Had to wait over 10 minutes to be seated with a reservation and there were several seats around. Service was extremely slow. The menue was very limited and the food was average. Sat outside on balcony all of the heat lamps except the one by my table worked. We were very dissatisfied at the end of the meal
Mi Vida never stops to surprise me in terms of both food, service, and the ambiance. They changed their menu since I was here last time and I was pleasantly surprised at their new creations. Cocktails are always awesome, the wine selection is great even for a wine connoisseur like me who is never happy with wine selections (but these are great), and food is out of this world. Highly recommend!
Mi Vida is my go-to restaurant for introducing people to The Wharf. The staff is excellent as is the food.
It is authentic Mexican food - it a place that wants to be trendy - i will try it again
Went there for brunch with a friend. Menu for brunch options was a bit limited, but you were able to order from the main menu. I had Enchiladas Suzie. It was good, but not exceptional. Could have used more flavor. Roasted veggies as a side dish were lovely. Cocktails/mocktails were also good and staff was nice. I didn’t try the mole to see how authentic it is. I would say if you are looking for very authentic Mexican food, you might want to try somewhere else. If you are looking for location and ambiance either for friends’ get-together, date, and maybe business with some great drinks and don’t mind the price then check the restaurant.
Very good guacamole and chips, good tacos, great margaritas. Very good service. We ate outside which was pleasant. Overall, a good experience, but a little pricey for pretty simple food.
Nice views, parts of restaurant itself were very attractive, others not so. Service was pleasant & attentive. Temperature was poorly set inside. Despite their best efforts, it was freezing. Food a bit above average.
Restaurant staff were responsive - we arrived early for our reservation, but were seated anyway which we appreciated on a hot day. However, I can't say that we enjoyed our food - for one think it was luke warm at best - suspect it was sitting out for a while before being served. I am a huge fan of huevos rancheros, but this was honestly the worst version I've ever had. Sadly we won't return.
Nice place, great location. Food was very good. Very nice waitress. I gave it a 4 star, food portions were on the small side.
Server was fantastic and the food and drinks were actually all great. I did the family style brunch and every item was worth it!
Awesome place. Loved the fresh food !
Our waiter was excellent. I wish I remembered his name..but he definitely added a flare to my birthday celebration.
Coming from Mexico City, I have got to congratulate Mi Vida's Chef Santibanez for having a menu and preparation of dishes perfectly aligned with authentic Mexican recipes and ingredients. Also the assortment of Tequilas and Mezcales is outstanding. Keep up the good work.
Great service, food is well prepared, drinks are phenomenal. Extremely soothing after a week of work to eat outside with breathtaking views of the waterfront. The team at Mi Vida knows how to treat its customers.
Overall great experience. The guacamole was amazing! The customer service was above and beyond my expectation!
Food, bar, atmosphere were all wonderful! Very reasonable & fun! Would definitely go again.
Our third visit--there are so few choices with openings on Anthem concert nights. The food is spotty--sometimes very good, sometimes not. Our fish tacos were fishy and dry, the pork tacos and their take on nachos, plus their rice and beans, were delish. Good service, BUT we were again shunted to less interesting part of the second floor--anyone over age 50 ends up there I think. And worse, it was absolutely freezing, to the point our wives, with sleeveless tops (it was nice outside) had goosebumps and runny noses within minutes! We asked waiter to see if could be turned down and they did seem to do that, but only for a couple of minutes, then icy cold air began blasting down again. Our wives left us to pay and finish meals and beers so they could warm up outside--not a good experience--thankfully the concert was awesome.
I remember my first time there a few months back, we were at the bar in the 3th floor and, I ordered wings and when they arrived my first bite was terrible, undercooked 100% no manager came and talk to us at all
So we decide to give another chance and all was good and delicious wings.
On a side note, I think the staff needs to remain with all the uniform on even if the table already closed the tap.
Loved the food and the service. I requested one outside table because the noise level inside was too high for me. Except for that, the restaurant is amazing.
This is a fun place to go in the Wharf District. The food is good and the view (at least from the outdoor seating) is great for people watching. We arrived about 15 minutes early, were greeted promptly and were seated right away. Our server was very friendly and efficient. The margaritas were great, but were on the small side. We liked that they salted only half the rim, for both those who liked salt and those who don't. Fish tacos were as good as I've had anywhere, including the streets of Baja. The mole on the enchiladas was some of the best we've tasted in the DC area - rich, savory, smoky, with just a bit of heat. We enjoyed our meal and the atmosphere, and would certainly dine at Mi Vida again.
It's overpriced but the area is fun and food is good.
Food was decent, but not great. We were rushed through dinner - were brought our food maybe 5 min after we ordered. It wasn’t hot, which leads me to believe it wasn’t cooked upon order. Overall, we felt very rushed, we had planned to eat and drink for a good amount of time and ended up spending 35min in the restaurant.
We’re always looking for new Mexican restaurants in DC, but were really disappointed.
Loved the food. Much quieter sitting on the porch with a wonderful view of the water.
The food was good and our wait staff was good. The restaurant is extremely loud. Also, we had not even finished our appetizers and our entrees arrived at the table. Too rushed and too loud.
Everyone was attentive and gracious! The food was amazing. The mole divine. Such a fun evening. We shut down the place! Sorry all for having to wait for us to finish our wine. Thanks for a great evening!!
It appears that Happy Hour would be the time to go. This place has great guac. The chips are good. Drinks are alright. Beers and wine are very good. But in non-Happy Hour - prices are steep.
Sat outside on the 2nd level - awesome! Guacamole was excellent as was the entire meal!
Sat on the balcony and enjoyed the view. The food was delicious and the staff attentive. Will be back.
Nice restaurant. Food and service disappointing.
It's delightful to be on the water eating delicious food. My only criticisms are that the music playing on the deck is very annoying; I'd rather hear the water lapping, the boat horns, and the people walking by the water. The other one is that there are very few gluten-free items that are also vegan (I know it's a lot to ask and I REALLY DO appreciate the attention on the gluten issue.)
Food was good, but service was ok. The server wasn’t clear about the menu. Things were way over priced for little amounts of what you got. Tables were too close together
Excellent food and high quality cocktails!
Loved, only knock on it was that the upstairs was so dark it was hard to see the menu (yes I am old).
Great location and ambiance. Guacamole with bleu cheese and grapes is the best item on the menu and worth getting! Otherwise, the tacos we had were very mediocre and the margaritas were ok. It is overpriced for what it is.
The food was very good. The ambiance is excellent and the location is great.
The food and the service were great. We truly enjoyed the food; and the decor of the restaurnat and their serving plates were unique.
My friends and I arrived for dinner on a Tuesday evening. The hostess upon entering was very nice and pleasant. We asked if it would be possible to sit upstairs in the balcony area, and we were notified that it would be a 45 to an hour wait. No big deal, we'd sit at the bar upstairs. Upon ascending the stairs, we met another hostess who informed us that we have to check in with her to book the balcony. Again, no big deal, the wait time was the same. However, the hostess upstairs came off as cold and disengaging. The complete opposite of our experience with the hostess downstairs.
The bartender was pleasant, but seemed flustered with orders. I assume it was from the private party in the other room because the bar was not crowded. He poured a good wine though.
We get seated, and our waiter was very attentive with great suggestions and recommendations. We ordered the crab empanada and guacamole as a starter. Those were good. For our entree, we had ribs, ceviche and a burger. The entrees lacked in flavor. The ribs themselves were good, but the sauce was too smokey. The ceviche was not ceviche. It tasted like they just blanched the fish and brought it out. No citrus flavor at all. Ceviche is supposed to be cooked in lime juice. The burger was burnt and had no flavor. I had asked for medium well, and with cheese, but received well done, no cheese. This was on the kitchen staff, not the waiter as it showed up on the receipt, which he took off after I saw it.
Overall, I wouldn't go back unless friends REALLY wanted to go, or if the word of mouth reviews go up.
Portions were huge, too big. Ordered what was supposed to be an appetizer. Could have fed a family of four for a week. Of four people, no one finished their servings. Food was too spicy without warning. Prices were high, but not outrageous. Great view from outdoor, top balcony. Downstairs unbearably noisy.
The food was fantastic. Several of us had the three tacos and another had the enchiladas. The food quality is very good and sitting on the patio is the only way to go on a nice day.
