   Seating was perfect, meal was better than expected! Would def return. Dessert was delish. Waitstaff and server were so friendly. Checked on us, made good recommendations. Nice night cool breeze beautiful sunset. The night was perfect.

   Would definitely recommend. Really nice place with amazing views. Wait staff was so nice and everything was really tasty. Will for sure put on our list to return to on our next trip. Just be careful of the liquor tax.

   We had a wonderful dinner at Meridia. The view from our table was fantastic. Our server, Judy, was excellent! She has a warm, friendly personality. After a very good meal, we were treated to dessert for our anniversary. The cheesecake was the best I have had in many years.

   Donna our veteran waitress was amazing and so attentive and knowledgeable about menu. Sunset View was spectacular at out outdoor table. Food was fresh, hot and so tasty! Atmosphere excellent! Highly recommend.

    Stunning view. Attentive servers. Excellent cocktails. Well prepared entrees. A bit pricey but perfect for a special occasion. Possibly not as well known as Browns or Manta but every bit as good. Definitely try it!

    Our meal was great! The Paella was delish, just enough shellfish and the rice was moist and not dry ! The Chilean bass was delicate and perfectly cooked. The appetizers were great. We had a 3 fish crudo and chicken empanadas. Everything was wonderful. The waitress Elisabeth, was very delightful and informative . All in all I would recommend Meridia to anyone looking for a good meal on the Big Island.

    My party had a reservation. We arrived on time and watched people without reservations get seated before my party. It took 20 minutes for our server to take our drink order. It took another 20 minutes for our drink order to arrive. After receiving our drink order, the server took our order for our main entrees. We watched 2 tables seated after us receive their main entrees and we’re onto desserts before we even received our main entrees. To add insult to injury…our entrees were at best luke warm. For the price of the entrees, we expected that they would not only be hot but they would also have flavor and pizazz. For a meal that cost $400, this was extremely disappointing. The service was subpar and the food was not great. Very disappointing

    One of the best experiences, and the very best food, I've had while living on this island or anyplace else. The creative and well-executed blend of styles, cultures and ingredients was outstanding, the service and atmosphere impeccable. Wish I'd have congratulated and thanked the chef and his staff.

    Was there on 5/11/2023 for our 44 years anniversary . We had duck liver, octopus and paella with a nice French rose. Food was great , service very clean and good, perfect ambiance. We try to go every time we are here, I my view, this is the best restaurant on the island !!!

    It’s always a special occasion in Hawaii! Meridia was excellent—our server, Erin, was outstanding! Very attentive without being intrusive. Food was good but over-priced just like everything on the islands. Caprese salad was excellent, but very small!

    Outstanding service, delicious meals, beautiful scenery, and atmosphere! If I am being picky, the portions were a little smaller than expected for the price. However, I feel like that is totally overshadowed by the overall experience. I loved it and would definitely recommend Merida.

    We arrived and informed the table we had was out on the lanai. It was about an hour before sunset, so the hostess said if it was too sunny, we could have a drink in the lounge and wait till the sun was shaded by the trees. Decided to go to the table since table was mostly shaded. Service was smooth and Erin, our server noticed right away we were not in any hurry. Her team remained attentive and provided great service for the 3hrs we were there. We shared the appetizers and were given small side plates. Hot apps were hot (try the grilled octopus, it’s ono!), cold were cold (oysters were really fresh), also recommend the trio crudo. Again pace was leisurely, as we like it when dining, no rush. Apps were cleared, settings and side plates refreshed before entrees were presented. The food presentations were really nice (have the big island wild boar ragu) and very delicious. Mushroom risotto entree made for a great share dish with the six of us. Churros and chocolate torta with coffee ended a great dinner experience! Will definitely return again!     My wife is extremely sensitive to heat and staff helped us find a great table. When we sat down, waiter did great job explaining specials and gave recommendations. After that, we felt like we were rushed. Took our drink order and asked if we were ready to order dinner. Same question when he brought our drinks. Said we wanted to relax with our drinks and ordered an appetizer but said we didn’t know what we wanted for dinner yet. Enjoying our drink and appetizer, pushed menus to side and again asked if we would be ready to order. Again, stated we wanted to relax a bit before ordering. Wait staff came by and said would you like more bread for $5. Waiter came back and we ordered. My wife’s paella was wonderful and plentiful - too much food in fact. My wild boar dish was tasty, but little meat and also sparse pasta. Mentioned to waiter to let chef know… Waiter came back with dessert menus and we said we’d take a look. 5 min later comes back and we ordered cheesecake to go. Felt like we were being prodded to free up the table. Waiter came back and said he passed on feedback to chef and gave us two pieces of cheesecake Long story, while we indicated this was our anniversary dinner in our reservation but there was no well wishes, etc. from staff. Further, cocktails, appetizer, bottle of wine, dinners and over $300 in less than 1.5 hrs. Not our idea of a relaxing celebration.

    Short ribs were bland at best, and for almost $60, they should have been out of this world. Fish special was okay and small portioned. $75 for this one, ouch! Cheese cake was the highlight of the evening along with our server, Jonathan. Overall, we probably would not come back.

    Italian Paloma and the 'No-groni' for cocktails were decent. Fritto Misto was very good. Lightly dusted in flour with a nice selection of shellfish, and veggies from the garden. Head on the shrimp was a crunchy and tasty treat. Aioli could have used a bit more garlic pop. Burrata salad was good-housemate I believe. Little garnish of fish roe was a nice addition. Tomatoes were ripe and tasty. Wild boar ragu, was rich with a hint of smoke. Topped with local aged goat parmesan. Rib-Eye, pave cut, was cooked to temp (MR), and accompanied by a dino-sized roasted marrow bone which was very tasty. Had a glass of a very good and complex Belgian blond styled ale from local Waimea brewery Big Island Brewhaus with the Rib Eye. We ate at the bar and were treated graciously. Mahalo Meridia.

    Food was outstanding, service was way off. We watched several tables that were seated after us, served and leave before we even received our food. Took over twenty minutes to receive our drink order which we gave immediately upon being seated. We have dined here several times and the service typically is not the highlight of our experience, however, it was especially of on this particular night.

    My wife and I are full-time residents at the Mauna Kea resort. We regularly dine at all of the islands fine-dining establishments and have eaten at Meridia several times. Meridia is definitely the best Mediterranean restaurant on the island and is also one of the island's best restaurants. The food, service and atmosphere are outstanding and there is live music: a beautiful pianist. The prices are expensive but fair considering its location within the Mauna Kea resort.

    We had a celebration for this evening. The entrees and side dishes were not comparable to their price as the portions were smaller than expected. The head waiter was nice but the assistant seemed to rush us as he kept coming by our table taking away our plates very frequently so it was a little unpleasant. Before our dinner, I wrote to the restaurant twice about our dinner plans but no one write back in the Opentable text app which was disappointing. The service was better two years ago.
