I recently had the pleasure of dining at Mastro's, and it truly exceeded my expectations. The service was amazing, with remarkable attention to detail that made us feel special throughout our dining experience. To enhance the ambiance, a live pianist serenaded the room with beautiful music, creating a delightful atmosphere. And let me tell you, the food was nothing short of spectacular. Each dish was delicious, and the servers even plated the sides onto our dishes. Overall, I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a memorable dining experience!

Steak was overcooked and the scalloped potatoes were burned and had a grainy texture. Also, the valet was $30! Finally, the service was super slow.

Been here many times, but this visit was the first time I had to return the meat bec they didn’t do medium rare correctly. They reheat the same meat and it was ok, but I just hope they got it right the first time… or just gave us new meat. they were busy that day - graduations and early father’s day dinner. Will still go back for sure!

Unfortunately while the food and service is very good the restaurant has extremely loud live music - kind of comical for a steak house. Feels more like a club. So if you want to spend a lot of money and not be able to hear your tablemates or the waitress - then this place is for you. Plenty of other options in the SJ area.

I've been to Mastro’s several times before with my husband, and we've always enjoyed the atmosphere especially on the second floor. The view and ambience are beautiful and perfect for a night out. This time, we brought our eight-year-old daughter along, excited to share the experience with her. When I made the reservation, I specifically requested a nice view like we’ve had in the past. However, we were seated next to the bar in a dark corner of the restaurant, which felt disappointing—especially after including that request in advance. We were about 15 minutes late, and while we understand that could affect seating, it truly felt like we were being “penalized” for it. Sitting next to the bar with a child was uncomfortable, especially when it seemed there were better options available, like a family section elsewhere. As for the food most of it was great. We had the 16oz New York Strip, which was flavorful and perfectly cooked. The portion was generous definitely enough to share. The white cheddar mac and cheese was rich and mouthwatering; we ate every bite. For our daughter, we also ordered the French fried potatoes. The portion was huge, easily for four people. Nothing special about them, but they’re a good option for little ones. I also had the French onion soup, but it was overwhelmingly salty. I tried to flag down our server for about 15 minutes, but she was busy with other tables. When I finally spoke with her, she kindly suggested alternative soups, but by then I was no longer interested in another option. We also tried the California King Crab Roll, which sadly missed the mark. For a place like Mastro’s, I expected something exceptional but truthfully, I’ve had better sushi from Safeway and Costco. I wouldn’t order sushi here again, but it’s good to know there are non-steak options available. One other note we were offered bread at the beginning of the meal, which we accepted, only to find it added as a $5 charge on the bill. I was surprised, as bread usual

We celebrated a college grad and his birthday. The staff were amazing and the food was delicious, perfectly cooked! Jose was fantastic! Highly recommend!

Our steaks we requested medium rare and they came out super rare. We sent them back and when they came back out they were to charred.
