We were seated near the bar in the main room. The views looked stunning and the room was magnificent. Service was very good and well paced. The food was good, not outstanding. Overall we had a very nice evening.
Superb. Meridia in the Westin is a lovely island oasis. Perched above the white sand beach. Delicious high quality plates, selection of wines and great service - mahalo Michael. Highly recommend.
It was by far one of my best dinner I ever had, Johnathan was Superb, very professional and attentive the food just excellent, highly recommended well done
I want to recommend it, but the food was over cooked and my bread had a nice big bug.
The staff is amazing! Super helpful to our needs and making sure our dining experience was great with our two kids (6,3). The menu, though great for adults, we found wasn’t so kid friendly. Limited options and generally bland. Our food the steak, cauliflower steak, shish kibab and the bisque we’re delicious! The churro was so just perfect. Views are amazing and overall a great experience.
Dined on the patio with a fantastic sunset view over the water. Food and service were both outstanding. Pictures are of grilled squid and bacon wrapped fig appetizers.
Good overall. Service was fantastic.
Had to figure out open table and put a credit card down for reservation which were set in stone, no flexibility to accommodate our auntie who surprised us for my husband’s 60th birthday and would’ve cost me to change plans to include her. We left auntie behind, arrived on time for our reservation and were asked to wait 6-7 minutes, missing sunset. We have been coming to Hapuna since it opened as Prince and since it changed to Westin we’ve been disappointed. We even had to send a meal back undercooked. I don’t do reviews and if it was only one thing I wouldn’t have bothered, but I thought you should know.
We had a table with an ocean view; beautiful evening and great ambiance. Tables far apart enough that we did not hear other people’s conversations; this may be due to Covid-19 restrictions, but it any case it was very nice. The food and wine were both very good, but top billing goes to our server, Elizabeth, who was delightful. A lovely evening.
Excellent service, especially our server Angel. Not much food for the price.
Friends & Celebrating Life ❤️
The servers were delightful and worked so hard while being very gracious as seemed a little understaffed. Food was good, but steak was not tender and flavorful. Scallops were cooked well, but the crispy noodle was overly greasy. The whole branzino fish was excellent. For how beautiful a setting, we were expecting to be wowed, while enjoyable - fell a little short.
The server kept reusing the same gloves all night. Cleaning off tables, serving food, and constantly messing with her dirty mask. We left mid way through the meal. So disappointing, and disgusting.
Food and service was ok, hostess was not very helpful
Outstanding food and service. Highly recommend eating there. All of the staff were very nice and extremely helpful.
Food was 5 star. I recommend the Ahi Credit and the Churros for desert. The waiter John who was on his second day was OUTSTANDING! The cocktails costing $24 for a routine Hendricks martini was ridiculous. Parking was a hot mess. No way to see where the gate was for parking. No signs indicating parking for Meridia was behind a gate. Had to take a card ($3.00 per hour). Told we had to get it validated at front desk for Westin check in with our bill. But upon eventually finding our way through the maze, we got parking validated at the hostess desk. Leaving was not easy. The validated ticket was not going into the reader. The speaker to contact someone rang incessantly with no help from anyone. Finally a smart aleck valet came out to retrieve a car. He saw my distress and yelled at me to get closer?? I was so close I had no problem sticking my card in slot, the machine did not work. He then clicked his remote and gate opened. Ruined the entire $300 evening (for two). No clear markings where to park, the "validation process" was ridiculous. Honestly, I will not be back. Too bad, the food and service were great. But if Westin wishes to have people pay $30 a day to park for a hotel stay and $3 an hour for other guests, they should just open the lot for Meridia diners at 5 pm and close it at 10 pm. Nobody is going to that secluded, hard to find hotel in the evening that is not a hotel guest or trying to locate the restaurant for dining. Once in the parking garage, the elevators do not provide any instructions as to where Meridia is located. It took quite a few twists and turns, ups and downs to get to the open area in hotel where there was a sign for Meridia. Call me when you have solved the parking issues otherwise there are just a delicious and less expensive restaurants on the Big Island that welcome their guests.
Wonderful as always! Great service and delicious food. Everything is good. I love the tapas menu!
Food was great. Our server, Erin was outstanding. Appetizers alone would have been plenty. Would love to come back.
Michael provided excellent, attentive service and recommendations. The food was excellent all around with great wine pairings. We had a lovely evening.
Food was hit and miss. Oysters, octopus, and grilled fish of the day were wonderful. The server had the kitchen split our entree and plate on separate dishes, which was very nice. Really appreciated that. Do not recommend the charcuterie plate. Complimentary table bread was stale and very airy (not much bite). Service was off - very slow; waited awhile between dishes; dishes served without any description. The waitstaff didn’t seem to coordinate between themselves at all. Also, would have appreciated a call to bring a jacket due to the extreme winds that evening. The restaurant that we dined at the previous night gave us a heads up about the wind.
Excellent food and service. The grilled octopus was amazing! The location is so perfect.
Our experience here was amazing. Stunning view and great food.
Great food and and exceptional setting. Perfect for a romantic celebration.
Food was fabulous! The service was exceptional! Our waiter Jonathan was terrific! Can't wait till my next dinner their.
Understaffed. Had the Rack of Lamb which was fatty. The other 3 in our party were satisfied but would not go out of our way to go back.
The front of the house was not to the standard expected in the Hapuna. We were directed to a table that was behind a partition while there was an unoccupied one with no obstruction. We asked to be moved with a curt reply that she had to ask the front. We had made the reservation 3 days in advance. Of course there was no problem moving.
Beautiful view, friendly staff snd delicious food. We were at Meridia for dinner after our intimate wedding ceremony. The restaurant staff was so complimentary and every person taking care of us acknowledged the special occasion…so nice!
The host was very accommodating and got us a special table as it was my mom’s birthday. Service was excellent, food was amazing (get the grilled octopus) and view/ambiance was stunning.
This place was awesome. Food was great, the view, drinks.. our server was so sweet but took a little long to get our drinks, she just talked a lot so we ended up being there for four hours which is a little too long to be at a dinner. But we’ll definitely be back in the future!
WONDERFUL restaurant! Food delicious, creative and local. Service friendly and professional and WHAT A DYNAMITE VIEW. Probably our favorite higher end restaurant on the Kohala Coast.
Food was awesome service awesome just wished I could see what I was eating
Great dinner. Beautiful setting. Oysters crudo tasty. Ahi appetizer prepared well. Seafood paella was very enjoyable - recommend for sure. Spouse loved wild boar ragu. Highly recommend this restaurant. We will try and come back tomorrow.
Absolutely stunning in every way - you pay for it yet still get excellent value.
Very creative menu. Flatbread was excellent. Portions were good. Very nice quiet seating arrangement, excellent service!
The short ribs had no flavor. The scallops were on a bed of thin pasta that was so oily I felt sick after having them. I had high hopes for this restaurant, but was very disappointed. The reviews I read were great. There was another event at the hotel and this could have been the reason the food was lacking love.
I said it was our anniversary when asked when making the reservation and there was no acknowledgement.
Food took too long, over 40
We absolutely loved the amazing food and service here. Our server Elizabeth was absolutely incredible!
Beautiful location, outstanding sunset, great service and food!
Beautiful setting, yummy food, and decent portions
Amazing view of the white sands and clear aqua waters of Hapuna Beach. The entry to the restaurant is impressive with beautiful grounds and building. Our server was so friendly and service was quick and very responsive. We had a summer beet salad that was very good. The fish special and desserts (tiramisu and sorbet) were also very good — fresh and tasty. The pappardelle ragu was a bit salty and the steak was a bit over cooked, while the pina colada was a bit too sweet for our taste. We enjoyed our dinner and it’s a great place to celebrate a special occasion. It has a nice wine, beer, and cocktail list. We would return.
Great experience with perfectly attentive yet relaxed service. Food was on point featuring many local ingredients & influences.
