   The restaurant is nice and modern. We ordered triple tower, which was something that we wanted to try and since it was three of us we thought it was a good option. Unfortunately, the oysters were not fresh and as soon as we start eating them, we realized they’re not fresh which caused two of us to get sick last night. We mentioned to the owner and he wanted to give us a discount, but it was not about the discount. It was about the fact that the oysters were not fresh. Just wanted to give everybody a heads up.

   I recently had the pleasure of dining at Mati with a friend, and from start to finish, the experience was delightful. We were warmly welcomed and made to feel right at home. The server took the time to walk us through the menu, which made choosing our dishes much easier and more enjoyable. The food was excellent overall. I particularly loved the tuna tartare - it was refreshing and flavorful. We also tried the Tom Yum PEI mussels, which were okay, but my friend really enjoyed the spicy vodka rigatoni. Overall, it was a great experience with good food and attentive service. I definitely plan to come back again.

   The quality of the food was very good. The portion sizes were large and each item was tasty and well presented. The white wine arrived warm but was immediately put in an ice bucket and ice cubes were provided to chill the wine in the glass. At $85/bottle, it should arrive pre-chilled and the ice bucket used purely to keep it chilled throughout the meal. The table was beautifully set and the "Happy Anniversary" card was a very nice touch. The service, from the initial host/hostess greeting to our pleasant waitress, was quick and attentive. The menu is pricey and more suited to a special occasion versus casual dining.

   Our dinner was terrific and the service was outstanding. We will be returning for sure. One of my new favorite places to eat in Ottawa.

   Service was impeccable. Lunch menu portions smaller than at night so was not expected but understandable because of tje lower prices.

   We went to Mati to celebrate my friends birthday. The ambience was warm and welcoming, and the starters were great. However, the seafood we ordered was disappointing—the lobster and shrimp were too salty, and the calamari didn’t taste fresh. We brought it to their attention, and they replaced the dishes, which we appreciated. That said, given it was a birthday celebration, we believe they could have done more to make up for the experience—perhaps a more personal apology would have helped. Overall, the service was okay, but it missed that extra touch to make the evening feel special.
