Absolutely appalling service. We ordered six appetizers apiece and six dinners (two of which were orders of branzino fish). When the main courses were delivered, my aunt asked about the branzino because it appeared white and mushy and looked to be covered in butter sauce despite the description of "herb encrusted" in the menu and our previous experience with the same dish in the same restaurant. The general manager, Cliff, came to our table and began berating my aunt and uncle for simply asking whether there was butter on the fish or not (my uncle cannot eat butter, butter was not listed on the menu, the previous times the dish was ordered it looked significantly different). He raised his voice and was incredible rude and inappropriate towards the entire table. My aunt and uncle were speechless at the disrespect and instead of apologizing, Cliff proceeded to say, "if you promise to take it down a notch, I will too" implying that we had at any point acted inappropriately. Not that it is any of Cliff's business but we were eating together in remembrance of my uncle's father who has just passed away. All of us were respectful and fairly morose during dinner and did not deserve the verbal abuse Cliff gave my family. I would not recommend Matteo's unless you wish to be humiliated and dressed down during dinner by a very angry and unprofessional man. Our waiter was phenomenal, patient and kind.

Beautiful restaurant. They did a great job with the renovation. I found the food to be good but nothing special. My family didnt like the chicken dish they ordered. It was very expensive and not worth the amount spent. There isnt much to eat if you are vegan btw.

Food was okay, nothing special. All the staff was very nice. It was a Friday night and the place was practically empty. I found that weird. Would I go back? Probably not . But it was good, not great.

This was our first time back to Matteo’s since they rebuilt it. Beautiful job. Very spacious, with lots of seating.
Our waiter was very nice, food was very good, portions just right.
We will definitely be back.

We had baked clams, which were very good. We also had the pappardelle with Bolognese sauce. It was just average. Cheesecake for dessert was great! Service is impeccable. Martinis at the bar, fantastic!

Appetizers were very good. Entrees were sub-par. Very unruly children at next table made our time very unpleasant until they left. Very disappointed as we’ve been to the FL restaurant many times and like it.

The food was excellent, cooked to perfection, served hot and the server was knowledgeable, friendly, helpful, funny, helpful and more. Appetizers all the way to dessert perfect. Never did we feel hurried. I reccomend for dates, birthdays, nite out, the kids also liked it. Highly recommend.

Made a reservation for Sunday family dinner and we were seated promptly. Service was outstanding. Food was very good and not a long wait for the courses to come out. Highly recommend for date night, dinner parties, special occasions...

We decided to give Matteo's another try this past weekend. Our first visit there months ago left us nonplussed. The restaurant was way too busy and the service was very slow. This time we saw that part of the restaurant was very full, but we were seated in a completely empty section, so we thought we'd get better service. Unfortunately our waiter was also managing at least one other table that had many people, and while he was great, the service was yet again very slow. The food is good, the prices are a little high.

My husband and I went there for 1st time for our Anniversary. The hostess brought us into the room with open noisy kitchen . We asked to sit in the other room but were told only 4 or more people can sit in there . Mind you it was 6:00 and only one table of six were in the room . A very nice employee tried to help us out and seated us in a little alcove area for 2 . If it wasnt for Freddy's accomodating manner we planned on leaving. My husband liked his veal parm , but my branzino was dry with no sauce .
Final words , dont bother dressing up , most diners were in shorts . Not at all what we expected.

The waitstaff seemed like they were really not committed to serving us. There were three people waiting on us when all we needed was one who was sincerely interested would have worked. The entree’s were very good but the side of roasted potatoes was so overdone and dried out that my jaw hurt from chewing. The dessert which was supposed to be a highlight, the Roche hazelnut dessert tasted old and absolutely no flavor of fresh hazelnut. I’m really on the fence about returning. And the valet cannot drive stick. Thank god I didn’t leave him with my car.

This is our 6th time at Matteos in the past 9 months. We really liked it but the last 2 times it was not as good as the first 4. The portions seemed smaller and there was barely any corn in the Avocado/Corn salad as seeing as this is corn season was disappointing. The service was very good and attentive. We just felt the food while it was good it was not as good as when they first re-opened.

Service was excellent. Alex was our waiter. We were 5 in a full restaurant. Felt like we were the only customers. Entire staff, down to busboys were so efficient and friendly. Food was exceptional. You can order for yourself or homestyle. Ordered the salami mixed Italian appetizer to pick. It ended up being an appetizer for 5 people.

The restaurant is beautiful but the noise level was an issue.
The food would have been good but is was lukewarm.
We had their signature dish of burnt green beans and shrimp; would not recommend . I am sure if it was hot is would have been much better but the dish was cold.

The outside is deceiving - you do not need to be elegantly dressed. Inside is casual (almost too casual since the guy next to me was in a tee shirt. ) Prices are acceptable. The fried Zucchini was wonderful as was the meat and cheese tray. The Carbonara was bland and not authentic. The family size feeds 6 without problem. The single serving ravioli was good, 6 served with a nice sauce. The veal was tender and the marsala sauce was rich and full of mushrooms! Dessert was unremarkable. The cheesecake was warm and fairly bland, the tiramasu was not authentic and just passable. Milk was served with the coffee instead of cream and the espresso was served in a nice large cup, but just OK. With all the great restaurants in Huntington, Matteo's needs to step up its food and service if it wants to survive. Two large parties in the next room took up ALL our servers time and we waited a RIDICULOUS amount of time between appetizers and our main meal (PASTA!) While the manager came and apologized and did "make it right" we STILL had to get up and bring the check to him to get out of the restaurant after 15 minutes. The decor is beautiful but it was a bit loud - not music, just loud, maybe it was where we were seated and I would love to bring guests here, but currently, Matteos is not on that list.

Been here before and loved it 5 star all around. Maybe they were missing a waiter because we waited 15 minutes before someone came over to take our order, the waiter for a second time at the restaurant didn’t offer specials till we asked. The service was slow. People very nice but for a weekday Tuesday, the waiter was overwhelmed had at least 6 tables or more and we were a party of 6

Matteo's needs to get their service up to par !! Train their staff better !
1. As I sat down in my chair, I promptly sat down on the pointy glass/metal top salt and pepper shakers that were left on the chair by a busboy when changing the linens. OUCH. it really really hurt!! And it was embarrassing! The hostess who sat us did nothing but take the shakers away. How about a complimentary drink? or an apology? I'm still sore (a couple of days later).

2. Waiter was very nice. He forgot what I ordered and had to come back to ask again. no biggy..except....

3. They brought me the wrong entrée. I ordered Veal Marsala and was brought chicken Marsala. I had to wait 10 minutes to get my correct dish while my husband slowly ate his fish. maybe write down the orders?

4. The waiter never advised us that the food does not come with sides. Nor did he ask if we wanted any sides, or suggest any. I sat with 2 small pieces of delicious veal marsala with nothing to go with it. At that point I was so annoyed and slightly in pain from the shakers that I just wanted to leave. Missed opportunity for the restaurant to make more money, and for the customer to have a complete meal.

The food was good. My husband had the bronzino, It wasn't the best he's had … it lacked some flavor, but he said it was good. They do not debone it at the table like most restaurants. The pieces was also smaller than at other places. My veal was delicious. would have been better with some potato and veggies on the side.
And yes... the place is really loud. The other diners were certainly yelling their conversations to be heard.
Maybe we'll go again sometime in the future.
