The food was incredible, as were the drinks! The food came out quickly and we had a variety of options to choose from and share. I would happily come here again!

Spent $120 on a steak to celebrate my friends birthday and they rushed us out for a large party. Very disappointing.

My wife and I had a wonderful experience prior to seeing a Broadway show. It was our first time there and the atmosphere, drinks, and food were spot on. We will return.

The dinner on Saturday was lovely. We started with the pate (OMG SO SMOOTH!), the deviled eggs (also amazing!) and the beet salad. All things were amazing. Our second course was the "seafood" course with the octopus (good, but needed a bit more acid), the clams (SO tasty) and the Tortilla Espana (so traditional and awesome). We also squeezed in the pork chops (DELICIOUS!). The only thing less than delicious was the chocolate mousse for dessert. It wasn't bad, but it was just OK. Overall, I highly recommend Mateo!

We have eaten at a lot of places in the triangle and this is easily the best tapas and one of our favorite restaurants in the area. It very reasonably priced too. We rarely repeat restaurant visits so we can keep trying new ones, but Mateo has been an exception. Would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone.
