McCormick & Schmick's Seafood - Roseville - The Fountains

Food is mediocre at best and not commensurate with the expense. Service is non-existent. With only a couple other parties in the restaurant at 7pm on a Thursday, the atmosphere felt sad and like a ghost town. Would not recommend outside of maybe the happy hour.
Food and always great
The soup and salad came and 2 minutes later the main courses. Way to quick and crowded the table where 5 of us sat.
I was disappointed because I told the girl at the front desk that it was husbands birthday that day and the waiter did not acknowledge it. I ordered the sea bass which came with roasted vegetables but I would have like more of a variety of vegetables. The plating was also sad with such a big plate, small grilled fish and a handful of vegetables. I ordered a side dish of mashed potatoes but unfortunately they came in a separate bowl.
The food was wonderful. Our server, Chad, was attentive, helpful and very personable. We sat in a “snug” in the corner which was private and quiet. It was a great place to celebrate a special anniversary with family!
Excellent location and good customer service. I ordered from the "Sunset Menu" and found it to have good food options at a reasonable price.
Unfortunately, we had to wait in the bar area for over 40 minutes even with our reservation. It was extremely difficult to even get any waitress or waiter attention to even order a drink while we were waiting. The bar table at which we were sitting was a mess and when we asked for it to be cleaned, the waitress just ran a wet rag over the table and made the entire table all wet. We had to obtain cloth napkins from a nearby table to dry it off.
Once we were taken to our table, everything went much better. The food was excellent and the service was good, although the appetizer we ordered didn’t come until the meal was served.
We will return in the future and hopefully we will receive better service overall because the food was very good. However, if the service isn’t any better next time, it will be our last time.
I first called a week in advance for a reservation but the restaurant did not answer my calls. I call 4 times within 30 minutes until I used Open Table to book the reservation. My reservation was at 6:15 pm. We arrived at the front desk at 6:13pm. The front desk stated they were running behind and that it would be another 20 minutes. I understand if you show up to a restaurant with no reservation and have to wait but a reservation time should be for that time. We were texted when our table was ready which was 6:40 pm. I ordered the 2 North Atlantic Lobster tails which had good flavor but they were small for the price. My wife ordered the filet mignon and it was undercooked. They took it back but when arrived again it was still undercooked. We received a free desert for the undercooked meal. Other aspect was we were done with our dinner and it took a long time for the dishes to be cleared.
Seating was a challenge but once they knew we were LSC we were seated immediately. Server was excellent. Food was very good.
Worst service ever!!! Seated 30 minutes late with reservation. Never informed they were behind schedule & no apology for delay. Ignored for another 15 minutes before we just walked out.
The sea bass was ok, I’ll never order it again! My daughters the Parmesan chicken was also ok. But the wife’s “Jake’s Famous” Bouillabaisse was fantastic!
Server bailed on us but food was great. They can definitely improve the service.
The food was amazing. Great seafood!! Definitely recommend the coconut shrimp appitizer.
We had a reservation for 9pm, and had to wait in the bar area until about 9:30, and then were seated. At about 9:45 is when we were finally asked by the waiter if we wanted to order something, so we ordered another round of drinks and appetizers, but still had no water or bread brought to us. About 10pm is when got our appetizers, but no drinks or bread yet. Then we hadn't seen our waiter for a long time, and when he did stop, we had to remind him about the drinks and bread requests. About 10:30 we finally got more drinks and bread. Then he asked what we would like for dinner. After that, we did not see him hardly, and I was ready to get up and walk to the bar to place a drink order, and try to grab another waitress for more bread. This type of service went on and on... When we were done with dinner, the waiter came around quite a bit later to see if we needed anything else, and we said yes, we would like to see the dessert menu, and then we didn't see him for a while again! So our reservation was at 9pm, and we left the restaurant between about 11:45pm!! We were kept there so long waiting for our food, that we weren't able to go anywhere else thereafter. This was the whole party's first time at your restaurant, and it definitely left a bad impression :( . The best thing I ate was the Oysters Rockefeller and bread. Otherwise, I had the Parmesan Crusted Chicken, and there was not one Caper to be found on the plate, and as for Linguini, it in no way tasted like Alfredo sauce! I feel they might have run out of the Alfredo, because the noodles tasted like they were made with a type of butter sauce, very similar to what I have made at home. I make a Chicken Piccata with lemon Caper sauce, which distinctly has the flavor of Capers in it. So I know what that meal should have tasted like. It was fine tasting, but not what it was supposed to taste like. We live about an hour and half away from the restaurant, and felt a bit robbed of a nice Valentine's evening.
We had reservations and although I understand being busy we still waited 40 minutes to be seated and was not told initially how long the wait was going to be. Heard hostess tell other people estimated seating time. Food tasted good but wife had ordered side truffle fries. Never showed up untill the end of our meal and all plates were already taken away and food was gone. So we just had a serving of fries after we were full and they were very soggy when given to us. Still charged for them and we didn’t eat them. Steaks and lobster were cooked well. It was an ok place to eat but honestly probably won’t go back. Service was not very great.
I know that Valentine’s Day is a busy holiday but being 30 min or more behind for reservations was rough having a 815 reservation and not being sat till 845ish was rough. Pricing was a bit higher then the quality in my
Opinion steak was very bland and the lobster tails were very small with the potatoes we both would have been very hungry after. I was expecting much better more so because I’m a laundry’s member I was expecting top tier and feel like I could have gotten the same level of food and service from a mid tier restaurant and paid 40-50 dollars less.
It was Valentines Day. So that's likely why our experience was not the same as our usual here. Despite a reservation and showing up on time, we waited 30 minutes to be seated. Then it took an eternity to get service started. Then my wife's ordered wine was "sold out" - for which I'll give them credit they honored the original price on a glass of 2x expensive wine (but only on her first glass). Food was great. Service once it started was pretty good - though we were never offered water or bread which dinner other tables were offered. We'll be back. Chalk it up to the holiday. This place is usually better than this.
It was Valentine’s Day so I expected a little wait even though we made reservations. We finally got seated at 8:30 with 8:00 reservations the problem though is that it was 10:30 before we got our main course.
Made a reservation a month in advance and when we arrived they told us they overbooked and we would have to wait like everyone else. I asked what the point of making a reservation was and they just said they were sorry. Don’t take reservations if you are not going to honor them. Will never bring my business to this restaurant again and will make sure to share this experience with others.
I got a reservation for 6:45 on Valentine's Day and we showed uo 20 min early. We were notified that it would be 20 minutes after our reservation time. So no problem but by 7:30 we were told there was still 10 people ahead of us??
So we kindly excused ourselves and went to another establishment.
Food and service were good. Had a 6:30pm reservation. Was seated at 7:05
Had reservation but wasn’t seated until 1 1/2 later. Cocktail waitress at bar had a hard time providing check so we could be seated in dining room
This was my first dinner at this restaurant. I was disappointed since my experience with their happy hour has been positive. This time however was quite a different story. First, despite having reservations it took 45 minutes later just to be seated. The second disappointment was the Filet Mignon I ordered had extreme fat while my dates was fine but tough. On the flip side the mashed potatoes gruyere were great! Last but not least, the value for our meal was horrible for what we received. Might take in the happy hour, but will take a long time to forget the poor service and meal we had there.
They were late about 30-60 min wait even with reservations but kept us updated
The food was great as usual!! The wait for a table was a little frustrating given that I had made reservations two weeks ahead of time. Also the method of letting your guest know when there table is ready was not very officiant. My wife and I went to the bar after being told that we had a 20 to 30 minute wait time, even though we had a reservation and arrived 15 minutes early. We were not notified and had to keep going up to the hosts desk to check on our table. The server we had was okay he seemed to be a little new and wasn't as on top of things a we have experienced in the past, but I realize you were extremely busy and seem like you were caught off guard. I want to say that we still had a good experience and will always make McCormick & Schmick's our fine dinning destination.
Why are patrons asked to wait when they have reservations and they can see there are several tables available. After all we could at least be ordering cocktails.
We waited for some time standing in the entry. Once seated we were waited on by Jacob; an excellent server.
Our server was awful... we had to request for water after waiting for 15 minutes just sitting there.
Not a bad experience but at this price point I would expect table cloths. One dining area did have table cloths but two others did not. Cost savings measure maybe? It took longer than expected to get water and bread. It was Valentines Day so I can cut them some slack there. It's one of the busiest days for restaurants. Otherwise the server was attentive and efficient.
The server we had was a great young man! He was attentive, more than polite, friendly and prompt.
My lady friend had the Lobster special and I had the 8oz Filet which was cooked to perfection! The lobster was also excellently prepared! I know because we shared back and forth several time!
They made our evening very very special!
4pm reservation, not seated until 4:20pm. Rushed to get there by 4pm
Timely, we arrived for our 23rd anniversary reservation. Our request for wheelchair seating was specifically identified in the reservation.
When we arrived there was a wait because the restaurant was not prepared. We waited for about 15 minutes.
Then, the hostess decided to seat us at a booth that does not have adequate wheelchair access. My wheelchair almost got stuck getting out of the space. Needless to say, we had to wait again for an “accessible” table.
Finally, 10 minutes later we were seated at a table with a VIP plaque on it. To say that we felt like VIPs during this evening would be a gross stretch of reality.
After waiting 20 more minutes, our server finally decided to show up to offer us beverages. At this point I decided to have water so it’s not to complicate anything.
We ordered our soups and mine arrived lukewarm at best. I’m not a fan of lukewarm lobster bisque, I don’t know about you…
What I realized, is that the server was too lackadaisical to deliver the food as it was ready and fresh out of the kitchen. Her habit of grouping everyone’s orders together and bringing them all out at once, I will assume is her preferred method of time management. So much for the customer service aspect.
This evening has turned out to be disappointing, my seafood Trio was fair. The salmon was over-salted and the shrimp was overcooked. My guys steak was tough, the shrimp was overcooked and the vegetables were barely cooked.
Definitely not a VIP experience! I doubt we will be back.
We arrived 20 minutes prior to our reservations and waited 45 minutes before we realized they gave our booth away to someone else.
Then during dinner I was served a drink that was wrong and after waiting another 20 minutes while our waitress had a conversation with some people across the room I had to go over to the bar to o exchange out the drink that our waitress should have taken care of...
the food was outstanding however the help was absolutely disconnected and made it a very bad experience...
Great place for a special occasion or nice dinner out. Great food, service and environment to sit and enjoy yourself.
Need a little more of the main course on the plate and a little less fluff. The bread before the meal was the best ever.
If you're a big seafood fan and everyone in your party is too, then this is a good choice but since there are almost no other options I think it's not a great option for people with kids or families that have eclectic dietary tastes/needs. Menu has few options and is pricey!
Lacked flavor if I wanted bland I would go to a buffet
Delicious food. Great service. Great wine. Perfect night.
Our, Samantha, was excellent great knowledge of all items on the menu and very attentive. Our wine glasses never went empty. Our four guests also loved it an want to come back.
