   We tried Mezz as we wanted fine dining but a break from Steakhouses. We had reservations at 6pm on a Friday and the restaurant was dead save for parents with young kids. Maybe it picks up later but there was no ambience in the dining room. The sea bass was over-priced for being lightly seasoned with salt n pepper and otherwise bland. Money is better spent on a steak or seafood house. The flight of red wine came with three uninspiring and not that tasty flavors. A glass of your favorite wine would be better. All in all an experience we will skip next time.

   It was dead, yet service was still terrible. The floors were also so slick I almost fell twice (34 years old and fit).

   Good food. Nice decor. Our server was attentive despite being swamped. The restaurant and kitchen were. Swamped with Restaurant Week business. We had to wait for a table for 45 minutes with a reservation. Dinner took a long time coming to the table. One entrée was sent back because it was ordered medium well and came medium rare. After another long wait, we were told they burnt the lamb chops and couldn't be served, and that was the last of the meat. Had to order another item. Despite all of this we will go back because the food is delicious. We just won't go on a Saturday night or during Restaurant Week.

   The Meze NW surburb Restaurant week was outstanding!! We had a great time and a great 4 course price fixe meal with appetizers (the best was the lamb rolls), the salads and lemon chicken orzo soup were outstanding and the lamb shank dinner and the sea bass were fantastic and the sour cherry dessert was good as always. Great service and the manager was super.. place was hopping!!

   The food was good, but my lamb was room temperature. The lemon soup was very good but it seemed like everything was over powering with lemon. My friend had the Chicken Riganati and I tasted that and all I tasted was lemon… I understand the majority of Greek food is cooked with lemon, but I do want to be able to taste my meal not just lemon. The Brussel sprouts were awesome.

   It was ok. Saganaki was cold so we ordered a second and paid for both. The second was burned. The baklava was soggy and tasted rancid. Everything else tasted fine. Service was very slow.

    A group of 4 went here for first time for dinner. We will definitely be going back. Food was wonderful and service was exceptional. Some of the best Mediterranean food I have had.

    We live in the NW suburbs and enjoy Greek dining so when we heard about Meze, we visited. The other Greek restaurants we enjoy are farther away. The difference between them is that Meze is not traditional. The menu excluded many of our favorite dishes. The focus seems to be on a modern version of Greek cuisine, perhaps to attract a younger crowd. I enjoy a traditional Chardonnay. There were 2 choices. One was not recognizable as Chardonnay. The other was unoaked. Our server tried, bringing me samples of each. They just didn’t have have the choices. They were out of our favorite appetizer so we ordered saganaki which tasted sweet, not as savory as it should. We both ordered sea bass, normally prepared without breading which dries it out. It was OK, but very dry, not flavorful. The young staff was accommodating and very nice. I wish them success, but we won’t be back. Driving an extra 30 min to the more traditional Greek Restaurant we love is well worth it, knowing the menu has plenty to offer and the food is consistently delicious.

    The filet melts in your mouth with a garlicky butter topper. A must-have is the avgolemono soup. Other than homemade by my Greek friend, I have never had better anywhere. Suzi was our server and she was attentive without being intrusive. Every table was taken in the dining room and the service remained consistently top-notch throughout.

    Waistaff nonexistant! Awful awful service. Took 45min just to get waitress to order drinks and apps! Definitely waitress was inexperienced. Food was decent to good but don't order their steak, chef does not know what medium rare is. Have had lunch here as well, lunch is better IMO. Only positive is ambiance is nice

    The food was great. We decided to order “Mezedes”(Appetizers”), instead of individual meals. It was a good decision! This approach allows your party to sample a variety of dishes and flavors and to make decisions for subsequent orders. Almost all of the dishes served were excellent and plentiful for a party of four. I highly recommend this approach. Ambiance was very nice; not overly loud, and the tables well spaced, providing a comfortable setting. Service was good and at no point our party felt rushed. Highly recommend this restaurant!

    Really great food and priced well. The small plates were more like medium plates so great for the price. Live music on the bar area was nice. We sat on the heated patio and found it quite pleasant. Service was a little slow but no big deal.

    We went with a group of 6 and ordered family style. The only thing anyone liked was the calamari and the trio of dips. Spanikopita was standard but ok too. The saganaki looked and tasted like it was sitting for days. Fish was dry. Everything else completely unmemorable. Service at the bar was good, at the table not so much. Save your money.

    We just had appetizers and wine. The Brussel sprouts and Meatballs were very good. We asked to sample a geek wine and waitress was very helpful. We were old friends visiting so she pretty much left alone. At the end however when we went to leave we did have to go search for her. Which was fine it was the end of night for her. Overall lovely restaurant and would recommend. Music in the bar and happy hour special!

    We had eaten at Mezes for lunch once before. We had several appetizers and wine. All okay. This time we took the family -ten people. We waited 40 minutes for wine alone. The servers were not knowledgeable nor did they seem attentive. We were certainly spending a lot of money for our dining experience and we had hoped to impress our Greek family members with a spectacular Sunday dinner. There were two other large parties and not enough staff in our opinion. The food was slow to come out and was not good value for the money. Two of us ordered the Sunday lamb special and it was very greasy. The Alan with orzo that another person ordered was good. Saganaki avaerage but not even flamed tableside. The grilled octopus was tasty but few pieces for the price. The fried zucchini was very good. Avgolemeno soup was very good. Horta too many pieces of chopped garlic. The fish fish was good. Souvlaki steak good. Filet minon was very good. The red and white wine were both good from Santiorini. In fact the best part of the meal. All and all we were sadly disappointed with food and service

    Food was delicious. Our biggest "disappointment" of the evening was that the saganaki was not lit on fire upon arrival to the table. Otherwise environment and food was great. Very comfortable environment. Service felt a tiny bit slow at some points but overall was very good. Dishes were cleared promptly which is excellent. We will definitely be coming back here.

    Extremely extremely short staffed. Maybe 3 or 4 total wait staff for the whole restaurant. Food was great but simple things like refilling drinks, clearing dishes, having to ask multiple times for to go boxes and even waiting for the check.

    Meze is an experience. They’ve taken great care to make this one of the best restaurants to visit in the Chicago area. You feel like you’ve left the suburbs and been transported to the Mediterranean when you walk through the doors. The food, drinks, music and ambiance topped with great service makes this a great getaway no matter what time of year in the Midwest.

    We have been to this destination 3 times on News Years Eve, but was somewhat disappointed this time. The serving staff was very accommodating and friendly, but the food was an unpleasant experience. They ran out of two of the designated entrees for the evening, and the 8 oz. filets within our party were over-cooked and over-salted for some reason. Lastly, the DJ was playing music that was strange for the occasion, and probably was the reason most people left the place by 12:30 AM. In past years, this place rocked on News Years Eve, but sorry to say this time it fell far short of expectations. On a positive note, the cocktails at the bar were well done.

    Amazing food!! Best filet I’ve ever had! My friend had the lamb chops and they were cooked to perfection. Went for NYE, and even though they were busy, they were so accommodating. Ambiance was beautiful, definitely recommend for a date night or a girls night out. Bar/lounge was fun with the dj and singer. Outdoor patio seating has fire pit, stage, and bar which I’m sure is awesome for summer get togethers. Restaurant has a friendly vibe and their staff goes above and beyond! This was my first time here and will definitely be coming back!

    The food was incredible, the management and host staff was fabulous, but our server was very underwhelming- we weren’t greeted until almost 30 minutes after being seated! this was remedied by the manager stepping in to bring apps, however the service from the server remained subpar throughout. overall, management took care of us, the space was great, and the food was awesome- would definitely go back! just hope we get a better server…
