   Fish sandwich with local catch of the day, ono, was excellent! My friend had the eggs Benedict since it was a Sunday and that was a brunch offering. She said it was delicious! Great service!

    First time back here after the long Covid challenges. It was a good experience, but nothing really special. Very inflexible with trying to make small adjustments in the menu options. The burger was very good, nice moist & tasty. Fish, shrimps & chips were a disappointment. Highlight was the spinach florentine & mushroom Benedict, cooked perfectly and so ono! Wish our server was more engaging & personable instead of “on auto pilot”. What saved a lower service rating were the hostesses and support busing staff.

    We love this place, come here all the time. The food tonight was not up to standard like normal. The steak was over cooked (ordered med rare and came out med well). Our guest’s steak came out like he ordered. As always, drinks and appetizers were amazing and service as also amazing!!!

    The main server guy was not too friendly at all. He just did his work and left. Not warm hospitality at all. The busser huy was much nicer. Food has not much choice. Super pricey. The Wagyu Burger was very delicious and they gave us free dessert and a glass of prosecco, so it was very nice of them. Having said that, he was just doing that because they do it any birthday ppl? Just he was nonchalant, After the dinner was done, I went back for something and I saw him at the dining area, he ignored me and did not say a word. Food great, Service sucked...it was too bad it was my friend's and my birthday and the last night of her in Honolulu. I had such a great time at the Merriman's in Waimea Big Island so this was disappointing experience.

    The foods were overcooked and too salty. The waitress and servers are not well-trained. They never took care of our table timely and we felt we are neglected. I will never come back tho this restaurant.

    Merriman’s never disappoints. The current fish special is out of this world good. A must try before they change it. Make reservations as I have noticed a trend over the past 6 months or so that they are telling customers coming there to dine without reservations that they are short staffed and it would be a long wait or you would need to eat at the bar.

    As always excellent! I been a patron since they open. The staff & food is amazing! For dinner table side poke is impressive & delicious. Kauai prawns is unique & delicious. I don’t order chicken wen I go to restaurants but Iron cast chicken is out of this world. It’s a must! Lunch menu has scale down recently. But enough to satisfy your appetite. They no longer serve Filet Mignon. I wasn’t sure how good Sirloin steak would be. Surprisingly it was absolutely delicious. Flavorful, tender cooked to perfection! Merriman’s preparation of the steak is the best out of all the restaurants. Consistency is very important to me. Most restaurants are Hit & Miss. Merriman’s is Spot on!

    Food is salty and uninspired. We've done the other Merrimen's (Big Island, Kauai, Maui) multiple times, food wise, this was by far the worst, even more than a couple of bad specials at the Kauai location.

    Celebrated Mother’s Day! Love the ambience. Service was great. Waitress was attentive and caring. I noted in Open Table rsvp what I was celebrating and they remembered to make my mom feel special. Ordered my favorite, Mac crusted mahi but fish was dry. My mom order a quesadilla but it was small (only one quesadilla, cut into (4) pcs. My mom order white wine (about $14) and I got the blended Honu World (about $15). I recommend the latter. Merriman’s is still one of my favorite restaurants to relax and enjoy good company.

    First time ever at Merriman's- for lunch. Sat outside. Restaurant looked about 50% full at noon on a Monday, mid- May. Brief period of loud noise from passing weedwhacker; longer period of noise from neighboring screaming baby. Entrée was quite good, waitress very competent and pleasant. Very good French press coffee. Lilikoi posset dessert was ho hum. Two moderately-priced entrées, 1 glass wine, 1 coffee, 1 dessert was 100 bucks including 20% tip.

    Not your fault but we were dining al fresco and it was very windy. Service was on the slow side, but it was crowded for Mother's Day. My Wagyu burger had arugula and I found that the I had a hard time tasting the meat because of the arugula's strong bitter taste. I wound up scraping it off. May I recommend using a more subtle leafy green? My wife loves your restaurant and would give it much higher ratings.

    Got there 5 minutes early from reservation, waited 25 min for our table. No communication from the hostess. Finally we were seated, they already have a limited menu, a lot of what we wanted to eat were sold out or not available. Food was good but not what you expect for the price. Ambience is nice and the drinks were great.

    Food and service was great. The flowers they gave out for women/moms for Mother’s Day was a nice touch. The only downside was that our particular table was in the sun halfway through the meal, which made it a little unpleasant from there on out.

    Went there for Mother’s Day, and was fairly disappointed. They didn’t have the short ribs, which was such a bummer but the worst part was they do have a kitchen fee that you don’t know about until you get your bill! I’m not sure if that’s legitimate to do that, but I found that pretty disturbing without letting us know ahead of time.

    Lunch at Merriman’s on Mother’s Day so no surprise that it was busy. Beef short rib and burger were great. Chocolate Purse is a perfect 10. Never a bad experience at Merriman’s.
