Great atmosphere for business and lunch with friends. Food is awesome.
We went there for our anniversary and received special attention and a special treat at the end of our meal. The server was great and very friendly.
The food quality was extremely good and the service was attentive but not intrusive. Our only negative was the lighting level of the restaurant--way too dim. We needed a cellphone flashlight to read the menu. It's not all about the ambiance. Even so, we would certainly dine again at M&S.
We have had much better service and food from past experiences. Our server was not very attentive, and the way she talked, she didn't belong in that nice of an establishment. The food was OK, definitely not up to par as to the numerous other times we have been there. We were definitely disappointed.
Our wait, Mitch, was "snarky" as our friends who dined with us called him. Non smiling and not helpful. He acted like a drone. No expressions or helpfulness.
My Atlantic Salmon was not thoroughly cooked. No, I did not bring it to our waiters attention because we never saw him after our food arrived. We saw him only when he asked if we wanted desert and he then cleared the table.
We will not be returning.
Stuffed Salmon was outstanding. Buttermilk shrimp were average.
Great service. A little spendy but overall a good experience.
Great greeters and staff.
I feel so bad about telling about this experience, as I love this restaurant chain, but it just was not up to par.
I ordered the specialty crafted drink with smoke and warmed cinnamon stick - for $20. They prepare it at the table, trying to make a big deal out of it, but honestly it was just so-so. I’ve had a very similar drink many times and so was expecting a truly memorable drink, it wasn’t.
We ordered Oysters Rockefeller- the hollandaise sauce tasted like Warmed Cheez Whiz. There wasn’t any spinach or bacon as advertised, just this thick & heavy sauce.
The Ahi was very good according to my husband. I had the crab stuffed shrimp which were fairly good. There were several pieces of uncooked celery which wee prominent in the taste.
Lastly, we shared a creme brûlée, that had a brûlée that was very thick on top & and the creme was on the soupy side.
While our waiter was kind, friendly and checked on us, she didn’t remove dishes that were used and only put my entree about 2/3 of the way on the table, like it was okay.
While our meal was going on, two of the staff proceeded to push about 6 tables passed by our table into the bigger separate dining room. They didn’t move the chairs too, so it looked like we were having this special meal in a back room for people you don’t care about. The chairs were left all wonky where there once was a table. No one seemed to think anything of the situation.
I wish I had delightful things to write but - it wasn’t so good.
I met a good friend for lunch. Our young waiter answered our menu questions with ease and knowledge making our selections that much easier. The service we received was excellent. My friend and I wished to linger after we had eaten and we were made to feel very comfortable doing so. The quiet ambiance of the restaurant lends itself to intimate conversations. Dining at McCormick & Schmick's was truly a wonderful experience!
I would recommend McCormick & Schmick's because the food was delicious. The waitress was ok, but she was very difficult to understand. I had made reservations but the hostess had to ask how many people she was seating... From a service stand point our experience was pretty ho hum.
Again, as before, great food and service, but overpriced as it is not fine dining, but is asking for that pricing..
Great service and awesome food. Our server was amazing. The front desk was very helpful and accommodating. Overall fantastic experience
The evening was very nice
Frequent this restaurant many times and it is still as good as ever.
Our steaks were delicious and perfectly cooked as we ordered.
New Years eve
We had the Seared Scallops and the Ahi Tuna for dinner and the kissed shrimp appetizer (not to miss!)
We were there on New Years Eve to celebrate our anniversary and it was awesome! Food was amazing!
Went out to dinner on New Year's Eve with my wife. We had reservations for 7:00 pm, however, when we arrived were told there several people ahead of us and they would tell us when our table was ready. Makes you wonder why you would make reservations if they don't have your table ready. Dinner and wait staff service were great! McCormick & Schmick continue to be a great alternative to having to go downtown for a nice meal, a little fancier than most chains, but still comfortable.
Excellent food-salads, seafood, beautiful presentation. Beautiful setting. Busyness and slower pacing of Meal due to New Years crowd seemed evident.
Nice atmosphere for New Year's Eve. Wine was over priced but that is expected for any medium to high end restaurant. Waitress was "ok" but felt she did not want to be there or really care. I ordered the Surf & Turf meal and the meat was cold on the bottom. Not warm, but cold. The lobster tails were cold on the bottom as well. As if the steak and lobster was sitting on a block of ice as the top was definitely warm to hot. Very odd. No apologies by the waitress or the manager. They just placed it on the stove for a few minutes and brought it back out. Not impressed on how they handled it. So I watched my wife eat then she watched me eat. This is not my first time at this place and each time I have eaten there it has not been a good experience.
New years eve, they were busy, but our experience was just right!
Happy new year
Perfect! Sarah is a fabulous server! We had a wonderful time!
Pricey for the amount of food served. All side dishes including salads cost extra...this practice went out 15 years ago. It's 2020, time for transparency.
4-5 times a year we have special friends in town and like to head to M & S, because of the quality and consistency. We'd been there two months prior, and it was exceptional. This time was several days after Christmas and we were looking for something besides beef!! One of us ordered salmon and specifically asked for it to be rare or underdone. It was cooked well past medium. Two of us had stuffed shrimp, very small shrimp, unremarkable gummy stuffing and sloppy mashed potatoes. One of us had a mixed shrimp dish and was dismayed at the small shrimp. We split a Caesar salad that could have come from Denny's, tasteless and boring. We were all surprised at the low quality of the food. We are all cradle Oregonians and been to many M & S restaurants over the years, and this was the first major disappointment.
Our waiter seemed uninterested that we were there. We had to get out flashlights to read the menu. Just not a great evening.
Everything was great. Unbeatable Clam Chowder.
Service was painfully slow. There was a baby shower in the next room. If you have a big booking, have more staff.
I don’t know if I will make another booking anytime soon.
The food was great except for the bread which was dry, not the usual warm bread we usually receive.
Very disappointed that the Landry Corporation has changed the menu. They did away with so many of my favorites dishes. Was planning on hosing a luncheon there but will be going elsewhere. Also, I ordered a glass of chardonnay and it was served lukewarm. I sent it back and it came a little cooler. I was told that is how they serve whites. I don't know who they were trying to kid.
We made reservations for Christmas day one week in advance. Thank goodness we did! Our reservation was for 5:45. We could barely get in the door there was so many people! They were 20min behind in getting their reservations to their tables. We have been to the M&S before for holiday meals, tends to always be very busy. I had the stuffed salmon and my wife had the cedar plank salmon. The fish dishes were very good, however the presentation of each was very plain, will write that off to a very busy evening for the chef staff. The upside down apple pie was surprisingly very good, do reccomend that desert dish. The wait staff for that night was incredibly busy and for that we will forgive the waiter not remembering to bring our drink refresh as the dinners arrived. We have eaten here many times and have had many different menu items. I do reccomend the ribeye, and most fish dishes. Overall we had a wonderful experience for a very busy Holiday meal.
Food was absolutely delicious! Service was wonderful and even though it was Christmas, we were seated and served in a timely manner. I love the dining room at McCormick’s.
This year my wife and I had Christmas dinner with another couple at the M & S Grill in Tigard as we have done for most of the past ten years. The trend that we have noticed as time goes by is one of increasingly overcrowded conditions there. Despite our usual 5:00 PM reservations, we have had to wait ever longer to be seated while jostling with crowds waiting for their own reservations, bustling wait staff and customers in general coming and going. This year we had to wait almost 30 minutes past our reservation time to be seated.
The wait staff was friendly, but service was very slow. It seemed to take forever to get our courses. I'm not blaming the waiters and waitresses. The problem is that they were overwhelmed with having to deal with so many people. This restaurant was plagued by overbooking and it would help if it would be more reasonable by limiting crowd sizes. But then that would not be as profitable, not to mention the limited options of where people can go to eat out on Christmas day. So pack 'em in I guess.
At least the food, although understandably expensive, has been consistently good. But it had better be considering the chaotic circumstances that customers have to deal with now, at least on Christmas day anyway. We might continue our yearly tradition at the M & S Grill or not. We'll see how it goes. If this restaurant wasn't so relatively far from where we live, we would eat there more often. Even so, we'll have to give it a try sometime on an average day for comparison.
Thank you for a lovely Christmas Day dinner
Everything was excellent !
It took them 30 minutes beyond our reservation time to seat us even though we had a reservation and arrived early. ( they were telling everyone that they were 10-15 minutes behind) And another 45minutes to get our food! The server was nice at first but very disorganized. I ordered tea and the water was not hot enough to properly steep the bag. Very cheap brand of tea and you can barely squeeze a small cup from a bag at best-so I asked for more water which she brought 10 minutes later (EVERYTHING took an extra 10minutes!) but no new tea bag...then she copped a snotty attitude when I kindly asked for another bag , and in the end she charged me $3.50 for each tea bag... really?? Make me wait 90 minutes to eat and then do that? What an attitude. Whatever happened to authentic kindness and sincerity in service. I grew up in the restaurant business and I know it’s not easy so I was kind. But I didn’t leave a tip.
We were not seated until at least 30 minutes after our reservation time. Hostess advised the people at the table we were waiting for had been there 3 hours and were having a great time. Having restaurant experience after 3 hours, advise them they can move into the bar seating. Will not be eating here again.
Christmas Eve dinner! We had a great time. The food was phenomenal and would definitely go again.
The service at this restaurant has always been outstanding and our dinner on Christmas Eve was terrific. The Cali Cumo oysters were delicious. Both the lobster bisque and clam chowder where full of flavor and enjoyed by all 4 of us.
This is an outstanding restaurant for the quality of food and the presentation. Despite the full house of diners our food was delivered with a minimal wait and was terrific.
We are very particular where we spend our fine dining budget and McCormick & Schmick's is on our A list.
Christmas Eve dinner at McCormick & Schmick's Grill Brigeport was lovely! Food was delicious, service was excellent and it was very festive!
Consistently great service and delicious food. It’s a bit spendy- but the restaurant is lovely.
Christmas Eve Dinner with my family.
We've had good meals here in the past, but last night our waiter was not having a good night. The place wasn't that busy, but we had to ask for several things a few times. This after he reported at the beginning of our visit that he was not happy that he had to work on Christmas Eve and Christmas. Food and drinks were mediocre, fish was dry. Won't be back :(
