   We celebrated our friend’s birthday and it was their first time coming here. We have been here many times. We love the food and the service. Tyson was the best waiter ever. He made the experience so much more fun and enjoyable. We had the biscuits, burger, Mahi special, and the fish and shrimp basket, bread pudding along with their famous mai tai of course. Such a great place!

   Took my husband for happy hour. He really enjoyed the food and whisky. It was a little stuffy as they sat us next to the sunny side of the restaurant but service made up for it. Very attentive. We will be going back for my daughters birthday next weekend.

   Excellent service, delicious food. My only wish is that the seating area on the west side of the patio had a little more ambiance. It was noisy from the street and fewer tables - kind of a separate (not as nice) area. Despite that, we still had a great dinner.

   Love all the Merriman restaurants! The food is local and the dishes delicious! Monkeypod is our go-to, but Merriman’s is a nice treat to a fancy night out. This visit did not disappoint. Try the cast iron shrimp appetizer, and anything with brute blanc! Their specials last night included a bone-in NY strip which was smoked over an open fire. While strangely the meat was a bit cheery, the flavor was to die for. What fun the chef was having making them! The fish is always a fan favorite.

    This is our go-to place for a great lunch. The service was especially good. The greeters are always quick and pleasant. But this time our server was excellent. She was very attentive, friendly and spot on in her timing. We especially love the fresh oysters here and the fresh ingredients in the salads. Merriman’s puts just the right amount of dressing on their salads, sparingly, so that you can taste the ingredients. And this week one of us had the hamburger which is the best on the island, excellent beef, perfectly grilled. Thank you Merriman’s.

    The special of the day was Mahi-mahi and shrimp. It was cooked well but the amount of salt was excessive. I usually like things like salted nuts and potato chips but the entree was just too salty. My mushroom soup was perfect and the staff was accommodating and pleasant. I’ll be back because I live next door but hope they sample some of their finished dishes from time to time.

    Ryan was our server. He was very friendly. Our drinks were great. Mai tai was exceptional. Mahi mahi special was delicious. Expensive but worth it. If I lived in the area I would be a regular. Will suggest this restaurant to everyone traveling to Oahu. Thanks Merriman’s and Ryan.

    The food portions for the main entree (fresh fish fish special) and cup of jasmine rice were very small as compared to the prices charged - $29 for the entree and $5 for the rice. The two small pieces of fish and two small shrimp were well done and too over seasoned. The tips of each of the several small pieces of broccoli were burnt and four scarce slices of mushrooms were shriveled. The hot skillet in which the food was presented was quite small and unimpressive. Also, the pot of coffee was overpriced. Overall the lunch meal was overvalued. In addition, I was not aware of the kitchen surcharge until after I paid the bill and my lunch mate told me about it sometime after the meal. My lunch mate also felt that the entire meal was overpriced.

    Overall, a great dining experience for our wedding anniversary. A complimentary glass of champagne and dessert made the evening special. Alyssa was awesome! Only complaint was i ordered rice and got mashed potatoes. When this was brought up to the server (not Alyssa), he opted to take my plate back to correct the order instead of just offering to bring a side of rice....which Alyssa did after a few minutes.

    Merrimans was our go to place for lunch.. been there numerous times and always walked away pleasantly satisfied.. therefore my son wanted to go there for his 16th bday lunch.. we ordered our food from an awesome server.. we had him before.. Jordan.. we were very excited to get our food.. my son ordered the fish and shrimp chips.. fish had absolutely no taste.. my son took a few bites and was very disappointed. My husband ordered the makai plate.. it was just a bed of vegetables with a piece of ahi… the ingredients in the dish did no compliment each other.. I had to share by chicken salad with my son because he just could not eat his dish.. we walked out of Merriman’s wondering if we should even return…

    Had a reservation for an outside table. Table offered was right near the front door, so asked to sit at other table that was open. Hostess said they just sat someone and we would have to wait a few minutes. Waited over 10 minutes and then they tried to seat us an another table. Then when our waiter served my wife her soup, he didn’t mention the bowl was super hot, so my wife got burned. Was not a good experience. Food was good, but up till that point, it was awful.

    My sister recommended this restaurant to us, so we tried it on our last night in Honolulu. I thought the service was good and friendly but not overly so, and I enjoyed my food and especially enjoyed the lilikoi posset. Everyone was attentive and accommodating and I liked the chill atmosphere a lot. I would definitely like to come back and try more dishes.

    We visited for lunch. The food was good, but not exceptional. Maybe dinner would be better. According to our server, a margarita was served without Cointreau or agave syrup. The drink was fixed by the server, but what was the bartender thinking?

    Very nice restaurant. Pricey but exactly what you'd expect from a restaurant of this caliber. Very clean. Very neat. Knowledgeable servers. Live musician was fantastic. Great place for a classy date.

    Wonderful meal, we shared the daily special, the Niçoise salad, which was perfectly seared Ahi and farm fresh green beans, lettuce, tomatoes, etc. It was happy hour, so we added the pacific gulf shrimp and fries, also incredibly delicious. I had a lovely glass of white burgundy and my husband drank a local Hawaiian beer. The service is consistently the best on the Island which added to a great experience.

    We were there to celebrate birthday. The salad was super fresh, really like from farm to table. The ahi special was very delicious, just right. The server, Tyson, was so polite and thoughtful. We had a great time.

    Restaurant is a bit loud and it kind of drowned out the live music but food was delicious and service by Daniel was even better! They also charge a kitchen surcharge, not sure if we didn’t see it on the menu but we were not notified of that charge.

    Merriman's in Honolulu is our go to for lunch. The food is very good with fresh local ingredients. They have ample parking and it has good wheelchair access. Seating outside if you want but we typically eat inside. Great modern decor and lots of young, vibrant wait staff.
