Great first date spot! The birthday cake/candy platter was everything btw. Great service, too!
I will say the service was really good! Food not so great. Ambiance is to much like a late night dance club for a 6pm dinner reservation.
Wasn't enthralled with this place. Our table right by the door and speaker didn't help (so, so loud and bright sun shining in my husband's eyes the whole dinner), but overall it was ok food at a high price. We were there with a pre-fixe menu that helped, but had we paid full price it would have been ridiculous. I appreciated the gluten free options, although wasn't super trusting of them when the waitress mentioned cheese related to gluten (clearly thought there was gluten in dairy).
Sat at the bar and had a great experience. Mike, the bartender, was very friendly and not only made excellent cocktails, but offered solid recommendations. They were very busy when we went, but the staff was still very attentive and the very high quality food came out quickly. I will be be back for sure and will recommend to my friends in town.
The food was so delicious and service was excellent. Will definitely be recommending this place to visitors, and coming back when we’re in town.
Food was very good and much more than we expected. Margaritas were amazing! Music was loud and parking was very difficult to find. We'll go back, but not on a Saturday night.
It was a younger crowd but food was excellent.
Everything was fantastic! From the Apps to Dessert! *chefs kiss* 10/10 would recommend!
We had a very nice time, but the menu was limited. We ordered chips and dips as an appetizer for the group. The avocado dip and salsa was very bland. The best part of the meal was the Petron Manhattan - very nice take on the cocktail. There was nothing special abouth the entire meal, other than the service. The server was very friendly, upbeat, and helpful. With so many great restaurants in Charleston, we will probably not visit this one again.
The margaritas were outstanding, and the fish tacos were the best I’ve had in years. I’m picky about my guacamole, and I thought there’s was just so so
Poor service. Cramped. Expensive drinks. Didn’t bother ordering food.
Our waiter was excellent but hostess and other staff came off as very unfriendly. Food was horrible but service was still solid. Drinks were mediocre. Atmosphere is very loud and fun which was great for our group but would not recommend if you're looking for an intimate date night. Only 1 restroom per gender and no space to wait for restroom = poor design.
EVERYTHING was perfect for a semi-casual evening. We brought our daughters and a group of their friends for a birthday dinner. Every part of our experience was wonderful. The hostesses were welcoming and our server was efficient and accommodating. Delicious food. Great atmosphere for a group.
Mesu was great!
Great place for really good mex and sushi with awesome music that keeps you moving. Well I know I couldn’t keep still😉. Cool, casual atmosphere. Really cool staff too. Loved it!
Read the reviews online and saw the one and two star reviews but this place was recommended by a colleague so we decided to try it out anyway. Music was loud and not conducive for conversation at the table. Waitress came by to take our order and was training another server. Asked for recommendation and about portion sizes and she provided us with the information. Ordered the trio appetizer and it was good but portions of guacamole, queso and salsa we small…chips were plentiful…probably enough for two trio orders. We both ordered the tacos…they came out very quickly. My colleague order one fish taco and one veggie….I went with two veggie tacos. The fish tacos were good (I’m told) but the veggie tacos which were disappointing. Heavy on the quinoa with some asparagus and corn…no flavor at all. I asked for hot sauce and was offered Chalula…great except the only hot sauce in the restaurant was apparently the last few shakes in the very last bottle. The waitress said she’d check the storage room but neither she nor the waiter in training returned with more hot sauce or to say they were out. Probably an OK place to stop for drinks and late night snack after drinks…can’t speak to the sushi but with so many other great restaurants downtown, I’d skip this place if you’re looking for a memorable meal.
Food and service were okay. When our food was delivered it was cold. Our server had taken a break and our food sat during the time. They offered to remake it but it took so long it wasn’t worth staying for. Started off great but nose dived real quick. Not sure if it was a server or kitchen issue
Great food and fun. Service a bit slow but didn’t mind because it was nice to sit and chat with drinks. They forgot our chips so didn’t get them until after our food arrived but all in all we had a good time!
One of the coolest spots in town!
Great spot for drinks and eats. Our server, Lauren was super knowledgeable about the food and drinks. The mango margarita was soooo good. We only had some apps but the queso dip was amazing, the corn skewers were delicious and the chorizo taquitos were so awesome.
Courtney was awesome. We loved her.
The food was awesome! great ahi tuna appetizer, sushi, and tacos. pitcher of frozen margs was on point. i would not want to go to this place with more than one person because it was very loud.
I love the combination of Mexican and Japanese. Both cuisines were done really well. The wait staff was super friendly too. I can't wait to go back!
We did not realize that this is really more of a bar. We made a reservation for 4 and we were seated beside the staff register, which meant unmasked servers were above our backs repeatedly. Worst Covid protocols I've seen so far! Crammed people into tight table spaces and we decided it was not worth the risk. We finished our margaritas and left! We then ate at one of the many restaurants downtown that has some sort of guest/ staff safety protocols in place.
On vacation in Charleston. The concept of combining sushi and Mexican food surprisingly worked incredibly well. The drinks were a little pricey, but the food was fantastic and our server, Anna Catherine, was awesome. We had a fantastic time and would definitely recommend this restaurant.
Fun, energetic atmosphere - awesome food and service!
Just moved to Charleston. Good start!
The food was delicious! Service was definitely too quick.
Visiting Charleston and family was in mood for sushi or Mexican - and we found the best of both worlds. Place was very energetic and loud ( music) and frequented by many celebrating occasions - lots of bachelorette dinners! Service was superb and both types wf food were great!!
First time there- won’t be the last.
Awesome place. Service was outstanding. The Mexican Asian fusion combo absolutely works!!
Nice space. Service was very good (Cheyanne) was very attentive and made good recommendations. The crispy chicken taco was definitely the best of carnitas and fish. Red Salsa was flavorless so not worth ordering.
Had an outside table on a busy Saturday night. Cheyenne provided great service; was personable and very responsive. We chose several appetizers for our dinner: Mesu roll; chicken wings and chicken taco.
Great for that start to our bachelorette weekend! Great service, food and drinks. A little noisy but it was the vibe we were going for.
I think this is my new favorite restaurant in the Charleston area. I loved everything on the menu especially the taquitos and tacos we ordered. I can't wait to return. Our sever was phenomenal, too.
Sushi was good, but service was slow & requests had to be repeated. Wait staff seemed more interested in visiting with each other.
Great experience and outstanding service. Food and drinks both exceeded expectations. Would definitely recommend as a fun/energetic start to a night in the Holy City.
Cool vibe for a drink, they had a good margarita. food was meh, veryyyy loud
We had to make last minute reservations so we were not sure what to expect but we were pleasantly surprised. The food was good and presented well. Prices were reasonable and service was great. It is loud with an energetic vibe so if you're looking g for a quiet dinner this is not your place.
