It was quite nice for my partner and I it was a Sunday romantic lunch
It was an awesome experience and I really love the Lazy Yak Beer! :)
The breakfast was bacon & egg roll for 2.
The waiter served the bbq sauce on the side with the aioli which was his suggestion as i wasnt sure if the sauce was going to be suitable
Happy with his suggestion
Loved the black ink squid fettucine
would liked it served as main course
The pork strap dish was very good
Rump steak too rare
Beef cheeks very tender
The restaurant it’s self dose not have a “brewery” feel about it at all . It is more like they are trying for fine dining with a set menu no exceptions. The food was good but if I go again I will definitely go befor 6pm and just have pizza and beer ! Much more like a real brewery
Great experience! The beer tasting board was great. Music was a little loud but we asked it to be turned down and they were happy to oblige. Food was quick and lots to choose from.
Great food and wine. And great beer selection. Great value
Had a great night the food delicious. Needed a bit more lighting outside as we had difficulty finding entrance in dark.
The beef cheek was to die for! A fantastic feed and fabulous service.
Food was excellent, service great and staff very helpful and friendly
Food was very good, service was excellent, very friendly staff, will go back again.
Went there for birthday dinner, service and food was good however, ambience was dull and prices were incredibly high for small portion sizes and quality.
Not the best place to eat at all... no chicken main dishes ..better catching a taxi to elsewhere for food ..
Very busy which is good for them..................
Poor service. Was over charged, even though I had given 2x $15 voucher for our accommodation stay at Hunter Valley Resort.
I had Bircher muesli, it was very dry, nowhere near enough yoghurt and/ juice in it. Big breakfast had no bacon, would rather bacon than chorizo.
Great pizzas and very accommodating staff! Would do again!
Matilda Bay Brewhouse was really nice to have dinner. The food was well presented and good value for money. The staff were amazing, they were very friendly without being overbearing. We really enjoyed our experience at this restaurant.
Tasty food, good service and really enjoyed the paddle tasting experience
Food was excellent, the wine we brought with us from the cellar door on the property which was welcomed by the establishment and cheaper than by the glass. Service attentive and yet unobtrusive a lovely value for money dining experience
Overall, a really lovely evening with some nice food and good friends. The wait staff seemed to be a bit short-handed. The interactions that we had with our wait staff were very good but they seemed under pressure. Meals were good and filling. Everyone at our table felt that food was a bit overpriced for what it was if we were having to pay normal prices (we used our Dine & Discover vouchers).
Sorry, but you asked.
It shouldn’t be compulsory to have two courses at a cost of $55. I only have a small appetite so had an entree and a dessert which I mostly let my husband eat. That’s way too expensive for two small courses!
The prawn ink squid pasta entree had mainly calamari in it. My husband had lamb with roasted Greek vegetables. The vegetables definitely were not roasted! If there is a menu variation, the waiter should inform the patron before they take the order.
The quality of the food was excellent and the servings very generous. The waiters were attentive. The decor was dated, however they are about to commence renovations.
We arrived for our booking. We got told that our table may be taken if so sit anywhere. QR code’s were available to order food but when doing so it said that ordering was closed. Minimal staff at bar. Huge lines so we went elsewhere.
Really friendly staff serving us :) We had the pumpkin tart which was delicious and the potato gnocchi for starters and mains and the chocolate cake with the raspberry sorbet for dessert - the sorbet was absolutely delicious. The tasting board was good value :)
Matilda Bay Brewhouse Hunter Valley was a wonderful experience. The food was amazing and the service was fantastic. Will definitely go back.
Terrible place. They run it like a tuck shop. Long lines for average beer. A debacle trying to organise a table.
good food good ambience you may want to visit again
Fantastic service and food highly recommend great value
Loved our waitress ! She was soo lovely can’t remember her name but she was young.
Only thing we didn’t like was the menu being a set $55 and 2 course meal. That’s surely outdated and the restaurant isn’t that posh to set that price for a meal that’s not worth that price, espically for a entree or Desert which was not worth $25 nor did it taste it. Loved our main meal.
The $55 2 course meal should be an option not set thing.
We should have checked the menu before booking. Nothing we really liked in regards to choosing an Entree or Main dish.
Lunch Menu the same as Dinner so we couldn’t have lunch either.
Disappointing as we would have liked to have lunch and dinner at the resort rather than driving anywhere.
The desserts were amazing.
This of course is our personal opinion based on what we prefer to each.
This evening we had again booked to be in the restaurant, but as there was a wedding in the main restaurant, we were seated in the area outside the restaurant. My friend saw a pizza coming out of the kitchen and asked if she could have pizza for dinner, even though it wasn't on the restaurant menu. We were advised that, if we wanted pizza, we had to move to the bar area, where we were required to sit on high stools at long communal tables. So we moved to the bar area, only to discover that, if we sat there, I was unable to have the restaurant menu. I am coeliac, but they told me they had gluten free pizza bases. So I had to have pizza as there was nothing else on the menu in the bar. It was another disappointing evening
The team was fantastic and went out of their way to help
Food was great and the bar staff informative
The winery team helped us and great commentary on the wines
The venue easy to get to and grounds clean neat and well designed
Dinner, breakfast and drinkies were all super dooper
We had booked dinner using a package that included a three course dinner. However the choices were limited and there were only 2 gluten free items on the main course menu. The waiters themselves were lovely, but there was a great deal of confusion about the dinner voucher and the main courses were very short on vegetables and there were no side dishes of extra vegetables you could order.
The service was OK. All the waiters were male and young, still in training.
The food was dreadful. We were forced to buy a two course meal, which we never do.
For dinner I had lamb - my partner tried some and my said it was tough like it was three weeks' old. The whole meal tasted bitter so I my partner shared some of his meal.
The sticky date pudding with vanilla bean ice cream and caramel syrup was delicious. I NEVER eat dessert, but I had room for some after not eating much of the main meal. I don't think their chef made any of the dessert.
I purchased two $15 vouchers online for breakfast, which I expected to be a continental breakfast. Instead, it was food off a menu, most of which cost more than the $15 voucher, so we had to pay extra for the difference.
We both had bacon, which was also dry and seriously overcooked and leathery, like it was left to sit out on a windowsill for the day.
Overall, we both agreed we were not interested to ever eat there again and would not recommend it to anyone.
The service was very poor, orders got forgotten and staff didn’t necessarily know what they were doing
Like the rest of our Hunter Valley resort experience, deeply disappointing. No food allergies, yet we had difficulty finding anything we liked in the menu. Average bottle of red was charged as if premium.
The food was really nice, but unfortunately the atmosphere and décor was a bit disappointing. We ordered the braised beef cheeks and the Lamb as mains, and they were delicious! Our children had a bowl of chips and the sticky chilli & cola glazed chicken, these were also really good! The food came out very quickly too. What lets this place down is the dated and run down décor in the rear of the building (they don't show this part in any of the photos) brown, lumpy carpets, white table cloths thrown over plastic fold-up tables, white canvas/tarp sagging from the ceiling between the rafters - really doesn't make for an enjoyable dining experience. It was raining so perhaps sitting outside on a nice sunny day might be nicer! Unfortunately the service also wasn't great, we waited for so long to be seated that my husband had to ask someone working behind the bar. However it may have been a case of being short staffed, I'm not sure. And perhaps ditch the weird plastic food containers with the red & white gingham paper that the food comes out in? Not a great look. For a tad more class I would suggest perhaps going to K-Mart and getting some nice white plates or something to serve the food on.
