This place was recommended by the guest house we stayed at. Great food and service.
The ambiance and location were good. However, the wait staff were inattentive and did not reflect an interest in maintaining the table needs. The steaks were cooked appropriately to medium however, the char from the grill was evident and ruined the flavor of the meat. Overall the meal was not worth the price we paid.
Our anniversary and we loved the attention we received from our waitress and owner
We love eating here. The food has never disappointed and is very good. Michael's also has a really nice and appealing atmosphere. The staff is very friendly and on top of things.
The mashed potatoes were cold, the steak was good, nicely charred.
The octopus was overly chewy.
Michaels is our go to for a great dinner in Key West. The food was superb as it always is and the ambience was perfect. It was my wife’s birthday and they brought her dessert to the table with a sparkler in it! Awesome! We highly recommend Michael’s and can’t wait to return!
The waitress was robotic and was too busy to tend to the 7 of us correctly. I am used to people in Key west being happy and personable she was far from that. The steak was over cooked and burnt on the outside so ended up at Martins afterwards for a good meal .
Terrific service. Nice food. Great place to enjoy a good dinner conversation with a dining partner you enjoy.
My wife and I have been going to Micheal s since 2000 food is excellent people are very knowledgeable and friendly, can't wait to go back!
Eight of us made the trip to Michael’s and had an outstanding time. Their wine selection was very nice, the service was exceptional as was the food. It was a quiet atmosphere and we had no trouble carrying on a conversation from one end of the table to the other.
Always excellent. Never disappoints. We have been coming to Michael’s for years and continue to love it, whether eating at the bar, outside or inside. Visit here every time we are in town!!
We love to go to Michaels when we visit Key West. The food is fantastic and the patio is truly special and beautiful. Great date night spot for couples.
One of the singular best meals I have had. Service was efficient and impeccable. The food was phenomenal. This is a must eat in Key West
Wow what a great place to eat in Key West. We were staying at a house just a couple blocks away and it was late in the evening. They took care of us with no problems even though we showed up 15 minutes before they were to close. The manager said it was their pleasure to take care of us even if it was close to closing.
We sat on the inside of the restaurant; very cool and comfortable. We were greeted and waited on immediately. Appetizers and main course were as described and very good. Unfortunately there was no room for dessert. I would highly recommend this restaurant and it was very convenient to our hotel (Silver Palms).
Amazing Food- everything we ordered (steak, snapper, chicken) was amazing. We started with a house salad for the table (highly recommend) and were impressed with the flavors of everything we ordered. Also tip- request the table by the fountain in your reservation- it's the most beautiful spot :-)
We were joined by good friends at Michaels to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The food was ok, but some items we ordered we were later told were not available. Presentation was poor, and portion size was rather small for the price. The waitstaff was courteous and service was prompt. With only two people having wine, our total bill rounded out to about $100 a person before tip. Regardless, of being a bit over-priced, it was a lovely evening celebrating with friends in a quaint location.
This little place was great. The wife and I were visiting and saw the reviews on Open Table and was not disappointed. From the BELT salad to the cedar plank salmon to the warm brownie al la mode, everything was great.
My wife and I had dinner at Michael’s to celebrate the anniversary of our first date. It was our favorite dining experience while in Key West! If you are looking for a romantic dinner spot this is it. Staff is exceptional, cocktails are great, food is outstanding the tuna nachos are amazing. The less than perfect score is more my fault, I chose a fried fish when fish is much better not fried. My wife had a seafood pasta that she really liked. Michael’s is the gem of Key West! They helped make are night quite special!!
My husband and I made reservations for our anniversary. We were very happy we did and will definitely be back next year. The service was great, food was delicious, and the atmosphere was pleasant. We sat outside and the temperature just happened to be perfect.
Very nice place
Celebrated my birthday while staying in Key West! Michael’s was a recommendation of a friend born and raised in the Keys. We changed our reservation and what a great decision it was! Shannon took excellent care of us. We started by sampling several of the cocktails, the Blueberry Lemonade was the favorite. First round of food was the Fried Oysters and the grilled Octopus - perfection! The feature salad was heirloom tomato, watermelon, mozzarella and basil; it was unbelievably fresh. We kept going... deciding on the macadamia crusted Mahi Mahi and the Artichoke Brown Butter Snapper, we split and couldn’t stop talking about the flavors and wow factor. Of course, birthdays are celebrated with dessert, so we ordered two. The Key Lime Pie(made in house) and the Mango sorbet were ideal finishes to this exquisite experience. We will definitely be telling all friends and family.
Birthday for our daughter and they did a great job! Lovely place, great service and amazing food.
Have dined here on many occasions and was very disappoint on our anniversary. Appetizers were prepared to perfection with lovely presentation. Entrees were served on a basic white plate with presentation you would find at a fast food diner. Macadamia encrusted mahi mahi charred and fish was dry and chewy. Will be looking for another "favorite" restaurant in Key West.
Great service and conversation from Suzette and Nancy. Perfectly grilled filet that melts in your mouth. Wonderful chocolate “Tuxedo” cake/mousse for dessert. Highly recommended expertise .
First bad experience at Michaels. We usually sit in courtyard, but it was a rainy night so sat inside dingy dining room. We ordered an appetizer but our waiter forgot to tell kitchen. I ordered a steak medium rare, which came medium well and tasted like lighter fluid. Our waiter did not come back to check on us after someone else brought us our cold food. I always recommend Micheals to friends and family who visit Key West, but they are off my list.
Excellent meal. Filet and shrimp special was outstanding. Brownie dessert melted in my mouth. Great ambiance. Highly recommended.
Food was very good as was the service. They only offer fondue at the bar so we missed out on that. I would go back to check that out. I really like that the entrees are offered in two sizes, depending on how hungry you are. My only complaint is that while the cocktails were good, they were a bit expensive jacking our check up greatly.
We had a memorable dining experience - would go back in a heartbeat
The food was good and atmosphere was good, we sat outside. We were bothered by nats or mosquitoes where sitting outside though.
I found Michaels on Open Table and made a reservation weeks in advance. Overall ratings were very good so we gave it a try. They did not disappoint! Blue crab wontons and fried oysters were wonderful. Entrees came in lighter portions which was a good thing. A half bottle of wine after daiquiris was perfect. Justin recommended the key lime pie after we asked for recommendations to find it locally. Glad we trusted him as the pie was fantastic!! Off the beaten path but worth it!!
My favorite restaurant on the island for fabulous food and superior service!
Michael’s is in a quiet neighborhood yet within walking distance to the hustle and bustle of Duval Street. The atmosphere is romantic. The service is friendly and attentive. Our food was excellent and came out in a timely fashion. Our overall experience was excellent and would highly recommend this restaurant to others.
Great garden style dining in a very intimate setting with fantastic food!
Great experience and would recommend for anyone visiting the area
awesome as always, very friendly staff banana glazed mahi mahi was fantastic key lime martini superb we are now local property owners great to say this is where locals eat.
Excellent service and menu, fabulous wine. Recommend for any special occasion or just a fun night out in Key West.
The ambience sat Michael’s is casual elegance (if that makes any sense...lol). The outside dining and bar are tranquil and beautiful. The staff was attentive, courteous and pleasant. Would definitely dine here again.
Love Michael's! Great food and service. Always a must when we visit Key West!
