Mastro's Steakhouse - DC
Book your next event with us
We had a Monday lunch at Mastro's in D.C. As you can imagine, it was very quiet and not many people inside of the restaurant at this time. The server and food runners were very attentive. Food: We had lobster bisque, spicy mambo salad, a burger and a steak sandwich. All of the food was very good.
Wait staff and management were arrogant at times and service was generally poor. It took 45 minutes for drinks to come out and we didn’t receive main portion until 90 minutes after being seated. Poor experience for restaurant they claims to be high end.
Our waitress Erin was amazing!!
Can’t say enough about the service we received from our waiter - Rice. Rice was fantastic!!!
Rice was our server. First class. The steak was cooked just as ordered. The pecan pie was light and fluffy and warm.
Service was bad.
Steaks were perfect as well as the sides. The 400 degree plates kept all the food hot for the entire meal. Oh did I mention the bread? 10/10!
The last time I was at Maestros I thought the wait staff were not very friendly. It was so different this time. We were greeted at the door in a welcoming manner and then proceeded to have Jennifer and her team mate. Both were delightful, down to earth and so friendly. They were so knowledgeable and made our experience very special. Our food was delicious. Enjoyed every morsel. We will be back.
Great food thanks
Perfect place for special occasion everything was prepared and served in prestine fashion
While the food was outstanding the service level doesn’t come close to what this caliber of restaurant should provide. Our server was very nice and seemed to be doing her best given what was happening at the tables in the rest of her section. For example she literally had to cut my husband off from speaking because she saw the wrong food being delivered to the wrong table and I t took at least 15 minutes but I would say closer to 20 minutes to get our cocktails. To put it bluntly, when you’re spending $700, $850 after tip for a party of four you expect and deserve nothing short of a perfect experience. We left feeling satisfied with our meal but very underwhelmed with our experience. I would not visit this restaurant again.
Great wine selection and great steaks.
Very much enjoyed Mastro’s. We fell in love with the pretzel rolls! The New York strips were perfect!
We ordered the sweet potato fries which were batter dipped before frying. My husband liked them but me not so much.
The key lime martini is as yummy and the chocolate layer cake was yummy.
We go back again!
We go to Mastro's for the steaks and the warm butter cake with stiff whipped cream. As usual, the bone-in filet and bone-in ribeye were excellent. However, the Cajun seasoning on the other bone-in ribeye and the pumpkin flavored warm butter cake were sublime. This was our first visit to the DC Mastro's and it did not disappoint. It is very hard to keep such excellent consistency, yet Mastro's has done it masterfully at the 8 locations I have visited.
Jennifer did an excellent job for us.
Service was lacking. Food was great but our waitress was sub par
Excellent service. My party of truly appreciate everything including the superb host who held our reservation for an additional time. Due to a multiple car(s) accident we where unable to meet the time specified. Upon our arrival, we received a warm welcome from the staff.
You have earned a loyal customer.
Food and drinks were delicious and service excellent!!!
Amazing food and service!
Food was delicious. Best steak around.
It's a nicer place, so it's more expensive, but the food and service are fabulous. Great atmosphere for a date or a business dinner.
My wife's and I experience was truly unforgettable. Michael(waiter) was awesome. Gave us great suggestions on what to order and was very knowledgeable of the menu. It was my wife's 40th b-day celebration and I know that she will never forget this night. We will definitely be coming back.
Fantastic place - great service. Food was outstanding. Highly recommend.
Nice ambiance, great food, huge portions. All in all, a very good time on our double date.
My filet was undercooked. I sent it back, came back still undercooked. Numerous praises for Warm Honey Cake, it was tasteless. Bone-in Ribeye was so fatty, it was inedible.
We asked to have left over box up, the person who boxed it up put fingers in food as he box up and touch utensil with his hand and use it to pick up food.
We decided not to take the box and left the bag at the restaurant.
We have no desire to ever want to go back.
The food was exceptional - the freshest oysters outside of New England and the wet-aged beef made for the most tender filet I've had in years. The service was outstanding with a professional wait staff. A beautiful detour was a bit offset by rock music that was a bit too loud - it didn't fit the room. Overall, a wonderful experience that I would highly recommend.
First time there went for my husband birthday n everything was excellent from the time we walked in the door n the food omg DELICIOUS n the staff were soooo pleasant n helpful. We will visit again
It was my friends 30th Birthday and everything was excellent. They forgot to pack the rest of the birthday girls steak, but the lobster mashed potatoes made up for it ☺️
The dinning room was very dark..fake lighting at the table. Which is disappointing considering the type of restaurant it claims to be.the dreascod was not inforced.could have dated at the cheesecake factory.the majority had on jeans.so being dressed and everyone was underdressed it was a underwhelmed environment. Food very basic.lobster mashed potatoes very wet& soggy .chocolate cake was too wet ,so much simple syrup.the puree in the bowl with the scallops was a terrible taste pairing.the creamed spinach bland . the warm spinach salad was really god and so was the stuffed mushroom..the buyer cake was okay
But I could have just went to Ruth Chris.it wasn't worth the money
It was to celebrate my husband birthday and so many things went wrong...but the manager did try to fix the experience to the best of his ability..but the experience was ruined.
First time at Mastro’s and they didn’t disappoint. The service was excellent and everyone seemed rather attentive. They brought cards and dessert to help celebrate our double special occasions - a birthday and our anniversary, which shows that they noted our requests. We enjoyed the food as well. The only thing I wish it wasn’t the case was the noise level - the background music felt pretty loud and I didn’t enjoy having to raise my voice the whole time we were talking, and I could barely hear our waitress sometimes. Felt like that shouldn’t be the case with a classy restaurant like this. Overall our experience was great and we saw a few other couples and groups there having a great time as well. Good place for special occasions.
Great place to eat really beautiful inside, meat is superb and probably the best quality meat I’ve ever had. Sides were not so great but it was a lot. Took a lot of left overs home. Server was good just didn’t mention items on the menu I didn’t know I could get also with boxing up our food they had trouble and looked like they didn’t even know what to do. I even saw the server use his hand to rearrange my lollipop lamb and thought that was a bit disgusting and unprofessional.
Great food, great people! Rice is an excellent server! Highly recommend! And get Rice’s special martini mix! It’s excellent
Mastros has, once again, been consistently provided a true dining pleasure. Excellent food with excellent service.
There simply isn’t a better lobster bisque served anywhere in the world. Every time I visit this home of perfection, Mastro‘s, I am overwhelmed with the quality and just pure D-Lish lobster bisque. The only reason I marked a little off for service is last night they waited forever to tell us That our Malbec choice was out of stock and it took a little longer than it should have to bring us the replacement. We were served a blackened swordfish steak that was very good and a brilliant red king salmon. You pay a little more at this place but you get perfection and top-notch service on almost every Acacian .
Always get great service and awesome food thank you.
Service & Food are always excellent. Kudos to Hector at the bar who keeps us coming back.
Very upset that I didn't get the table i reserved because a had a lil chest showing they judged from the time you walk thru the door another woman dressed the same as me but she got a passed because her breast was smaller then mines the service was very good. I cannot say the food was worth the money. I would not go back to this restaurant. The steak was fatty and the salad was terrible. The only think that was worth the money was the onion soup and listening to the music that was really good.......
The best steak house I have experienced. Customer service was first class!
I’m a regular at mastros and my experience was nothing but terrible . Racially profiled to the fullest
