Meski will marry Ethiopian and Afro-Latin flavors in dishes like a T-bone steak in a berbere-coffee rub, above, served with chile-glazed plantains and pigeon peas.

Meski, named after Fassil's late mother, will serve dishes like sancocho, a Dominican meat stew, infused here with Ethiopian spices. Sambusas will made from yuca, the fried pockets filled with berbere-spiced beef or lentils. As they've developed the menu, German said he's been delighted to notice parallels between his native Dominican cuisine and Ethiopian food. His mother's steak encebollado stew, for example, reminds him of Ethiopian beef tibs.

Please note due to high demand and the intimate size of our restaurant, reservations for parties of five or fewer are allotted a 90-minute dining experience. 120 minutes are allotted for parties of six.

Food was great. High top chairs were a little uncomfortable, but overall great experience will definitely be back.

Loved the lamb, steak, greens and yucca. Service was good but rushed. Some dishes were under seasoned and blah. Did not appreciate being told several times that we only had 90 minutes for our “experience”. Cocktails were good, but didn’t come first and one of our party of four didn’t get her drink till others were half done with theirs and we were there early, so no excuse for being too busy.

Our 1st time dining & it was a wonderful experience. Food was bursting with flavor, great quality and waitstaff was very friendly. We will recommend this to our friends & family. WE WILL BE BACK!

Afro-Caribbean Ethiopian food is the fusion you didn’t know you needed. Meski did not disappoint! The food was excellent! No one in our party had a bad dish. Started with the Sambusas and Steak tibs which were delightful apps. We ordered a few things and shared…the NY strip which was perfectly prepared with a tasty rub and the Platter which I traditionally associate with Ethiopian food was also delish. There were a few more dishes, many drinks and dessert (donuts) that were all excellent. The service was friendly and attentive without being annoying. I’ll definitely return and highly recommend for a bday, date night, night out with the homies or to bring your fam.

Four of went to Meski for the first time and were all impressed by the delicious cocktails, especially the gin martini but not the cocoa puffs cocktail, which is quite sweet. The decor is hip and enticing. The ceilings are high which gives an feeling of space but even with a small crowd it was very difficult to hear each other speak. The menu is relatively short, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. But the dishes are tasty and different - a good mix of Dominica and Ethiopian. If you aren't super hungry then order a few of the very delicious appetizers. The entree's are big enough to share if you are motivated. The menu could be improved with a fish entre. The injera bread is delicious! Parking is notoriously difficult at this location but we were lucky to find a spot right outside. Uber is a good idea if you are going to try the cocktails. Overall, it is a fun spot for a date night out!

Loved the Afro-Caribbean cuisine, and the service was excellent! After dinner, we went downstairs for a nightcap — the bar scene was great too! There have been some comments about the “90 minute experience.” That did not affect us at all. Our server was prompt but never rushed us. And the pacing of our meal was perfect. We definitely plan to return!

Excellent food and service- celebrated my husbands bday here; all the hosts were super friendly and helpful. Good place to go with the entire family. My girls loved the chicken entree and sambusas. The donuts dessert is a must. Will be back

Food was very tasty with just the right amount of flavor. New York strip was delicious. I recommend going here. Can’t wait to go back. Suggest to Uber because there is no parking.
