Matt's Stock Island Kitchen & Bar at The Perry Hotel
Very nice setting and views of the marina. Food was very good and reasonably priced for quality and creativity. Service was spotty. Ourselves and the tables around us had to seek out our servers on a few occasions. We had to get up and find ours to get started as no one approached us when we sat down for awhile.
Service was great! Do think it was a little over priced. Typically brunch includes Prime Rib or an omelet station etc. They do have some small plate options, but if your doing Keto there is not a huge selection so basically $55 for some scrambled eggs, bacon and sausage.
The overall experience was poor. Food was not served together and when final meal arrived it was not eatable.
It’s a clam but efficient environment where service is nice Celt understated
We sat outside. Music for the night was great especially since it was Valentine's Day - performer was solid. Service was good - lots of helping hands. They had a 3 course fixe prise meal for $60. The lobster corn chowder was incredible. Tenderloin steak presentation with a fig demi glace, vegetables was very good. Meat overcooked (asked for medium rare) and not that tasty. Desserts - choice of two - I chose the chocolate hazelnut was nothing special. Understand the lemoncello was better. Great mood and ambience in an awesome setting.
Family in town getting together...
The Crab Beignet were amazing! The food was well prepared, and low key, which was great. By the glass wine list a bit limited, excellent martini. It’s a fun, casual waterside dining experience. I’d definitely go back!
Yes for location stunning and the crab beignets superb - fried chicken and fries very dry - Service excellent
Very cordial our waiter was Mark
Food was good, presentation nice, servings somewhat generous.
Dining room attractive with nice views of marina.
Pleasantly surprised to find this brunch. Asked Siri for “brunch near me” and her first response was Matt’s. It was a 5 mile bike ride-flat and along the east side of key west-btw, bikes are the best way to get around key west...upon arrival we discover the Perry Hotel (will consider staying here next time). It’s located on a marina on Stock Island just north of KW. Matt’s is located just off the lobby with indoor and outdoor seating. This brunch was perfect...unlimited bloody‘s, mimosa’s, oysters, shrimp, ceviche, tuna, salads, fruits, and standard breakfast items. The kicker was the small plates that you can order along with the buffet-I dislike calling it a buffet because it conjures images of your “all you can eat” hotel buffets. Believe me, this is world class and be happy you can go back and enjoy your favorites. We sampled several small plates....chicken and rice soup, steak fajita and avocado crab eggs Benedict. All very good. The bloody and mimosa bar was excellent. Lastly, the desert and pastry table was overwhelming! Definitely had to hold myself back from over indulging. This was such a a great find. A great meal on a mid Sunday morning. Will try dinner next time we’re in KW.
Average at best.
Ordered the blueberry jarfait and the ham & cheese omelette. The jarfait was odd and terribly sweet. It had stale flake cereal on top, a glob of strawberry jam underneath that, a few blueberries and some sort of curd in the bottom. One jar full of sugar?...Yuck.
The ham and cheese omelette was lukewarm and the (less than flavorful) cheddar cheese had already hardened on top. The toast was ice cold. I ordered a Bloody Mary and was really disappointed—It was watery and below average in overall flavor.
This place used to knock our socks off. We were always pleased with the creativity and the flavors of the food served here. I came here specifically to celebrate my birthday with friends and because I always loved the food.
Looks like those days are over — and so soon?!
The dining area outside is beautiful but noisy as there were a lot of kids in the pool screaming and then they got on their skateboards and bikes and drove right by our table when they left! There were no parents with any of these kids and they appeared to be local kids! Kind of ruined the atmosphere but the food was delicious and our waiter, Leon, was great!
great food. unique flavor combinations that make for great new orleans style food.
I was really looking forward to dinner here. The menu actually had Hemingway Daiquiris listed and that is what reeled me in! Unfortunately, aside from those (which were very good!) the rest of our meal was a disappointment.
The overall failure occurred when two bites in to our fish & chips I encountered a 2-3” piece of clear plastic. Then came the wait of a server that would get rid of it. The manager did try to offer me a chance of selecting another entree but my appetite had left the building.
My husband finished his. When our check arrived the only item that had been removed was the plastic entree.
Two disappointments in one sitting. We won’t be back.
A bit busy so service not as swift as usual...
Best fried shrimp ever! Definitely recommend visitors to Key West try this one!
Hidden gem of Stock Island. If you catch fish, they’ll cook it for you.
We stayed at the Perry Hotel for 3 nights and had most of our meals here. The ambiance is amazing and the food is delicious . All of the seafood dishes were great and my husband absolutely adored the fried chicken.
Lovely brunch menu and service! Great ambiance. Definitely recommend!
Our server was amazing! Food was delicious! We are locals and we will be back soon!
Had wonderful fried chicken dinner.
Service good. Food excellent. Cannot beat this location
Super loud for dinner on a Monday night. Food was good, as was service.
Very nice! Great food :)
Waitress was friendly & prompt, food was delicious & reasonably priced.
We had the crab beignets for an appetizer and they were outstanding. Dinner consisted of mussels, kale salad and fried chicken. The salad was fresh with the right amount of dressing. The mussels were quite good and the fried chicken was the best that we have had in a long time. There was live acoustic music in the background and we sat overlooking the marina. It was a fabulous experience.
Great location. Beautiful facility.
We sat out on the water on a beautiful night. the food was great. Service was great. I think it's a little expensive but nice for a special occasion.
Tapas were really Tasty shared the tuna, crab beignets and heirloom tomato salad washed it down with bourbon and a smore shake not for the weak great time
Enjoyed atmosphere. Shared salad. Snapper for two. Intended on ordering dessert. Unfortunately that’s where the service fell off. Our waiter took way to long to take our dessert order, so we decided to pass on dessert.
The food was very good. Everything was fresh and tasty. There was a good variety too. We had the Brunch.
Brunch was wonderful. Server Rustam did an awesome job!
The food was great with live music! The Perry Hotel created a beautiful space near the harbor that was perfect for our date night. Try the blacked grouper!
The only thing I would change would be our wait staff. I believe her name was Lucy. We only saw her twice our entire meal so we didn’t have an opportunity to order more small plates. Food was superb, atmosphere was top notch, waitress was lacking.
I was very excited to dine here with all of the good reviews. Honestly it was the most expensive and least pleasurable of all of our meals in Key West. Any of the fried items were extremely greasy. The crab fritters could be wrung out with oil. Same goes for the fish and chips. Not cooked well. The remainder of our meals were ok but definitely not worth the price. We will not be back despite the lovely building.
The octopus appetizer is good. The fish (catch of the day) is pan fried perfectly, and the asparagus we order as a side is nicely grilled (not overdone ).
The shrimp soup served is not hot enough, just luke warm and we requested it to be reheat, it tasted a lot better when it is hot.
The waiter seems to be surprised when we ask them to serve hot water instead of cold water.
The corn bread is extra and that is a disappointment and way over-priced.
A lot of nice restaurants serve free bread and that tasted very fresh.
I would expect it to be really fresh and have a decent portion but it is too dry and too oily.
There is noting special from the dessert menu, even though I am a foodie and dessert lover, that does not
motivate me to order any.
So if you want to try, will recommend grill vegetables on the side and fish, octopus dish.
Quality of food and level of service do not match. I understand “island time” but after 2 visits we will not return as we not serviced adequately at any level. Again food is outstanding, but glaring service deficiencies.
Dined twice for breakfast while in key west. Great setting and best food on the trip
Although the Christmas Day set menu was limited it was v good. Service was very friendly but despite there being a lot of staff it was not coordinated and didn't feel properly attentive.
Pre Fix menu only.... not mentioned at time reservations were made. All in all good food. Amazing staff (they HUSTLE!) good ambiance.
Came here for Christmas brunch. Fixed price menu was good but didn’t include dessert. Fish and steak were good, but desserts tasted very ordinary and mass-produced. Key lime tart had no lime flavor or any other flavor for that matter, just a gelatinous mass on coconut with graham crackers. Chocolate mousse also had no flavor.
We had a fantastic lunch on Christmas day, with excellent, fresh food and wonderful service. Although quite busy, Julie took the time to make our day special, even giving me a Christmas decoration as a memento of our visit to Stock Island. We are now plotting ways to stay at the Perry Hotel and visit the restaurant again.
