Eight years ago, Maximo Bistrot started as a restaurant for the thinking and execution of dishes from a wide range of techniques with the best of local ingredients; a warmful place that communicated our love for food. After a long and heartwarming road at our current location, we thought for the need of moving. Our new home, located at Alvaro Obregon 65 bis - a much wider space where gleams of natural light shine upon the surface-, is carefully assembled by Gabriela's meticulous look, and a kitchen built within Eduardo García's early memories, while living as an inmigrant in a barn in Ohio. Despite this big change, our principles initially founded remain the same: to offer food that distinguishes the best of local products.

    Máximo blew me away. I opted for the chef’s tasting menu, which led me from one culinary delight to another. The service was exceptional as well—I really can’t say enough. Probably one of the top 20 meals of my life!

    Me encantó, todo muy sobresaliente, la comida, el servicio, algo que me llamó mucho la atención es que siempre hay alguien atento a lo que necesites.     En esta ocasión volvimos a pedir la tlayuda de jaiba que estaba muy rica, aunque nos sorprendió que picaba un poco. Lo más sobresaliente fue el huachinango que estaba muy bueno. Nos recomendaron un postre de chabacano que estaba excelente. El servicio amable. Lo único que sentimos es que el tiempo entre algunos tiempo fue un poco largo, pero nada grave.

    A bit underwhelmed but went in with high expectations. Service felt inconsistent and chaotic at times. Took too long to get menus initially but as soon as one server placed down the dessert menu, another came around the other side and took it. We did not do the tasting menu due to dietary preferences, and decided to split two appetizers and two entrees. While we left full despite not completely finishing three of the dishes, we felt the food lacked flavor, complexity and a wow factor that we would have expected from a restaurant of this caliber. Highlight was the Pink Peppercorn Sour. The aesthetic and decor of the restaurant is amazing, so kudos to the designer.

    Barbara our server was exceptional. Fabulous food and great service. We had lunch and flew out after, best way to cap off a great trip. I’m still thinking of the crab tostados and the eggplant dip. Definitely will be back.
