An excellent evening with family. Trevor (staff who attended us) couldn’t be more suited to this environment. Positive throughout. A memory was created. Thank you, all.
It was okay
Our server, Joanna, was exceptional. She knew exactly when to be attentive. She also made sure we were happy, all done in very timely manner. The menu offers a nice variety, and pricing is in line for all. The oysters, lobster bisque starters were both exceptional. Our side orders of fries and spinach were large portions, prepared very well. We do miss the skinny fries though. We did feel the quality of our wet-aged porterhouse was quite good, just not great. We purchase prime porterhouses at our butcher that are exceptional quality, so perhaps this is why we were not wow'd. Seems pre-covid the porterhouses at Mastro's were a bit better. The wine list is expensive, yet we were able to find a great bottle for a fair price. The bar makes a great cocktail always, thank you! As for the host stand, this staff is to be commended. They manage the tables and patrons perfectly, even offering masks for those that do not wear one upon entry. They seem to know how to treat everyone special.
The food was good, the service was optimal.
I had a shell in my lobster Mac and Cheese
Great food and drinks. Vibe is awesome. Great for a date.
Spent an evening celebrating birthday and engagement with some delicious food. Always an enjoyable dinner out.
Simply the best, as always!
Food tasted good, but the portions and service were well below the pre-COVID standards. Wasn’t impressed at all. This used to be a great place to go, but at this point not worth the money.
Excellent food and service , but the price is becoming unaffordable
Great night out as always at Mastros! The staff was amazing and the singer was phenomenal!
We had a delicious meal and birthday celebration. Melissa and staff provided excellent service!
Great place, great food.
Our customers loved the place!
Food was great. Customer service was perfect.
The food and service were excellent. We came to celebrate our anniversary. The only complaint is that the tables were so close together, it was not intimate at all. We had a 2 top sandwiched between 2 other tables. The food and our friendly server made up for it though.
Best meal you can ever have.
If you have never been... Go!
Mastro's is always fantastic, we always leave very satisfied with our meal. The sea food tower is amazing.
The quality of the food and the service is very high, but the noise level was intrusive and limited our ability to have a conversation. The sound system needs to be turned way, way down. The idea that you need loud music to create that 'buzzy' feel needs to be give a decent burial.
Everything from the food to ambiance and especially the service, was superb.
Mastro's is Mastro's. High end, excellent food and great ambience. Only issue we had was the absurd requirement to put a mask on to enter the premise (essentially walk through lobby) and take it off at our table which is less than 10 feet from the lobby. I get that Mastro's has to comply with this ridiculous requirement, but is it really necessary for the receptionist to enforce it if someone is walking through the lobby to go to the restroom too?
Everything, food, service, ambience, was impeccable as usual. Our server Chris was beyond courteous, knowledgeable and professional. Dry ice lemon drops, perfectly cooked appetizers, entrees, and sidea, and of course that legendary bread basket, all were delicious. Bonus was the pianist who played and sang so beautifully, making our evening even more outstanding.
The music was not appropriate for a fine dining establishment and was way too loud. I had to ask three times for them to adjust it down even slightly. The bar tender was out of ingredients to mix one of the drinks we ordered. My wife also ordered a lemon drop which we always get it it was missing the dry ice and normal flair. The menu has fewer items on it. I've been ordering the chef's cut NY strip for years and it is not even on the menu any more. If I was going to a normal restaurant, I would not make a big deal about it, but I was less than thrilled with my experience which was to treat my wife on her 60th birthday to a great and awesome meal, but wound up being a mediocre experience overall
Excellent service and meal, as always.
We always love our time at Mastros. Great ambience and service. Delicious drinks and food. Great place to celebrate our 15th anniversary and we celebrate almost all specials occasions there.
Dear Mastro's, you have lost me as a customer. I will give you some details but the bottom line is...management seems only concerned about profit and not really about customer satisfaction. As you pull up, the head parking attendant and his helper stand and look at you. They don't open the door for the woman who is there to celebrate her birthday. I had to role down my window to ask them to open her door and then they give me attitude. Not a good start. The hostesses ruined the night from the beginning. I had request specific areas and tables and told them when I arrived as well but they danced me around giving me one poor choice after another. They would not seat me in a four top when were two but I then see several four tops with two people after they kept shuffling me. OMG don't ever go to the back room with the door open to the kitchen and the noise and hustle and bustle. Geez, the manager insists that the door stays open. That is not a fine dining experience. Finally this, They continue to push the prices up. Many things are simply outrageous. They charged me for bread. Keep that in mind folks. They now charge for bread. Ordered a $52 small piece of sea bass, ok its supposed to be a fine dining experience but I accepted a bit of crab on top as the waiter described extras. So you tell me, does one piece of crab meat on top of the $52 dollar sea bass reasonable at a charge of $50. You read it correctly, one piece of crab was $50. Ruth Chriss and Flemings and others pay more attention to customer needs and don't gouge on prices. LOL charging for bread!
Megan took the night over the top
What in the world happened to Mastros? What used to be an expensive - but worth it - dining experience has been completely ruined. The steak? Terrible. The crab legs? Frozen. The truffle butter for the steak? Delivered 20 minutes late, after the steak was eaten. Then an attitude about taking it off the bill. I'll never go back.
Good job. Ease up on the salt though. It overpowers the taste of the food. Thanks thank you.
everything was amazing
Our experience last night was different than the dozens that preceded it largely because of the mask mandate that had just gone into effect. Most of the diners complied without issue, but there were a few that were very vocal with their objections and intention to disregard the rule which caused obvious frustration to the management.
Things became much more what we were accustomed to once we were seated. There were a few changes to the menu which caused us to vary from our usual order, but once served we were very happy with our new choices. The food was excellent!
I was concerned that the pandemic might adversely affect the outstanding service for which Mastro's is known, but that wasn't at all the case. Our waiter and the servers were just terrific and added to our overall enjoyment of the evening.
The food was exceptional! The room we sat in was in the back of the kitchen but very cozy. The only complaint is the music was a little too loud.
Celebrated our anniversary. Food was excellent, our server Erin was the best as she is always. Chef Adrian made some off the menu items that were over the top. Always a great time at Mastro’s.
Food never disappoints.
Disappointed for the first time in years. All our favorites, oysters, bone marrow, scalloped potatoes, twice baked potato, not on menu due to “staffing issues” ? How does labor play into a twice baked vs baked potato?
Entire restaurant empty and we get put back in that extra area.
Very very disappointed. Front girls dismissive to older gentleman in front of us, and ignored us for 10”. Not sure what is wrong with TO. BH is not like this. Very sad it was not the special occasion we were hoping for.
Food expensive but worth it …… everything cooked and presented with perfection. Waiter and staff knowledgeable and attentive. Only criticism was the first drink took forever to be delivered; service the rest of the night was perfect … very European … not rushed….. perfect.
Whatever Mastro’s we decide to visit, we always say, “how can they be consistently fantastic”??? Mastro’s Thousand Oaks surpassed all our expectations. Our waiter, Trevor was so attentive and smart! Chef Adrian is a gem. Not only an outstanding chef, but truly cares about those who dine there.
Can’t wait to go back!!!
Our server was Jessica. What a doll! We celebrated our 45th anniversary. The menus we were given were personalized with our names and wished us Happy Anniversary. We started with appetizers. Though it is no longer on the menu, I was able to order my all time favorite, the mambo salad! Yum! Hubby tried to order a crab cocktail as his appetizer, but they were out. We also tried to order their famous onion rings, but they were out! How can Mastros not have Onion Rings? We ordered the scallops and lobster tails as our entrees. They were cooked to perfection. Since we had such a big salad,we skipped the sides.we were full. Jessica brought us cheesecake with Happy Anniversary written in chocolate. Overall,it was a wonderful evening. Jessica was great!
Service was terrible.
