I loved the ambience and the service. I was not thrilled with the food selections. I had the hamburger. The meat was excellent and very well cooked. But just getting a patty, cheese, onion and bun with french fries didn't seem like a very good deal to me for $18.
Wonderful food and drinks, very attentive waiter, much appreciated!
Very small portions for the price they charged. Disappointing how businesses take advantage of people on such holidays.
We had a great experience and the food and service were amazing!
First visit and we loved it. Great ambiance and service. The food was delicious. The portions could be a bit more substantial, not so much the main ingredient but the accompanying items. However, we will definitely eat there again. :)
Not sure. Expected more. Good service
Menu limited. Portions small
Rooftop bar... like a spring break party
Sorry, not what I expected
The food was delicious. We went with our waitress suggestions and tried a little bit of several dishes by sharing. The halibut was perfect and surprisingly, the asparagus was the best ever (don't know what they did to it but it was truly perfect)
Everything was amazing from drinks to food. Our server Lindsay was so knowledgeable about the menu and very personable. My family had a great time and will most definitely be back.
Very small portions.
Service and food are by far the best around! If you do not eat here when you are in Newport you will miss out on an amazing experience!
That burger is indeed the best in OC.....the new drink list is sensational and whimsical....while the place had a somewhat rough start last year, it’s taking shape under the talented young chef’s leadership now!
The food was exceptionally good as was the presentation.. the photo shows the beautiful plate presentation and ambiance..
Went for Easter brunch. If you don't mind paying $55 for some salad, pancakes, one mini donut and one-half deviled egg then this is the place. Food was good, but not outstanding. Selection for brunch was poor and don' bother asking for more of anything because it isn't happening. Table for 6 and we received 5 mini-donuts (size of a small packaged Hostess donut) . Asked for more, received a look that could kill and never received any more.
Ridiculously over priced for overly fussy presentation and small portions. Stick to the bar!
The server was knowledgeable and very attentive to use. We sent a birthday dessert to another patron and the staff was so supportive and engaging as we made someone’s evening.
Would definitely return.
Waiters were very good at explaining the dishes etc. They understood we needed to 'catch up' before we ordered. Refills on water and ice tea handled promptly.
Not worth the price of admission. Too many better options in the area.
Fantastic place for brunch. This was our first time at Mayors Table and wow have they done an excellent job. The staff is extremely welcoming, friendly and knowledgable about the menu. Relaxing atmosphere, thoughtful menu, and talented bar staff will make you want to stay for a leisurely brunch.
Awful! Found a hair in our food and they charged us for the replacement meal!
Jeff was a phenomenal seever
Located inside the new Lido House Hotel , The Mayors Table where I recently hosted a family brunch. This place is virtually flawless, from the friendly , informed and attentive staff to the best waffles I’ve ever had. Just could not have been happier with this place. The menu offers something for everyone from vegetarians, gluten free and carnivores this place delivers. It’s got a great flow throughout the entire place. I can’t wait to go back for dinner!
Amazing service, cool vibes, and wonderful food. Had breakfast, lunch, dinner, and an ice cream snack during our stay and enjoyed it every time! Loved the seafood chowder!
Exceptional dining experience. Service and food were worthy of the area.
Will definitely be back again with our family
This this inside a upscale hotel so the prices reflect that. Everyone is very friendly and helpful. I will come back to try the rooftop bar as the view and atmosphere is wonderful.
Service was amazing along with the food. The seafood selection is perfect! Must try!
The waiter was very focused on making sure my husband was happy....not so much the other people in the group.
Everything was great! Loved the hotel, food and service. Expensive, but you get what you pay for.
Excellent food and service Would go back in a heartbeat
On menu it says Niçoise salad. We were so excited...,came with no salad greens, no potatoes, no green beans!!! That’s NOT a Niçoise salad!! Should say “non traditional Niçoise salad” or something. We asked if we could have greens. Chef said $5 extra. We said, really? Well ok. And wanted some green beans. We saw him talking with the waiter and then the chef started chopping like he was mad. Our salad was terrible and so disappointing. AND we were the ONLY people in there as we were making it a brunch at 11am. Beautiful surroundings. That’s it. And our waiter was very nice and felt badly about how it went!!
Great food, great service, the only downside would be the groups of 6 to 8 people who are loud and obnoxious. You just need to tune them out. Great place, they just need to better understand classy customers rather than the "one-time" customers who are loud, obnoxious and show up there one time.
High quality food and great service - that you pay for, fairly. Went off hour, and on a rainy day which made getting a table easy, which I’m guessing isn’t typical.
The bone-in ribeye was cooked perfectly. Simple and flavorful. The playing shows the chef’s visions. The “chowder” has its own twist that elevates itself and the final product showcases how well the chef knows the importance of a well made stock. Cocktails are perfect. The semifreddo dessert is heavenly, like a light Yule log afloat on cloud 9.
The food wasn’t terrible but it wasn’t as good as we expected. The risotto was undercooked, but had good flavor. The crab stuffed donuts were inconsistent, some were practically empty some were decently filled.
Amazing food. Very personalized service. Outstanding vibe. Just a tad too loud for group conversation.
Very relaxed, not rushed at all . Excellent food, my girlfriend and I split the stuffed crab appetizer and felt it could be more moist, then we split the hamburger and the lobster roll which were both very good but our favorite were the fries which were crispy on the outside and creamy in the middle. We had the deconstructed cheesecake for dessert which was fabulous. After we finished, our waiter gave us a tour of the hotel. We would definitely go back!
I loved the decor of the restaurant-nice little areas to sit for a drink before dinner. (Drinks were overpriced). The wait staff was very professional. Unfortunately, it does all come down to whether or not the food is worth coming back for....the portion sizes were incredibly small! And maybe that’s why the sea bass was only $28-because it was the smallest portion of fish I’ve ever been served, with about a tablespoon full of squash. It was delicious, though. I had soup for an appetizer and my husband had roasted beets. We both left feeling hungry.
I compare this portion size to where we usually go-Bandara, Nicks, Gulfstream, etc. We both agreed we wouldn’t go back.
Everything was EXCELLENT!! We had the Lobster cups to start followed by the Duffy salad and my husband had the petite fillet and I had the trout finishing with the souffle. The service was A+++ The Topbar for a few drinks before dinner was fabulous!! We had the best time. Ignore any negative reviews. This place is top notch!! We will be frequenting The Lido House all the time.
Tasty food and a nice atmosphere
Great! First course was delicious, second was a tad too saucy/heavy
