   I got a message the day before our booking (made in January as this was a special event) to say we would be outside! In March! Not impressed. To add to that, their systems were down and they had no clue how to manually take and process orders. Everything took ages and it was really cold sitting outside. We looked forward to a leisurely meal and instead we ate fast and went elsewhere for dessert! Would I risk going back again? Hmmm…

   Some of the food was not of the best quality, a pizza was overdone and a bit on the burnt side. There was no possibility of changing the menu choices by adding mushrooms to pasta as an example. Most of the meals were good apart from a pizza and a past dish that was a bit on the dry side. We would return though as overall we were happy. It was quite expensive but I guess London prices.

   I booked lunch for 2 at Mezzanino, and I couldn't have made a better choice. Everything about the place is excellent. We arrived 1 hour before our scheduled time, the place was empty, and the maitre d' quickly seated us and set up a table for 6 people so we could sit wherever we wanted. The place is quite small, which makes it more intimate, without the noise and crowds that are common anywhere in London, especially on a Saturday afternoon. I lived in Sicily and Italian food is one of my specialties. I have never been to another restaurant in London with food so close to the original, from the starter to the main course: portion size, preparation method, ingredients, flavor (no pepper). The wine list is small but the choices are spot on. The background music (mostly Italian) is also current and spot on. The entire staff is friendly. If it were possible, I would give it more than 5 stars. Mezzanino is definitely one of the best (if not the best) Italian restaurants outside of Italy today. I will definitely be back many times. Congratulations to the Chef and the entire team.

   Everything was fine but the price can be fixed 40 to 45 pound including main and drinks
