Matteo's of Huntington
Friday - Saturday 4pm - 11pm
Sunday 3pm - 9pm
The food was pretty good, the drinks were terrible. The service was horrible, both of our waiters were bad. We will not return here.
I ordered filet of sole and it wasn’t seasoned. Also the broccoli rabe was too tough
It was very good. Service was good and food was great. Slight hiccup with the meal but not a problem at all.
I had been looking forward to going to Matteo's since they re-opened some time back, and finally got there. My friend and I were having a celebratory dinner, and we decided to stay at the bar for our meal. Our bartender/server was delightful and took very good care of us. Our food was delivered and served directly from the kitchen by very friendly, kind kitchen staff. Everything was delish. Atmosphere was lovely. Decor too. Prices as expected, not over priced at all.
The setting of Matteo’s of Huntington was fine, but having seen it from outside I had expected it to be something different, cozier and more intimate.
It is very large, it was crowded and very, very noisy.
The food was excellent though, and the price was fair. I would recommend it for that.
Ummm the place is exquisite but need to dim lights more
We had dinner on a busy Friday night. Food was good. We had a pear sa Aladdin and crispy Red Snapper special. When the server came to our table to serve the food he left without serving the food. We had better service in a diner..
The general manager at the Huntington Station Matteo's is a consummate professional. Clearly he is a master in hospitality and a fine restaurateur. The decor sets the stage for an evening of elegance and the food is fabulous.
We went with 6 people on Sept 3 for a birthday celebration. We got there at 6 pm for our reservation and proceed to wait a crazy amount of time to have our orders taken and for the food to get to the table. We were there for over 2 1/2 hours waiting. My husband went to complain to the manager and he said staff didn't show up so it wasn't his problem, he didn't even offer a drink or dessert and the food when it finally got to the table wasn't as good as usual. They lost our business because the manager and food were deplorable
Food was very salty and was very basic (ravioli comes with just red sauce, nothing special). There’s not strong attention to detail (string beans came with the vine). Wine list is very short. Seems like the main attraction for this place is being able to eat family style with large groups, making this place VERY LOUD. The general atmosphere was lacking
The best chicken sorrantino and red snapper we ever had. Our waiter Will was also among the best. The restaurant is beautiful. The noise level ,however, is unbearable. We are seniors and had to skip coffee and desert because the four of us could not hear each other. I wish they could do something to help with the noise. If so, I would be their every week. It was fabulous.
Food was good ... but ... I felt like I was dining with the cast of Jersey Shore.
I won’t go back. Too noisy and totally obnoxious crowd of 40 year old divorcée’s wearing heavy gold chains ... if you know what I mean.
Btw this was our 2nd attempt at trying this place. Both times same atmosphere.
Not very attentive. Noisy room. Had made an anniversary reservation and they never even brought a desert menu. Just got the bill after we finished eating
Great food served family style. Beautiful rooms and helpful staff. Wished they were open for lunch.
The food was delicious, and service was quite good. I was not a fan of the 2 or 3 flies that were in the room.
food gets better every time we return! Great meal service great tonight too
Building is beautiful outside but disappointing within. A large noisy barn. I had reservations and they sat us in the bar area. Noisy hot and uncomfortable. The explanation was that they’re busy. The moved us to another spot in the entrance. OK. Food was average and large individual servings. Not for me but I can see people enjoying it.
We use to go to the old Matteo's in Huntington all the time. This was our first visit to the remodeled one. The place is absolutely beautiful, a 10. The food however was a disappointment. The fried calamari was too big, tough and tasted like frozen stuff. The pasta carbonara was noodles dried out on top and soaking in butter. The bolognese sauce was dry. Overall the food gets a 5 out of 10.
Absolutely appalling service. We ordered six appetizers apiece and six dinners (two of which were orders of branzino fish). When the main courses were delivered, my aunt asked about the branzino because it appeared white and mushy and looked to be covered in butter sauce despite the description of "herb encrusted" in the menu and our previous experience with the same dish in the same restaurant. The general manager, Cliff, came to our table and began berating my aunt and uncle for simply asking whether there was butter on the fish or not (my uncle cannot eat butter, butter was not listed on the menu, the previous times the dish was ordered it looked significantly different). He raised his voice and was incredible rude and inappropriate towards the entire table. My aunt and uncle were speechless at the disrespect and instead of apologizing, Cliff proceeded to say, "if you promise to take it down a notch, I will too" implying that we had at any point acted inappropriately. Not that it is any of Cliff's business but we were eating together in remembrance of my uncle's father who has just passed away. All of us were respectful and fairly morose during dinner and did not deserve the verbal abuse Cliff gave my family. I would not recommend Matteo's unless you wish to be humiliated and dressed down during dinner by a very angry and unprofessional man. Our waiter was phenomenal, patient and kind.
Another great dinner at Matteo’s. Loves the seasonal specials.
Beautiful restaurant. They did a great job with the renovation. I found the food to be good but nothing special. My family didnt like the chicken dish they ordered. It was very expensive and not worth the amount spent. There isnt much to eat if you are vegan btw.
The staff were incredibly friendly and went out of their way to make me feel very special on my birthday. Will definitely be returning.
Adjusted our reservation from 6 people to 8 people and we were accommodated without a problem. Table was ready upon arrival and seated promptly. Reuben, our server, was fantastic. Food was excellent. Great experience from start to finish!
Food was okay, nothing special. All the staff was very nice. It was a Friday night and the place was practically empty. I found that weird. Would I go back? Probably not . But it was good, not great.
This was our first time back to Matteo’s since they rebuilt it. Beautiful job. Very spacious, with lots of seating.
Our waiter was very nice, food was very good, portions just right.
We will definitely be back.
We had baked clams, which were very good. We also had the pappardelle with Bolognese sauce. It was just average. Cheesecake for dessert was great! Service is impeccable. Martinis at the bar, fantastic!
Appetizers were very good. Entrees were sub-par. Very unruly children at next table made our time very unpleasant until they left. Very disappointed as we’ve been to the FL restaurant many times and like it.
The food was excellent, cooked to perfection, served hot and the server was knowledgeable, friendly, helpful, funny, helpful and more. Appetizers all the way to dessert perfect. Never did we feel hurried. I reccomend for dates, birthdays, nite out, the kids also liked it. Highly recommend.
Air conditioning broken on a 90 degree day. Should have informed guests of it before seating them.
Made a reservation for Sunday family dinner and we were seated promptly. Service was outstanding. Food was very good and not a long wait for the courses to come out. Highly recommend for date night, dinner parties, special occasions...
We decided to give Matteo's another try this past weekend. Our first visit there months ago left us nonplussed. The restaurant was way too busy and the service was very slow. This time we saw that part of the restaurant was very full, but we were seated in a completely empty section, so we thought we'd get better service. Unfortunately our waiter was also managing at least one other table that had many people, and while he was great, the service was yet again very slow. The food is good, the prices are a little high.
Wonderful setting outside on the patio! The service could not have been better . Vincent made sure of that!!!
Food and Service were excellent. Ask For Anthony, he was great.
Terrific. Service and food was excellent.
Quality food, great ambiance and friendly service
My husband and I went there for 1st time for our Anniversary. The hostess brought us into the room with open noisy kitchen . We asked to sit in the other room but were told only 4 or more people can sit in there . Mind you it was 6:00 and only one table of six were in the room . A very nice employee tried to help us out and seated us in a little alcove area for 2 . If it wasnt for Freddy's accomodating manner we planned on leaving. My husband liked his veal parm , but my branzino was dry with no sauce .
Final words , dont bother dressing up , most diners were in shorts . Not at all what we expected.
It is a beautiful restaurant and the food is very good but the noise level is extremely extremely loud! Which ruins the ambience.
The waitstaff seemed like they were really not committed to serving us. There were three people waiting on us when all we needed was one who was sincerely interested would have worked. The entree’s were very good but the side of roasted potatoes was so overdone and dried out that my jaw hurt from chewing. The dessert which was supposed to be a highlight, the Roche hazelnut dessert tasted old and absolutely no flavor of fresh hazelnut. I’m really on the fence about returning. And the valet cannot drive stick. Thank god I didn’t leave him with my car.
