We had an amazing Anniversary dinner at Mexta. The overall ambiance was fantastic. The decor really transported us to Mexico. From the moment we walked in the service was impeccable. Our waitress (I forgot her name, lovely young girl with a full arm sleeve tattoo) was polite and helpful. She had great recommendations. When we got to our table they had a cute sign to say “Happy Anniversary”. The drinks we well made and unique. We ordered Guacamole (with chicharrones), Hamachi ceviche, bone marrow (with onions), smoke filet, and Baja tacos. Everything was great! Well seasoned and classic Mexican flavors. They really went above with complimentary lemon spritz for our anniversary as well. No other restaurant has ever done that. I highly recommend dining at Mexta, we will be back!

Nowhere close to worth the price. Somehow more expensive than Este, ATX Cocina, Suerte etc in the same category, but completely mediocre in comparison. Cocktails are minimum $20, are you serious?

This was our first visit to Austin and we wanted great places to try the food. Mexta did not disappoint! The guacamole and ceviche were very fresh. The filet with black mole sauce was one of the best steaks I’ve had. Can’t recommend enough.

Wow was Mexta a great spot! A fantastic menu with something for everyone in our party of 8 including vegetarians. Cheyenne our server was outstanding, knew the menu cold and made excellent recommendations for food and beverages. The restaurant was beautiful and had great ambience but the food was by far the star. Every dish carefully curated interesting and delicious. Get there if you haven’t been!

It was highly recommended and it did not disappoint. The food was excellent +++. Red Snapper w/pistachio cilantro sauce was my choice and I am going back soon to have it again. Margaritas were so good and so balanced in flavor(s). The 4 of us that had dinner thought it was awesome!!? Absolutely recommend it.

Nice-ish place but for the price and being in Texas, especially Austin, it’s a dud. Nothing really makes sense. Boring ceviche, and we added salsas that require you to spoon them onto the FOUR corn round chips they bring. Guac was good. Drinks are boozy but just not cohesive. Had a drink with a bunch of ice cubes in it like I was at home drinking a coke with ice from the fridge. Got the lobster roll for the “main”. Eh... Never knew lobster needed so much mayo and sauce because it’s such a disgusting meat…. Probably the worst roll I’ve had. Glad I didn’t splurge for filet. Service: here’s your app. Here’s your main. No explanation of what the heck the side sauces are, how to use them properly, ect ect. But at least attentive. I can’t see this place lasting. It’s a rough concept with rough ideas. Nothing really note worthy.
