Meski will marry Ethiopian and Afro-Latin flavors in dishes like a T-bone steak in a berbere-coffee rub, above, served with chile-glazed plantains and pigeon peas.

Meski, named after Fassil's late mother, will serve dishes like sancocho, a Dominican meat stew, infused here with Ethiopian spices. Sambusas will made from yuca, the fried pockets filled with berbere-spiced beef or lentils. As they've developed the menu, German said he's been delighted to notice parallels between his native Dominican cuisine and Ethiopian food. His mother's steak encebollado stew, for example, reminds him of Ethiopian beef tibs.

Please note due to high demand and the intimate size of our restaurant, reservations for parties of six or fewer are allotted a 90-minute dining experience.

We brought our 6 and 8 year old girls for a date night. Our picky little eaters loved the food, as did we. Service and kitchen staff was amazingly friendly and sent over some delicious snacks...just at the right time

Great food and service, but just a bit noisy. Of course we were seated next to a large table of very animated folks having a VERY good time, making it difficult to have conversation at our table. Next time I’ll ask for a table in a different part of the restaurant.

We went for my birthday and I’m so glad we did. The food was so good, the vibes were amazing and the staff was the best. Dominique, Dan and Alonzo downstairs in the lounge were absolute gems. We will be back again!

I had the lamb pasta, samosas and tried a couple of the drinks. Everything I had had great flavor. Was so impressed with the service. Super attentive and very friendly. The lounge downstairs was a whole vibe and did not require reservations. The DJ the Friday night I went played all the hits back to back. Bartenders were so upbeat and added to the experience. Would 100% go again

We had very high expectations for this restaurant given the reviews. I booked our table for our party of six the very day I was able to online. We arrived at the restaurant and were greeted by the server who welcomed us to our “90 minute dining experience “. I didn’t know what she was talking about and so I didn’t ask any questions further.. We told her we needed a couple of minutes to order our drinks. She came back nearly 15 minutes later to get our drink order. We also quickly placed an appetizer order. And then once the appetizers were finished, we placed our dinner order. The food was great. Excellent flavors and choices. The appetizers were pretty small so we had to order double orders for our table. When we finished our dinner, the server asked if we wanted dessert. We said no and she said well you are at your 90 minute limit anyhow. They started clearing the table and we had already asked for the check. A gentleman then came over, which we had assumed that he was the manager. In a very blunt manner, he told us that we were 10 minutes over our dining limit and were we ordering dessert. We told him no, we had already asked for the check. And he said OK good because you’ll have to leave since your time is up. After we left, I looked at the OpenTable booking site for the restaurant. It clearly states at the bottom that parties under six have a 90 minute dining experience. Given that we were six people, this shouldn’t have applied to us. And we certainly didn’t need to be reminded on multiple occasions that we had to leave. Unfortunately, we will never go back. I would never subject myself to this type of treatment at this restaurant again. And the management and staff really need to learn their own limits of parties under six with the 90 minute dining experience.

First time at Meski and it definitely won’t be the last! Everything was flavorful and well-presented. The samosas were crispy and packed with flavor, the chicken and rice dish was seasoned perfectly, and the watermelon-date drink was both refreshing and creative. I really appreciated the warm vibe and attention to detail from the staff. Highly recommend!
