure to celebrate special occasions. Also, the man who seated us at check-in was very professional.
Excellent meal and dessert! Great atmosphere and service.
Booked a table in the "garden" but ended up sitting inside. Really enjoyed our server but the food and ambiance were average. Could probably find a better meal at that price point.
We absolutely love Michaels. The food quality is great and consistent. Our server Nick was very attentive and remembered our order from a previous visit.
The ambiance and location is perfect.
So glad a local resident recommended this restaurant. A great find if you want to get off the touristy Duval street. Crowed was a mix of young and old but no loud children (We have children and love kids but not when seeking a romantic dining spot). Food was incredible and dessert was even better! Love that they offer a "light fare" option for when you don't want a full dinner. Will definitely return next time I'm in Key West!
We've been to Michael's several times before on our visits to Key West over the years. Our waiter Eric was fairly new but had a terrific personality and we thoroughly enjoyed talking with him. My husband was so looking forward to the special Stuffed Veal Chop, but unfortunately he was disappointed this time. It was overcooked and bland. My Lite Side plate of Mahi Mahi was very tasty, but came out cold. I asked to have it reheated and when it was returned to me, the plate and the fish were hot but the rice and veggies were still cold. Not sure if we'll go back to Michael's when we visit Key West later this spring. Consistency is very important to us, especially when paying $48 for one entree.
Our server was very inattentive. Food was good.
Very nice pretty quiet good food , smallish portions
Food is good, prices OK. Used to have a better menu.
Great experience,Owner, Chef, personable, accomadating, pleasant atmosphere. Food the best👍
Loved the vibe of this restaurant. Recommend eating out on the patio.
Great atmosphere. Food was excellent and Chief Michael uses a lot of local ingredients.
The food at this restaurant is fairly good. However, if you order the lite plates, be prepared for a very scant amount of food. The biggest complaint I have, though, is the service. It certainly is not up to par.
This restaurant has really taken a dive in the last few years. It used to be the go-to place for great steaks.
Highly disappointed lately.
We would rate this restaurant second among Hot Tin Roof, and Latitude. Number 1, surprisingly, was Hot Tin Roof. Number three, again surprisingly, was Latitude. Tonight is Louis Backyard. We will see.
Best food in Key West - hands down! Service is perfectly On point with a team approach, cocktails are well done,
And the menu never disappoints.
Can they add a sixth star?
We have been to Michael’s many times. The steak al forno was delicious. The snapper was good but not as good as we’ve had before. We always love the ambiance there. Very relaxing. I think our waiter was new because he didn’t know the menu very well. All in all it was a good experience
Excellent food and great service sitting at the bar. I thought the set New Years Eve menu was rather over priced.
Food was ok but not excellent and they put us at a plastic lawn table and chairs even though I made reservations over 2 mo prior. For $85 per person for food only I exspected a little better
Our experience was terrible. It was our most expensive meal in Key West and the worst, by far. The restaurant was dirty and the staff was disorganized. I would never recommend.
People raved about this restaurant. My husband and I thought it was ok nothing special.
The waiter didn’t know much about the wine selections. The food was moderate for taste but high in price.
I likely will not return.
Very weak drinks! Vodka Collins with no vodka! Lighting way too bright in first room to the left.
We had a wonderful, romantic meal at Michaels. The Tuna Nachos (fried wontons with fresh tuna and wasabi sauces) was to die for. They also offer "lite" portions that really allow for an optimum serving. The chef/owner, Michael, was very active and attentive. We will try this restaurant again.
I’m a local and had company in town and had the pleasure of having four very good meals at
Santiago, Cafe Sole, Bagatelle and Micheals
This was my favorite meal out of the four. All were very good.
Amazing food and ambience. A bit far from crazy crowds which is what we wanted. We went with our five year old daughter to early dinner and they were super accommodating. So far our favorite at Key West!
Meatloaf was excellent !! Michaels is always a good choice.
Michael’s is why you dine in Key West. Not overly expensive but wonderful experience
This is our new favorite place in Key West. Excellent atmosphere, food, and service. We loved the option to try a smaller portion of an entree
Very pleasant staff-efficient without intruding-good food, great ambience and location
I made our Christmas eve reservation for 6 PM. we arrived on time, were seated promptly, and offered beverages. Then things ground to a very slow pace. The place was about half empty when we arrived, but filled up quickly starting at 6;30. Having been here previously, perhaps it was through the haze of alcohol that I remembered the food to be much better. No longer drinking, I could see that on this night, it was at best an average place. Aside from the painfully slow service, my wife's steak was undercooked and the fries were just awful. My pasta was ok, but light on the mushrooms, and sun dried tomatoes. About an hour and a half later, we exited vowing that it had become just another KW place that had come to rely on new customers who get back on the ship never to return.
Delicious! Our favorite restaurant while in Key West!!
Loved the outdoor atmosphere beautiful garden with fountain and outside bar was gorgeous
Food excellent and service superb
Loved it will go back
Garden protected from winds
A real jewel
