Great neighborhood place! Spacious but still cozy, great drinks, great food, and great service. Will definitely go back!
Second time at the restaurant. Tried new items and enjoyed previous favorites. Jessica took care of us both visits. Many thanks. Looking forward to on next trip.
Beautiful build out. Interesting menu. Lackluster service. Average good quality. Music way to loud for Sunday brunch scene.
This restaurant had outstanding food , drink and service.
Our party of 5 had a few craft cocktails that were unique and awesome. There are a lot of options to choose from from the shelfless options, our table had the Mezze platter, duck wings, Deviled eggs and hot chicken sliders. They were all really tasty. Fish and chips and the mushroom salad were very good as well.
Finished off with the Churros and blueberry pie. Just Delicious . Our server My (so) was very knowledgeable and attentive. We will be back soon.
We ordered a bunch of the items on the selfless menu. They were all delicious.
Service and food was great!
Wow! A must! Great vibe, great service, great food, great value. Started off our evening, party of 6, upstairs outside on rooftop patio. Great craft drink menu and cool sitting areas. Back downstairs for dinner with our server names 'My'. She was absolutely incredible. Knew the menu front to back; the ingredients, the time to prepare, the order in which to bring, etc. We ordered the entire night down the left side or the 'share' side. Tried almost everything and it was all incredibly good. The lamb was to die for. Not far from downtown and Uptown; in fact, easy walk from uptown. Make it happen here. You will not be sorry.
I like the place. Serving are small. I order the hot chicken sandwich and got two sliders. 3 would be a regular meal
Good food, ok service, great ambiance.
Had brunch and arrived just a few minutes after opening, so there was only a few tables. Music was a little loud where we were sitting, but they were playing Run DMC and Beastie Boys so who am I to complain? The food and service was great, my wife and I spilt the French Toast bites, billionaire bacon, and burrito. All of it was amazing! Will be back with friends for brunch and dinner as well.
It was a great evening!!!
The biscuits with the Springfield Ham were cold and hard. The chutney the came with it was virtually hard boiled sugar. It burnt my finger it was so hot and then later cooled into hardened sugar. My hot chicken sliders were good. The Mac and cheese sliders were not special. I was unimpressed with the menu. The drinks were fine . I hope you get it figured out because the space is great.
Cool spot for dinner with friends! Food great, and the house is a neat feel with all its different rooms.
Nice restaurant, waiter exceptional, good food. Music to loud, had difficulty hearing our companions across the table
This is the perfect place to go with a group! Cute, cozy feel and very relaxed. Tons of small plates for sharing and can add extra to an order to accommodate all people in your party. The duck wings were out of this world and the pim pim boa buns were to die for...but everything was amazing. Complimentary valet parking, just tip! Service was fast and attentive. The best part is that every table has a lazy susan to make sharing easy as can be! Will definitely return to try the rest of the items on the share side.
Merchant House is such a delight and location is perfect for lunch meetings. We originally had a reservation for three and a fourth person attended unexpectedly. The restaurant was incredibly accommodating and seated us at a booth large enough for four. The service was quick, the food was excellent, and the ambiance was perfect. Love the decor and definitely love menu. One of my associates stated his sandwich was the best turkey BLT he's ever eaten. Thanks for help knock this lunch out of the park!
The ambiance and drinks would be the only reason I recommend this place. Food was sub-par. The stuffed quail was cold in the center and the ceviche was room temperature with little flavor. The house is a cute dining area and the lounge upstairs is super cute!
Her Clarissa, thank you for dining with us. We apologize for your quail being cold in the center and your ceviche being too warm, and the chef has been made aware of this. We work very hard for consistency, and do hope you decide to join us again. We do have a happy hour from 4 to 7 pm upstairs!
Outstanding brunch! Love the lazy Susan on the tables to share the selfless plates. Can’t wait to try their HH.
This is a fairly new spot and has not gotten on the Dallas dining radar. We easily got in at 7:00 on a Saturday night. That won't last as word gets around about the great food and service being dished out here. My acid test is will we go back - the answer is yes and soon.
Great drinks & service... great value for tapas
Merchant house was an awesome dining experience. Very mid century modern inside which we liked and not too crowded because of how they have it laid out so ambiance was very low key. Highly recommend.
Valentine’s Day dinner delight.
We had the prefix meal. Start with an Endive salad with raspberry vinaigrette, followed by filet mignon and grilled scallops with risotto. Ending with a s’mores fusion desert.
We will be back!
We went for lunch and we were so impressed! Amazing food! We will be back.
Cocktails were meh, food was good! The tater tot waffle stack with the smoked trout was my favorite. Service was great, and enjoyed the environment.
The happy hour is on point, and the staff is awesome! The staff are attentive and accommodating. The chicken sliders and fries are life giving! This is the perfect place for all occasions. It’s a gem.
We liked it quite a bit. I would have given it more stars but it was incredibly loud. Which seems to be the norm these days. I was meeting a friend I hadn't seen in a long time and we wanted to talk and catch up. The booth was very comfortable, the setting was cool, service was excellent, food was great. We went for brunch and I loved that you could self park. Don't know if thats the case at night. We both just wished the music hadn't been up so loud.
I’m telling you now- go enjoy not having to wait an hour for brunch while you can ! It’s new and I feel like it’s about to get really known. For now it’s pretty chill in there.
The food is excellent and the staff and knowledgeable and amusing. We’ve been here twice and recommend it to family and friends.
First time to the restaurant since opening. Three of us shared 6 small dishes. Food was good and service excellent. Next time we look forward to trying individual "shelfish" plates.
The problem with such a varied menu is that it makes it hard to do anything exceptionally well. Our pork chop special was only so-so. Seemed a little overcooked and the hash was nothing to wow me. The quail was decent. Drinks were not worth the added couple of bucks more than what we normally pay for specialty cocktails in Dallas. Service was friendly, but even the varied menu threw our server off when trying to describe one dish that ended up being a different one. We ordered the devilish eggs as an appetizer but it came after the meal was served. They apologized and said they would comp them so I assume they did. Turns out they weren't that good anyway so luckily they ended up free!! Next time we'll stick to the BBQ place or the Italian place that are both next door. We've been to them several times without any of the disappointment we felt after coming to the Merchant House.
Service was amazing, especially Lacy!!
I knew little about Merchant House prior to our visit, other than noticing the favorable customer reviews on this site. The experience definitely exceeded our expectations and we really enjoyed the tapas, the service and the ambiance. Our waiter was spot from start to finish and the young lady who seated us was about as friendly as the come. If you like comfort food with a twist you will love dining at Merchant House. There's no doubt in our minds we will be making future reservations at this top notch restaurant.
The ambiance, decor and cocktails were great. I would definitely go back for drinks and a few share-able appetizers, even without reservations just hangout on the second floor. However the food was a little overpriced and the concepts were unique but the quality didn’t quite keep up with the stellar decor.
Great service and food.
Bryan made this a great experience for us. My parents had never eaten tapas style, and our table also had a lazy Susan. All in all came together for a great experience!!
Service was extremely friendly. Appreciated the honest recommendations and energy of describing the food. Plus liked the twists on some of the dishes. Not over priced for what you get
Really great food and service!! Lacy always makes it a great experience.
Ok kind of TGIFriday's kind of atmosphere; mediocre food.
Second time there. Huge variety to choose from. Lamb chops, deviled eggs and the crab mac + jack fritters were delicious. Friendly and fun folks work there. I will be back!
We had a birthday celebration, and the food was delicious and fresh!
