    Méchant Beouf was a very nice place and the food flavor was excellent. However, all of our dishes were only luke warm when they arrived at our table (after a considerably long wait). We considered sending the steak back since a $64 steak should arrive piping hot, but the flavor was great. They forgot the poutine, and when this $28 bowl of French fries with gravy and cheese curds topped with brisket arrived it was also luke warm. We did send this back. While our waitress was very sweet, we did not see much of her and she never asked if we wanted a second cocktail. Overall, I would give it 4 stars. The food was excellent and the chef did a wonderful job so I do not want to penalize them for the time it took the wait staff to deliver it to the table. Perhaps they were short staffed. They did bring us a free dessert to try to make it up to us.

    Au départ on a été accueilli chaleureusement à notre arrivée, on nous a conduit à notre table. L’ambiance du restaurant été juste magnifique avec les petites lampes de table et ce n’est trop éclairés juste parfait pour les sorties romantique. Les serveurs/ses sont très aimable et se soucient des clients. Les plats était vraiment généreux en quantité et la qualité et cuisson des viande était juste parfaite.

    Nice looking place, so loud we had trouble hearing our hostess. Very kind and polite service though. The printer misplaced our order ticket, and they gave us complimentary fried calamari for the wait. We weren't in a hurry, so it didn't bother us any. The cocktail i had was absolutely fantastic, some kind of chocolate peanutbutter whiskey concoction. Whiskey Reeses Cup. The bartender brought it over like he was doing a magic trick. Which i thought was fun I ordered the picanha and if I'm honest it was just okay. I didn’t expect it to be tender as our hostess explained the cut, flavor and temperature were just ok. Fries were edible but the kind that are clearly frozen, kinda pasty in the middle and bland. Veggies fantastic, kudos to that line cook.

    Our best meal in Montreal! The oysters were fresh and delicious, the filet mignon cooked to perfection and the braised beef was amazing. We sat by the large open window and enjoyed the light breeze and world going by. Would highly recommend this restaurant.

    Cozy space in Old Montreal. Loved having the glass covering above. Service was great. We enjoyed the appetizer. Found the food was pricey for the quality of the main meals. Montreal has so many wonderful restaurants and we are typically never disappointed with food (even the mall food court is amazing) but our main meals were mediocre at best.

    This is one of the best steakhouses that I have been in my life. The restaurant surpassed my expectations by far. The porterhouse with amazing sides (salad, mashed potatoes, fries and vegetables glazed) is a perfect plate to share at least between 3 hungry people, it is an experience more than just a meal. Our waitress Chanelle was so professional and thorough explaining the different steaks and options for our order. Everything was cooked to perfection, tasty and seasoned perfectly. The ambience and vibes are great, perfect place to have a great time with friends. I will return here on my next trip to Montreal. Thank you

    Food was delicious, and it has a great relation price-benefit. However the service had nothing of special, even we wanted to have a dessert at the end and it was not even offered, so we decided to go somewhere else afterwards to get a dessert. I gotta remark that was a Friday evening, so maybe the staff was busy, but they didn’t look that busy.

    Fantastic experience at Méchant Boeuf. We were celebrating a milestone anniversary and had a reservation after Aura at the basilica. Our server, Sarah R., offered us complimentary dessert instead of the usual glass of prosecco as she noticed we were looking at the mocktails menu. It was such a nice gesture and we were amazed that she noticed we were not having alcohol before we actually ordered. We discussed with her our plan to order a filet and a strip steak and she suggested that we might do better to share a porterhouse which would be aged. This was a perfect solution for us - we were able to get the aged steaks for close to the same price as the individual non-aged steaks and the shared dish was a nice touch for our anniversary. Our mocktails were great (we really appreciate it when restaurants offer fancy drinks without alcohol).The steaks were perfectly done (medium rare) and we especially enjoyed the mashed potatoes with egg yolk. The key lime pie for dessert was delicious (a personal favorite of ours). The food was all very satisfying and enjoyable. Sarah R. really helped make our night feel special. She was observant, helpful and attentive, but not obtrusive in any way. She provided some of the best service we received on our trip to Montreal and felt very lucky for choosing Méchant Boeuf for our celebration.
