Mastro's Steakhouse - DC
Book your next event with us
Great service. Evan and Jennifer Tag team wait staff were communicative friendly and knowledgeable. Food is great. Second time to Mastro’s in DC and will always come here when in town.
I had bone in filet and fiancé had bone in veal chop. Perfectly cooked. Can’t say enough good stuff about this establishment.
Our favorite Steakhouse to visit in DC. Great environment with excellent music and food.
As always food was amazing and we was very late because of flat tire and traffic and it was a special occasion and they did great by accommodate us and made it work and a great evening
Had a great time, except for a minor inconvenience, upon leaving, my Fiance's coat was lost. It was pretty cold that evening and have not heard word about if the coat has been found. However, we enjoyed our food and plan to visit again, just will not use coat check.
Very good food worth the money
Food was great, service was great, ambiance was great...great night
My girlfriend and I both ordered steaks. My medium rare ribeye came out fine on a 400 degree plate but her filet (medium) came out room temperature on a cold plate. I presume they must have been waiting for my steak, which was a larger cut, to finish cooking. We immediately mentioned it to the waiter and his first move was to bring out a 400 degree plate to our table and try to warm it up on the spot. We initially played along but obviously that was not going to warm up the entire steak. After she tried it we then sent that back and they butterflied the very same piece of meat and brought it back out, now more than well done, claiming it was a new piece of meat. Beyond odd. They were super nice throughout the whole experience- eventually the manager came over to tell us they would not charge us for the "2 steaks" they had served her- and she didn't eat. LOL. Meanwhile my view on the place dropped from holding it in very high regard when we first walked in to considering it a place that really needs to work on their food preparation standards and their means of resolving problems which they caused. We won't be going back.
Consistently good. All around.
Jason was our server and this was my first time here. He was AMAZING. Best service I’ve ever had hands down. I greatly appreciate it you all making that night one to always remember. My mom enjoyed herself and I’ll definitely be back again.
Hands down the best steakhouse that I have ever been to. If you are looking for a great steak, this is the place for you.
This is not our first time eating at Mastro's. The food is always phenomenal. Our server Brett was amazing. He was very knowledgeable about the menu and even items that weren't listed. There was only one minor thing. The temperature of my steak wasn't too my liking and Brett took care of it quickly. I will say some may find Mastro's pricey but it's worth it.
Outstanding food and vibe! We love celebrating something special at Mastros!
This is my third time dining at this location. For them to stress such a dress code, I find it weird when I come yet again and there are diners in Timberland Boots, tennis shoes, and athletic wear to say the least. Yet when I arrive and have to stand by the entrance when it's 20-something degrees outside and asked hardly surrepitiously by the bouncer to "remove my hat" given the circumstances, it just took everything in me to just not go somewhere else. The hostesses were a bit rude. I got the text saying my reservation was ready and 5 minutes later the same hostess that checked me in and chatted me up had no idea who I was anymore. Despite these two things the food was spectatular and so was the service as I only expect. I just may be reconsidering this location or be optimistic in the fact that it was a busy Friday night.
This establishment never disappoints. My rack of lamb and my Hubs NY (Kansas) strip were superb. Our waiter was highly attentive and very accommodating. He provided excellent service with a warm smile!
Great food great service
Went to Mastro’s for the first time on Valentine’s Day with my boo. Enjoyed the atmosphere, food, and drinks. Of course it was crowded due to it being Valentines Day, but I still felt like it was just me and my boo there.. It wasn’t overbearing at all. Our waiters were amazing and accommodating. Great experience.
Pricey but Food is very good with a great range of selections, same goes for wine/spirit list. If you don’t like loud then this is not the place for you. I did not mind but I can see how someone would complain. There is live music. It has a fine dining feel but I would not call it fine dining, maybe that’s because I’ve been to top 10 fine dining restaurants in NYC. If I would compare it to somewhere it would be Delfrisco’s but more expensive. Overall the food was great, service was not that great. It is four star for sure. But definitely not 5.
This was our second time here, and they did not disappoint. Great and prompt service, great recommendations on food/wine pairing, just awesome all around. Highly recommend visiting for any reason!
Loved the food on Valentine’s Day, service was alright. It’s pricey, but the quality was there. Didn’t feel rushed. Overall a good experience.
Always amazing unquestionably the best steakhouse in town
Awesome Awesome Awesome!!
Outstanding service with truly tasty appetizer (crab cake) and steak filet (12 oz). Only minor ding was the lobster mashed potato...while good, it wasn't so awesome to warrant the $38 cost. Regardless, we will be going back
The food was amazing and the wait staff was so kind. The woman at the front was a little snippy but other than that, it was well worth the money!
Outstanding. These folks set the standards for amazing. Pricey but worth every penny. Loved it and will go back.
Food was excellent and service with the exception of we didn’t get our steaks and sides packed up to go. We thought they were packed up with our dessert but we returned home to put them in our refrigerator and they weren’t there. A lot of money was spent and no leftovers were packed for us our mash potatoes, lobster mash potatoes and New York strip and Bone in fillet. We had more than half of the food still left.
Jazz was amazing.
Absolutely superb food. The ambiance will make you fall in love if you're not already. The Waiters and Waitresses are very attentive to all of your needs.
My best friend cancelled her plans with her boyfriend to take me out and cheer me up. This was her first visit but knew it was one of my favorite restaurants, as I do Thanksgivings there. We were seated at a high top table after asking to be seated in a booth that was available, and denied. Our waitress was horrible! She was late, our bread came AFTER my appetizer?? How??? My food came with sauce that doesn’t even come with the meal! I also specifically asked for no sauce just to be clear. Causing me to miss eating with my friend. The manager came over and apologized because the waitress definitely did not. He also took it off the bill which was nice but the moment was already ruined. We ordered dessert hoping to save the experience with the delicious butter cake, which was great! It took us forever to track our waitress down and get our bill, only for her to have not taken my entree off and also mis charging the meal in the first place. We asked for our food to be boxed, since i ate none of my meal I was looking forward to having it for dinner as we had 2:45 reservations (late lunch). Only to get home and see that they had thrown my salmon that was topped with crab meat in, upside down with 3 leftover French fries. Why my food was thrown in the box is beyond me, and the salmon was grossly UNDERCOOKED. My best friend who had a HORRIBLE 1st experience got home to find her butter cake had been cut up into small pieces and thrown in a big box as well, making it trash instead of the sweet treat she thought she had to snack on. I’m not only sad my Valentine’s Day was sub par but to be embarrassed in front of my friend. Her first time there, treating me to a not lightly priced meal just to get bad service and bad food. It saddens me that this happened, I would have Never imagined!
Our waitress, Jasmine was everything! She definitely made the experience worth the price. The birthday guy was beyond happy.
Service was awful. Every customer was snap chatting insta story and flexing in their pics with the flash on. Service was awful. When you spend 200 dollars for a couple of steaks, having the waiter ask if it’s cooked to your standard is customary. The waiter gave me water and took my order once. Never saw him after that. I had to request my bill to leave after sitting for 15 mins with absolutely nothing on my table. Horrible experience. Spend your $200-$500 elsewhere.
We were there to celebrate my birthday and previous experience had been really nice. Our waiter got an order incorrect and we were not able to eat dinner together as recooking the order delayed the process. our drinks normally had the dry ice which adds ambience and fun, after having a few drinks we had to ask her for the dry ice. Even though the manager came over and apologized and compensated for the error, you can't have a do over for your birthday. We made the best of it, but we won't be returning anytime soon. When you are spending $600+ for dinner there is an expectation of service. We didn't receive it on 2/13/20.
We were celebrating my son’s graduation and had a baby in a car seat. The maiter d couldn’t have been nicer and gave us a table with a bench seating to accommodate the car seat. The waitress was also very supportive. Food was delicious but best part was how welcoming they were to our baby. She was well behaved and we had a wonderful evening.
Everything turned out ok but the whole reason for the lunch -- celebrating my friend's birthday -- almost didn't happen. Even though I made a point of saying that it was a birthday AND mentioning it to the hostess as she seated us...no celebratory dessert came after we finished out big steak lunches. I finally had to get up and talk with our main waited. He seemed to know nothing about the birthday! Wow, how disheartening. He then disappeared into the kitchen and came back out with a slice of chocolate cake and a candle. So crisis averted...but not until I had to intervene. Sorry, Mastros, this should not have happened, especially when we pay top dollar for steaks and the rest.
Rice our waiter was phenomenal! When I come back I’ll request him every time !
Great service by Brett. Best shrimp cocktail presentation ever.
My husband took me here for my birthday. The check in process was quick. We sat in the dining room area and the ambiance was very romantic and celebratory. The wait staff was accommodating with water and drinks. Our main waiter was personable and knowledgeable about the food and drinks on the menu. The food was hot when served and it was delicious. After dinner, the wait staff boxed up our meals diligently. Before dessert was served, the waiter cleaned the crumbs from the table and gave us clean spoons and forks. The presentation of the cake for my birthday with candles was exciting and fun. I give this restaurant 5 stars!!!
I made a 7:45 reservation and was seated at 8:35
No apology no nothing
Service was PAINFULLY slow
Edwin was a great waiter, it took forever after we ordered drinks. It must have been 10-15 minutes before we got drinks. Then he left for quite a while before he sent some young lady over it help us with appetizer and orders. She was nice enough to tell us they could do half orders in some appetizers or sides or we would have never finished our meal. He then comes back at end of dinner for bill then has nerve to tell me they should have charged me $3 more dollars on my old fashioned. He didn’t charge me which he should have as my bill was over $300 anyway!
I’ve been to other Mastro’s in California and service was SO GOOD but this service was mediocre at best! It’s unfortunate for Mastro’s and what you pay to have this long wait times in this service!!
Jazz was an amazing server and took care of us! As always it is an amazing experience dining with you.
