Great atmosphere and best food we had in Key West!!!
Was my birthday dinner first time there. Not disappointed. Delicious food!!
We arrived at 7:50p, & were seated immediately. Waiter was exceptional. We ordered dinner, no salads or appetizers and the food came out exactly 1 hour later!!! Manager apologized, took $$ off the bill and gave us 2 desserts. The food was delicious but not worth a 60 minute wait
The manager and waiter tried thier best, but I dont know what was going on in the kitchen.
Came in because website said it was 50% off on certain days. It did not specify that u had to have a local id. So everyone around us got their food at half price. Other than that, the risotto was not great. Scallops were good, but there was only two for $36. So it was overpriced. The onion soup was not made with carmeized onions, but rather broth with chopped onions put in. Huge disappointment.
Fantastic! My husband and I enjoyed a wonderful anniversary dinner while in Key West. Everything was delicious, everyone was friendly and service was great. Michaels was a great find and we will definitely return!
Michael’s is always consistently delicious!
The steak was way to thin, the chicken piccata was way to thick and tough.
Just ok. I got bit by mosquitos and my salmon was raw in the middle. My husband enjoyed his pasta very much.
This a must visit while in the Keys! Make sure you get a outside seat in the Garden. The food is simply amazing. Michael really has something going for him here. We are huge foodies and everyone told us to eat at Latitude’s, well we did and Michaels was better! Scallops and Brie, wagu meat loaf, shrimp pasta....the list goes on. Amazing staff. Awesome vibe.
Excellent choice and the idea of small portions is a good one !! Hats off to our server Shannon !
We are regulars @ Michaels when we are in Key West for our annual multi-month stays. We love the host staff, the wait staff and the bar staff. When we arrive, we always feel as though we're HOME!
We're never in a hurry ( we're always on island time ) but this visit was a bit slow on the service. There was a group function and the kitchen apparently got slammed which affected the timely delivery of our meals. The wait staff worked hard to catch-up and eventually got the job done. No harm, no foul for us.
We committed to order " out of the box " on our meal orders and we ended up with a 50-50 result. My wife ordered the Mahi-Mahi special and loved it ! I ordered the steak and frites and , while it was generally ok, I was disappointed and couldn't finish it . Our pre-dinner salads were OUTSTANDING !
NO place is perfect 100% of the time and our experience this time was an anomaly that we know, from experience, won't be repeated. We'll be back again and again.
Most of the items we ordered were very good. The negatives were filet was overcooked and rice was dry. Artichoke appetizer was amazing. Fish dishes were very good.
The appetizers and food were great. We had steaks, meatloaf, salads, seafood at our table and everyone enjoyed their meals. The service was VERY slow, so prepare for that. That is NOT a bad thing, because it allows time to have conversations and enjoy one another's company, but at the same time, we asked for more bread 3 times (completely ignored us and we never received it) and it was tough getting my water refilled because no one comes to check in on you at your table (except when bringing food). We had cocktails, but I settled for only one, because it was extremely watered down and the ice melted by the time i got it (I assumed it sat for awhile before the server decided to bring it). This was on a slow night, so I would tend to avoid this place when it is busy. Food VERY good and highly recommend, service, not up to par with a place charging what Michael's charges......
Had a wonderful evening, food was fabulous! We were so pleased with every aspect of this restaurant.
Everything was exceptional! Service, atmosphere and food :)
As a local Key Wester, this is a special spot where the food is authentic and the service and atmosphere are friendly. Love eating dinner (light side) at the bar, or dining with a group of friends, or a special occasion for two. Delicious!
Fabulous food, friendly staff. Great find in the neighbourhood.
Have been coming down to the Florida Keys for many years this is one of my favorite restaurants to dine in. I have always had a great meal!
Loved it. Enjoyable evening. However, should have been asked if we wanted full or half size dinner. Lava cake was outstanding.
Was recommended by friends and did not disappoint! Great food, atmosphere, service. Definitely a gem of Key West!
The chicken picatta was tasteless and dry. We all ordered it and were underwhelmed. Ambiance very and service was excellent.
Food was serve barely warm. Tasteless and not very tender.
I was disappointed.
One of our favorites in Key West. A true sign of excellence in that they have this good for many years
food was decent but it took over an hour to get our entrees. Way overpriced for what we got.
Very nice quiet dining in Key West! Local fresh caught seafood selection. Good wine selection. Intimate.
Great food Ricardo wasn’t my favorite. Lovely dinning experience! We will go back.
Wonderful night. Friendly staff, we were greeted by the owner. Delicious food! Romantic ambiance outside. We will definitely be back on our next trip to Key West.
Great food and service at a fine value. Loved the macadamia encrusted fish, unbelievable sauce.
This isn't our first trip here. I'll have to say I wasn't as impressed with the food this time as I was last time. We had the "surf and turf" Friday night special. It was half a lobster and a 4oz filet. The lobster was cooked well, but was smothered in tomatoes (not mentioned on the menu) and although it made for a colorful plate, it wasn't my cup of tea when it comes to eating lobster. The filet looked like an 8oz filet had been cut in half so the meat was as big around as a regular filet but not near as thick. The size wasn't the issue, however. Both mine and my husband's steak were quite overdone. I'd ordered mine medium and there was definitely no pink center, and my husband's was supposed to have been medium rare, and it was in the done side of medium. If you're going to cut your fillets like this then you have to adjust your cooking times accordingly.
I wished I'd have stayed with what I was originally going to order, the filet al forno as I can say that when I had that on our last visit to the keys, it was ranked up there in my top two filets ever! So, my advice, skip the special and go big! Not to worry, we'll be back because I'm for sure wanting one of those excellent steaks again.
Celebrated 33rd Anniversary owner and staff were Great the food was Absolutely fantastic
We were hoping for a good meal after reading the reviews. They are understaffed. I ordered tuna nachos which was s big plate full. It wasn’t very good and way too much for one person. Server gave no guidance about this. I ordered 1/2 serving of snapper which was Luke warm and the lobster ride was so dry. My husband had the surf and turf which wasn’t good. The shrimp looked and were over cooked. We enjoy good food and fine dining. Other restaurants are so much better. It is a pretty environment though. You couldn’t beat Lstutudes for us this trip. It was better than perfect all around.
Excellent Food and Old-Charm Ambiance! Great place for special dinner or celebration
This was our 3rd visit, we love it, great service & food is wonderful. Every time we visit Key West Michael’s is always on our list of places we have to go to. Can’t wait for our next trip.
Great food and service. Enjoyed meeting one of the owners while dining. Food was superb!
Service was great as was the food. We sat outside, it was lovely we felt as though we were sitting in someone’s beautiful private backyard. My husband said he had the best mahi mahi ever. We will definitely be going back.
The food was outstanding. It was nice to see local specials also.
Slow service despite empty restaurant. Lobster tail was not high quality lobster meat, was small, and swam in oil. It was more oily than buttery. The menu needs revisioning.
Has outdoor ambience. Very attentive service but server did not rush us. A number of meals come in a “lite” quantity that was just the right amount of food at a decent price.
We have been coming to michaels for over 20 years, almost 30. There are a lot of great places on the island but most have inconsistent quality. In all of our time in the Island Michaels is the only place we have never once had a bad meal. Don’t know how they do it but it’s 5-Star every single time. Price is a bit high but still worth it for being key west and always great quality.
Amazing as always. Thanks, Michael!
