Really unique food, definitely a must if you like seafood! Every single thing we ordered was delicious
1st time here. Nice lunch menu. Food was exceptional.
It’s a very Interesting menu. Beautiful presentation Really enjoyed it.
Great place- I’ll be back for sure❤️
It would not be a place I would recommend. New irleans has much better places to eat.
The atmosphere is trendy. The dim sum menu is interesting. Most of the items were interesting and tasted unique. There was one with head cheese that was just not edible. We overall enjoyed the restaurant.
Started with happy hour and stayed for dinner. Everything was good, but the pork entree and apple cake dessert were delicious!
Everything was phenomenal, wish we lived closer
Loved Maypop - from the food to the service a 5 star experience not to mention the best Chili Crab I’ve had outside of Singapore.
♥️ everything was great!
Only loud because we went before Saints/Cowboys game
Great meal before Saints game!
Great spot for any occasion. Everything we ordered was delicious.
What a treasure, we had the best experience! Shawn took such great care of us, the food was amazing (in a wonderfully surprising way), and the ambiance was cool.
Bucatini was great, chili crab was delicious (spicy though - much more so than the traditional found in Singapore - we used some of the sauce with the bucatini and it was awesome!), oysters were delicious, and the pork shoulder was good (a lot of fat though - two slices were pure fat and a good portion of each of the other slices were too, but it was a very tasty dish).
One side note: the hostess was very rude. We made a reservation via OpenTable for 9:30p (the last reservation offered on the site is 945 and the restaurant “closes”/stops seating at 10). At 9:27p, three minutes before our reservation, we got a call from the hostess asking if we were coming; I told her we were a block away. *If you don’t want people to dine 30 minutes prior to “closing,” don’t offer the reservation slot on OpenTable! When we walked in at 9:30, there were only two tables seated (with about 30 empty tables) and she tried to seat us at a pub table/high top with a window on one side and a pillar/wall behind one of the two chairs; we asked for a normal sized and height table and she smirked. It was bizarre. Why would anyone seat a guest at the tiniest, most confining, restrictive table in a restaurant when the restaurant is practically empty? Punishment for dining late? Whatever. We looked at the menu online and ordered promptly and asked for everything at once so the kitchen could close (at that point we felt so unwelcome and almost left, but are glad we stayed because the food was great!). And, BTW, we were not the last table to leave, so some courtesy on the hostess’s end could have been afforded.
Delicious, inventive food. Great service. Definitely different. Loved it!
The food was good, not great, far better than average but given the reviews I expected a much more inventive and tasty menu.
Our server was excellent the wine choices were excellent the space was fine nothing special. Would I go again? No, There are too many other great choices in Nola
Great place; love that the menu changes. Wish I would've known my dish had cilantro in it! Our waiter was awesome.
I loved this restaurant. First visit. In town for business. Pluses: Creative flare on local dishes as appetizers (okra, oysters and boudin) and then really tasteful and well-executed entrees, including pork shoulder, tom yum and pasta with sweetbreads. Could be happier with the food. Minuses: Wines are a little overpriced (IMO) but I don’t know the local pricing model or custom. Nice and interesting selection of vineyards represented but not the top bottles from those producers (e.g. Blackbird Arise instead of its better sisters, Paramour and Contrarian). Anyways, small complaint. Definitely recommend this restaurant and will come back on my next visit.
I ordered the calamari, and the Tom Yum dish with shrimp and Florida clams. Both dishes were very tasty; however, the cost of both was pretty outrageous for the amount of food given. The calamari was I believe $11, and it was maybe a handful, and the Tom Yum for lunch was $17, and it might have been one of the smallest dishes I've ever seen. I realize our portions for restaurants are generally way too large, but I would like to actually like to be full after eating an entree. Both my companion and myself ordered an appetizer and an entree, and we still weren't really full after finishing both. I did enjoy the sampler biscuit and dessert they gave us before and after our meal.
Delicious food, beautifully presented, very friendly and qualified staff.
Maypop was excellent! Biggest regret is that we don’t live in New Orleans so we can try the other restaurant and return to Maypop. Every course was so good but you just can’t order it all if there are only three people. God I wish there was one in Los Angeles.
I haven’t been to Maypop for the past year or more. I always enjoyed the creative food but my wife was not a fan. The new menu is amazing. We met Chef Michael who came out and greeted us too. My wife told him that Maypop was her No. 1 restaurant now in New Orleans. That is a big change. The chilly crab, the Tom yum noodles and the fried oysters were just amazing. Will be back very soon and many times too.
Daughter was visiting and we’ve never been able to get a reservation before so we took advantage this time and truly enjoyed it. It was amazing food and great service.
If you ever tire of the wonderfully heavy and rich servings that make NOLA famous, this is a nice break. Incredibly eclectic menu that will remind you of high end trendy foodie stops in your hometown. Definite recommend
Dynamite place. The bucatini was a top 10 pasta dish for me. We also got the fish which was swordfish that day - incredible sauce and cooked perfectly. Don’t be afraid to treat yourself and get the bread service for like $4. Great drink list and the service was top notch. You will like the food don’t skip this place.
Always bomb AF. Not sure if a bad meal is possible here.
What a fabulous experience! Rarely do you find a restaurant with such flavorful and unique dishes that cannot be imitated or duplicated anywhere else. Every single thing was spectacular: shrimp buns, Bangkok noodles, buckwheat noodles with crab, oysters, wings, pikapika and ginger smash.. everything!
And best happy Hour I’ve ever been to!
And fantastic service!
The food was amazing and they went out of their way to accommodate gluten free dairy free dietary restrictions
Great food and service. We arrived during happy hour and were able to enjoy inexpensive and good house wine.
Excellent!! Service is just about the best in the city, food is as interesting as it gets in the city...the roasted pork was perfect and the desserts are formidable.....highly recommend!!
Highly recommend Maypop - great atmosphere, innovative menu, accommodating staff. Has a NYC vibe while being comfortable and relaxed. Geaux Maypop!
Amazing combination of spices & condiments make up each dish. Don’t go there without ordering dim sum calamari on the weekend, best is US! Our server was over the top attentive. Coming back before we leave the city.
I have eaten here on multiple occasions and it does not disappoint. Staff is very good and attentive and the food is a blessing to the palate.
Fantastic service. Outstanding food. Perfect for my business lunch.
My lunch was tasty. The server was prompt, courteous and friendly.
A gem. Appetizers, entrees, cocktails and dessert were all well-balanced, flavorful and delicious.
The food is absolutely delicious and unique. The chef really knows how to create memorable flavors.
