My wifes dish came out with the wrong food but it was quickly rectified. Manager bought us a round of drinks. He was very apologetic.

TERRIBLE TERRIBLE SERVICE! Let’s start off with drinks. The waiter handed me my wine across my husband’s face. Then they have no idea who ordered what appetizers then they got my entree wrong and not knowing who ordered what entrees. Food was just ok, not as good as it used to be. Lastly, I ordered a decaf cappuccino since it was around 8:30 pm, I was skeptical about they getting the decaf part correctly, I repeated twice. I didn’t know they gave me caffeine until I couldn’t sleep that night. I had to ask twice for sugar, the second time I flagged down a manager to bring it to me. My husband was nice enough to leave a 20 % tip, if it’s up to me, they would get 5% tip, I feel it should be earned from a good service. This place is insane, inexperience workers. They won’t last long if they continue this way. I see many bad reviews about the service and it starts from the top. Maybe you all should be replaced.

Everything was absolutely fantastic. Very attentive waiter, amazing food. We got the fried calamari, chicken ultimo, paccheri bolognese, and lava cake for dessert. I recommend allllll of these dishes.

Service was terrible. Sat for 20 minutes before a waiter finally approached to take a drink order. Said he thought someone else was covering the table. Really?? Then it took another 20 minutes before the drinks arrived. The evening was a complete disappointment.

Absolutely great experience. Food was great. Awesome selection from the prix fix menu. Service was impeccable and place was beautiful. Will definitely go back

I’ve gone during the week and have had great experiences. I’d never come back on a Saturday night. I usually go for their $45 pre fixed menu. You get more food with that menu. Serving sizes were a lot smaller on the Saturday night and more money. The place was incredibly loud that you couldn’t hear what the person next to you was saying. No fault of Matteo’s, but way too loud. We had to ask multiple times for a bread basket which is usually brought when you arrive. Came finally with appetizers in which the maître d’ (we asked him while he was walking past our table) finally brought after asking the waiter numerous times. The service was horrible (could have just been our waiter). Didn’t serve family style dishes to us like other restaurants do, gave us a serving spoon and left. He never came back to see how we were doing or needed anything (grated cheese would have been nice) and we all needed drink refills so had to eat with nothing to wash it down with. I wouldn’t go back over the weekend, but most likely would during the week when they are less busy and they have the deal. I wouldn’t chose here if they didn’t have the pre fixed menu. So many other better restaurants in Huntington to enjoy. Disappointed since this was a special 80th birthday dinner and honestly was very disappointing.

Aside from the wonderful ambiance that resulted from the renovation here, everything else about our meal was incredible. The 3 course price fix menu is an absolute steal with about 10 appetizers and 15 entree selections to choose from. The server we had, Steve, was very engaging and check on us several times during our meal. Dennis, the GM, couldn’t have been any nicer as well, checking in on us. Attention to detail - water glasses refilled, bussers swooped in on us to clear the table between courses. A very well run restaurant deserving of the success it has achieved.

Big portion of soup. It was hot and decent. Not too much flavor. Pre-fix menu is great, but the food was good not great. Much better at Matteo’s in Roslyn.
