Michael's House of Prime
We take great pride in our #1 specialty our Prime Ribs are meticulously slow-cooked daily to give you what we believe is the finest prime rib anywhere! Looking for something lighter? Chef Erik Hyslop has put together a variety of interesting options.
I wanted to have a special night out with my wife to celebrate our tenth Valentine's Day since we were married. I could not have been more pleased! On the chance that something special could be added, I made a request when I made my reservation. At 3pm on the day of our reservation, one of the owners contacted me and offered to get a bouquet of roses (little did I know she was later to include a vase) for presentation at our table. My wife loved that! She had no idea what to expect and the meal...good grief...the meal!
We both selected prime rib, hers with lobster tail (which was so large it looked like it played in the NFL) and mine with crab legs (split in half and ready for one to devour). We topped it off with our usual cocktails and enjoyed an uninterrupted evening with one another. Did we tip? Oh yes. $200. And I would spend every penny of it again and again and again. The service, food, ambience and intimacy of this experience was second to none. Thank goodness we live near Michael's - we will be back.
In case anyone has suspicion or doubt as to the validity of this review, I make the following comments. First, no one could pay me to extol a restaurant I've never been to, even after I dined there. Second, I have no vested interest in providing commentary that is either laudatory or critical. Third, well, my wife and I have had a long time gone and we couldn't think of a better place that we wish to return to experience the feelings and fun that we had that night. Hats off, Michael's!
Excellent prime rib!
The food was amazing! The service was awesome! Perfect place for a valentines dinner. The sunset over Pewaukee lake was perfect.
Best prime rib ever. First time going there. Will be going back. valet person very nice ... it was a little chilly by the window. Seats ...
Great food and friendly staff. Recommend coming here.
Michael's is excellent. You cannot do better for lake Country.
Great place! We'll definitely return! Very friendly staff and great food.
The owners and staff are very attentive to customer service. The food was excellent.
The dining room was so cold we all wore our winter coats throughout the meal. The streaks were cold halfway through the meal. Very pricey since new ownership took over and cuts of prime rib are smaller. Used to be our go to place for prime rib. Not the case anymore. We will not return or recommend
This place is quite unique in many ways. You get a warm welcome from the staff. Service is good and people really seem to enjoy working there. The steak was like butter. The baked potato was cold. Other than that excellent quality food and nice ambiance.
Very good atmosphere. Food was great
This was our second visit; we wanted to find out if our first fabulous visit was a fluke. Plus, I wanted my son-in-law to experience the “duke”; he loved it. The night was just as wonderful as the first, our party of six had no complaints. My daughter is gluten-free and our server was exceptional in letting her know what was “safe”. If you are looking for a relaxed, over the top service, great food, look no further, go to Michael's.
Love this gem! It has turned into one of our standing favorite spots!
Fantastic, flavorful filet, cooked to perfection. Great fish fry. Love that the take reservations on a Friday night.
The Brothers were very gracious hosts. We will be going back SOON!!! The food was excellent.
Love love love Michael’s !!!
They have the absolute best prime rib!
Always a great experience, plus our bartender was amazing!
Delicious steak and prime rib. The lobster tail was very large.
A real treat! In the past Michael's was know for it's wonderful Prime Rib, absolutely delicious. The new ownership has expanded the menu and the results are great. The service and friendly atmosphere compliment the food. The owners are always there to greet you, they are really nice people! My favorite restaurant in the area.
It was a great experience with great food
Great food, even better service. Can’t really ask for much else!
food was very good and service was excellent. Timing of the reservation was honored.
Another great meal and this time we brought friends.
Drinks were really good. Two of our members had the cod and shrimp and they were just OK. Potato pancakes were hard and not very flavorful. Prime rib was the best meal and I would say was one of the best that I have had in the Lake Country area. Another member had the petite filet and said it was good.
Service was ok almost kind of slow.
I would tell people to go there for Prime Rib.
Overall it was a good place to go.
The food and service was excellent. The aesthetic of the environment was nice, but it was a bit loud. This is not a fault of the restaurant - if anything, there's a reason it draws such a sizeable crowd. The food is relatively pricey, but overall, I think it's worth the price. If you order the steak, prepare for a large, but delicious, portion.
We have been to Michael's house of prime many times and ALWAYS had a great steak meal. This past Friday however, I decided to try their fish fry instead of a steak and it was very disappointing. The fish had very little flavor, and the breading was bland. Also, the "potato pancake" was a frozen hashbrown, deep fried. It was also disappointing - we will stick to our steak there as it is always outstanding!
The craft cocktails and the bar atmosphere was excellent, as we have experienced in the past.
Food- Prime Rib was awesome. Small place but reminds me of old style supper club, waited extra 40 min. beyond reservation to get seated. But would go back
Incredible amount of food before meal. Potato salad, coleslaw, relish tray. Rye bread was dry. Veal liver was overly smothered in wine sauce which over powered the dish. The shrimp/cod combo I ordered was okay. That baked cod was dry and a bit fishy. The shrimp were small but good. The best part of both meals was the potato pancakes.
The bar service was very good. Our waitress was very nice and very responsive to our needs and the food came out and was excellent.
Were looking for a new Friday Fish Fry destination and were a little disappointed. It was okay, but certainly not outstanding. Super small parking lot... Staff were friendly and service was good; not sure I would go back for a fish fry but may stop in next time I am looking for red meat.
We dined out on a Wednesday evening. The crowd was small and the service was excellent, I'm sure partly due to the small crowd. I had the daily special, bone in Filet. It was cooked perfectly and seasoned just the way I like it. The soup of the day was beef vegetable and was delicious. What set the dinner apart was the excellent service from both the bar and the dining room. I will return in the future.
We enjoyed a wonderful filet and veal shank which was outstanding and reasonably priced...very nice wine selection...great night out without breaking the bank
Awesome, friendly folks here! Drinks were good, Thai mussels app was very good, baked French onion soup and sides were great, but the steaks - prime rib & filet - were just okay. Not a lot of flavor.
We had a very lovely time at Michael’s house of prime! The restaurant is very small and quaint, an old school supper club vibe. White linens with real candles on the table. Not the MOST romantic high-end ambiance, but it was nice. The food was very good! My filet mignon was the best steak I’ve ever had. The service was great and the price is definitely affordable, especially compared to other high-end steak houses. We left feeling full and very satisfied! I was very happy with the entire experience. I would love to return 🙂
Bar service was absolutely horrendous. We go here often and this was the worst. Food was very good as always. I hope something isn’t going on here. The staff look frazzled and under pressure even though it wasn’t excessively busy.
My friends and I are a quest to fine the "best" prime rib within a 40 mile radius of our homes. To date we have been to 6 restaurants that advertise Prime Rib. A few we would not return for prime rib. Michael's House of Prime is without a doubt the best thus far. Not only will we recommend it, we will be back to treat others.
Excellent food. Had the Filet, mouth watering, and the Prime Rib, delicious. One of the best bowls of baked french onion soup I ever had. Great service and follow up by staff.
Excellent experience as always. Entire staff took the time to get to know us and make sure we had everything we needed. Both bartenders and the hostess. Plus the food was very good! Make sure you ask for the loaded baked potato, you will not be disappointed!
The food was amazing the the service was better! Hands down best service I’ve had in the Milwaukee area.
enjoyed Michael’s House of Prime as had not been there for a few years.....food was very good and good beer and wine selection.....we will be back
