   Took my fiancé there for brunch … he really enjoyed the shrimp and grits and the atmosphere was pleasant too

   Took my boy friend there because he wanted some good fried chicken. I ordered the FAMOUS SOUTHERN FRIED CHICKEN, the chicken was horribly greasy and not fresh at all. My boy friend ordered the H -TOWN HOT FRIED CHICKEN and it horrible as well. When I mentioned it to the server she insisted that it was freshly cooked. That was a lie. I was charged extra for the macaroni because I didn’t want mashed potatoes! She never mentioned that it was a $3 charge to substitute a side. Don’t know if going for dinner was a horrible mistake but I’ll never go again. The food was horrible and not worth the money at all.

   It was a get to know my future step daughter brunch and everything from the ambience to the food and drink was on point

   We thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience. The ambiance is upbeat. We had the Houston Restaurant Weeks menu. For the first course we tried the sliders. They were very tasty. For the second course Ann had the pork chop, which was awesome. I had the coconut shrimp, which were done to perfection. Be sure to have dessert , they are delicious. The wine selection is excellent. There is something for every taste. Be sure to ask for Kam, she is a gem.

   It was a quiet night at Max’s and we found out that some of our old specials which we loved were no longer available. Good was good but not as great as before - they need to get it back ! This place holds very good memories for my friends and I so we will still keep on coming but would appreciate the extra effort.

   Great food presented in a fun atmosphere. As their t-shirts say: “Chicken and waffles and champagne? Why not?” We have only been for Sunday brunch, but the food is wonderful and the range of offerings goes way beyond breakfast. We opened the place on a Sunday at 11:00 a.m. Shortly thereafter, we began to need to shout so that our table mates could hear us. By the time we left at noon, every table was taken including high-top-two-tops which run down the center of the cozy dining room. It was so crowded that one had to walk out sideways and hope for the best. Not sure what the fire marshal would think. But, there were plenty of happy brunch patrons with mimosas. The food and concept here are good enough for five stars. But, the ambience suffers from crowding and noise.

   I think we’re done with Max’s. We’ve enjoyed eating here many times in the past but it’s been a while. The loud music made it difficult to speak to the waiter or our own table mates. The menu is tiresome and unchanging. The wine list is overpriced. We arrived early evening with most tables still empty. This didn’t afford us timely service. Slow and overpriced. Loud and not fun.     The French toast was over cooked, the fried chicken was dry and the lobster omelette was made with langostino tails and not lobster. I was disappointed with the quality of food.

    Hello We are sorry to hear about your poor experience That is definitely not out standard We have made our 18 year reputation on Fried Chicken So it should be great every time, and Im sorry to hear if it was not So we can take much better care of you Feel free to reach out to the store and ask for Cody I did just want to make it clear though We do NOT use langostino for our LOBSTER Omelet I would not want you or our loyal clientele to think we would be deceptive like that We use a top tier seafood vendor We order $30-40 a lb lobster meat for that item We appreciate the feedback as we are ALWAYS IMPROVING We hope to hear from you Cheers! -Cody
