McCormick & Schmick's Seafood - Philadelphia

Dined here on a Saturday night, 8 pm reservation for Phila restaurant week. Not a great experience this time at all. It took way too long to get our appetizers (over an hour)! The rest of the food cake relatively fast after that. But the main entrees (bbq shrimp & grits and francaise chicken with mashed potatoes) were not good. The cheesecakes were ok. Overall this dinner didn’t feel worth the value. Disappointed.
Nice time out with the girls celebrating their birthday! We all enjoyed!
Food was excellent. Service was fair. We waited almost 10 mins before a server appeared. She only checked on us once even though we had two courses. Never refilled water.
Service was not good and food/value was not to expectations
Loved the room. Jocelyn, our server, was spectacular. Food was good but portions were small, especially considering the price.
Good seafood and the service was good. We got seated right away with a reservation near a window.
The waiter was very forgetful and made us wait for everything.
Crab legs were fishy tasting and not really very large
Wife’s fish was fine
We were attending Hamilton at the Forrest Theater after dinner
We were seated immediately. Our server was Very personable, friendly and attentive. The food was outstanding. Specialty cocktails were amazing.
ALISSA. Supervisor was exemplary. We enjoyed our food. Thank you.
Everything was okay except the food. Steaks ordered medium rare coming to the table well done. One of our group is allergic to seafood so he got the blackened chicken pasta. Instead of them doing it in a pan because the grill is used for seafood they boiled the chicken. When he brought it up to the server then the “manager” who came to the table. The manager said they could cook another piece of chicken and asked him to just eat around the other boiled chicken. Which we all thought was weird except the manager. When we got the bill, nothing was removed or even apologized for. Been there before, worst experience I’ve had in a long time. Won’t be going back
Excellent food and service. Very professional and courteous staff. Highly recommended for a date night with a little class at an affordable price.
We celebrated my husband's birthday here on a Saturday night. The restaurant was huge, but the sound was so quiet you can actually hold a conversation and/or not hear another guests' conversations. The food was excellent. The clam chowder is very good. I had shrimp stuffed with crabmeat and red pepper cheddar mashed potatoes. The serving was plenty for me (5 large shrimp stuffed full). My husband ordered the surf & turf, which consisted of 2 lobster tails and a 6 oz. size filet mignon, with a side of lobster mashed potatoes (for an extra charge). He raved about his dinner for days!!!! The restaurant offers valet parking which was perfect for a restaurant in downtown Philadelphia. Our waitress was extremely pleasant and waited on us like royalty. We were very impressed with everything.
Service was great waitress was nice
Nice atmosphere to enjoy quiet conversation with that person!
Everything was fantastic! The food was absolutely delicious! The server was wonderful! One of our favorite restaurants! Will definitely be back!
My fiancee wanted to have steak for his birthday. This evening was his third attempt. McCormick & Schmick nailed it where the prior two restaurants overcooked his medium steak. Thank you for a lovely evening of great food and beverages!
Having now returned home I find that the restaurant has processed the wrong amount to my credit card for the meal we had. I signed for $146.00 ($126.38 + tip) but you have charged my account with $160.00.
I need to get this corrected immediately.
Excellent meal, would recommend. Had dinner with 2 couples before a show at the Met
There are so many places in Philadelphia to eat one needs to really stand out to be a recommendation. When we were greeted the host had little to no personality and seated the two of us literally on top of a party of 9 with a baby. When we asked to be moved I was told the restaurant was very busy and no matter he moved us there would be people. Meanwhile another couple came in and were seated at the table close by and when they asked to be moved they immediately were. Our waiter was very pleasant and informed and the food was ok. But for a couple with no children having a screaming baby next to us and basically being told to buzz off when we wanted to move was unacceptable.
Let me start by saying the service was excellent. However, the furniture was old and dated - - even scratched my finger on something sticking out of the chair. The food was bland with little flavor and I had to shoo away flies all evening. I felt bad for picking the place as it was a business meal. I normally have a good experience at M&S.
Disappointing experience. Booth was tight, making seating unpleasant especially on one side. It took a long time
To get drinks after being seated. Food and service were average.
Brittney Was a very attentive server. We were celebrating a special occasion and she helped to make it very memorable
We were a large party and we had a mix of steaks and big stuff shrimp. The food was excellent
The food was good and the obeisance was good, and the waiter Jonathan was excellent.
It was our anniversary and as always the food was great, service from Dante was outstanding and overall a great venue.
Great service from Dante’ - the food is always delicious and the service impeccable. We actually came back the very next day for lunch!
Yes, I would recommend McCormik and Schmick's to a friend for fine dining only. The server was awesome and attentive.
This was my first visit and I was very disappointed. So much so, we left after the appetizer and did not order our main dish. I was expecting a high end experience and did not receive that. There were 2 very drunk woman at the bar; sitting separately. One was falling off her chair. I am not sure why they were being served. We ordered the calamari, which was only okay. Based on that, I didn't want to put out the money for a full meal because I did not want to be both disappointed and angry.
Staff was so professional, food was amazing. Love this restaurant!
Halibut, trout and sea bass were the dinner choices and each were excellent to very good. Salads were more than sufficient, and were a great share dish. Wine selections by the glass were limited, more than I would expect for a large chain. Service was just fine. A tad disappointing that a table of 8 with children was seated alongside our 4 top when restaurant was only 1/3 full.
My pan seared trout was overdone and dry. They did not have the Delaware Bay Oysters available since I was dining sitting at a table and those Oysters were preferred for Happy Hour
It was great. A wonderful Anniversary dinner. My wife and I were pleased
Food was very good. Two people in our party ordered salmon, which is difficult to cook correctly. They did very well. Service was outstanding. Drinks were good though the brine in my martini was a bit off. Overall, we would go back again.
Dante our server was amazing. He was very attentive, gave great advice and made out whole experience a wonderful evening out. The food was delicious.
Saturday night dinner date and most of the crowd in tee shirts. The dining room and reception dated. Walked past two or three table not cleaned off customer long gone
Thought it would be more upscale considering the prices!
Would not go back. Would rather have a special feeling when dropping $250 for dinner for two
Our waitress was nice genuine but not up on menu and did not seem to care. More interested in selling some dining card
We enjoyed our anniversary dinner I can’t enough about the service food was excellent. We be returning.
The waiter was really nice! Over it was a decent experience!
Food/drinks were excellent. Server was excellent ( friendly, very attentive)
One of our favorite restaurants. The freshest fish. Our dinner was absolutely delicious. Our server was wonderful. Will definitely return!
