The highlight of the meal was the Otoro... it was, hands down, the very best Otoro I’ve had in Houston and beyond.
My foodie friend and I ordered many items, including a specialty Santa Barbara Sea Urchin. The dood was very good, but, other than the aforementioned Otoro, nothing stood out as spectacular. Between the two of us, our total, including the 20% tip we left was well over $300.
Although our server was very friendly, the overall “poor” review is due to someone - maybe the manager - coming over and telling us that others were waiting to be seated, so could we please hurry.... I kid you not. I was appalled. Hence, I’ll never go back, and I will tell anyone who asks that MF knows nothing about maintaining a gracious dining experience.
Amazing food and atmosphere! Had the new wagyu beef skewers and they were amazing!!!!
Very good quality food 🥘
incredible chef's menu at the table. want to try the omikase next.
The food was excellent, everything else was not. I’m not sure if it was just an off night, but the feel of the place was drab and depressing. From the hostess to the waitstaff, no one seemed happy to be there and made no effort to conceal that fact. It’s so weird and hard to explain, but everyone seemed miserable, to the point where my husband and I felt out of place with our laughing and having fun. My husband and I talked about whether we would go back to MF Sushi after this experience, and we both agreed we would rather not. The food was great, but there are so many great restaurants in Houston with both excellent food and a good atmosphere. We were celebrating our 5th wedding anniversary and wish we would have gone somewhere with a more pleasant vibe.
We loved it!
Best sushi in town with a great waitstaff. Trina is great.
Food was delicious, service was SO quick - loved our first experience here!
Delicious, as usual!
Great food, ambiance, place
I would rate this restaurant on par with some of the best Sushi restaurants in New York City.
Hero san,the sushi chef is a master at making and presenting his preparation (Omakase).
The waiters are friendly and efficient and take the trouble to explain everything.
A Sashimi dinner for 2 with a couple of beers could set you back for 250$ which I think is a bit pricey for the Houston market.
Outstanding! Excellent service! The best sushi I've had in Houston.
Had a great time
The Omakase was amazing.
The best Japanese style food in Houston. The freshness and presentation rival similar upscale meals I have had in Tokyo. In my opinion less hype and higher quality than Uchi.
always a great experience at MF. best sushi and service in the city
Best sushi in Houston. Wonderful wait staff. Always a 5 star experience.
We love MF Sushi! The quality of the sushi is very consistent and always amazing and the service is fantastic!
Honestly I wasn't too impressed by the food but the service is top notch. I would definitely visit again and try something different from the menu.
Fantastic! Almost like Japan. Best in America and I come from Vancouver
It was phenomenal like always never have an issue.
Absolutely phenomenal sushi!
This is my new go to sushi place! Fantastic!
Girls night out for a birthday. Nice atmosphere and chill.
some of the tables are very close together, booths are more private
Amazing experience, service impeccable, expensive af, tasing is worth it.
Gray food! Ambiance, decor, service!!!
As a father of 4 daughters, always great to satisfy family birthday dinner requests at MF. Top quality fish, and both traditional and innovative dishes. Don’t miss the Omakase !!
Loves the atmosphere and the design of this place, especially the wall behind the sushi chef table, it makes me feel so calm and relax. The quality and the freshness of sashimi is one of the best in houston. The service is very good as well.
Delicious! Best sushi in Houston so far!
Always get the Golden Eye Snapper
The best sushi in Houston
The first time in over a year that I’ve dined at MF Sushi. The sushi and sashimi pieces seemed smaller than usual. In particular, the nigiri was smaller which is fine for consuming less rice but the fish was both smaller and thinner than it has been in the past and than I’m used to. Good to great selection of different types of fish besides the usual. High quality too.
Food presentation, quality, and service was top notch. Definitely the best sushi in town
Always a great experience. Food is on a different level then other places. MF is in a special class
Sitting at the sushi bar at the far end. It was unpleasant hearing the servers announce, sometimes VERY loudly, every time they entered the kitchen.
Probably the best sushi I’ve ever had!
Love it. Great sushi. Great service
Not a sushi guy, but Id definitely come back here again. Its clean and sharp not all that much to look at inside but once you get great sake and outstanding food going, your not going to even think about it.
