The food and service at the Met are always outstanding. The atmosphere is great. The staff is always awesome. I highly recommend it for every item on their menu. Surprisingly even though it is primarily a steakhouse, the clam chowder is as good as I have ever eaten!

Father's Day dinner was a bit dissapointing. Apps were just okay but the big problem was my undercooked steak which shouldn't happen at a top notch steak place. This was not the Met we remember from years past. The only thing that saved it was a nice server and the tableside bananas foster which was amazing as always. But their steak game missed the mark. Couldn't tell the Prime from the Waygu and my medium well came out more like rare - cold and jelly in the middle.

The staff was friendly, polite and served us well. I believe the owner of the restaurant or at least the manager was there and also displayed the same grace. He took our picture outside the restaurant. Great experience.

A friend and I decided to dine at the Metropolitan Grill before attending a show. We started with a Caesar salad that had a light and tangy dressing. Butthe main show was the chateaubriand for two. Choice of potato, we chose the mashed potatoes, they were creamy and satisfying. The meat was cooked to perfection, carved tableside, with their cliff sauce created during the process. Meat presented alongside the potatoes, a roasted tomato and mushrooms. We had leftovers. We also ordered a bottle of moderately priced wine. We caught our Uber and off to the show. The Metropolitan has changed since I dined years ago - it is a lot less stuffy than it once was. Greeted by smiles, friendliness, and a helpful team there to provide the very best service. Things to know before you go. It's pricey, but we thought it was worth it. The gratuity is automatically added and is retained by the restaurant, but the staff earn a commission on the receipts - we both thought this was an excellent way to handle tipping. Diners aren't expected to tip additional.

Very pricey steakhouse.......old school but could use a freshening up! The overpriced prawn cocktail was disappointing.....tasteless prawns, simple cocktail sauce. The cesar salad was not close too being a good traditional salad. My ribeye was good but come on......close to $100 should be outstanding. My wife had a top sirloin....she needs lean meat and this was it, nothing grass-fed available. The dish did include potatoes......frankly, this was the best item of the night. Martinis were good but very small. We ordered dessert and they brought us a piece of carrot cake with ice cream big enough for 5 people....seems a bit wasteful frankly. Our server, Jade was very good. The bill included a 20% service fee that apparently went to the restaurant and we were expected to tip server on top of the 20%, I guess......server explained to us that they get a commission but no tips....very confusing and it became a complicated business transaction all of a sudden. Way overpriced in my opinion, no need to return and would recommend going to one of the many other steak places in Seattle.
