It was fantastic
Atmosphere: nice location and view of the coast line
Crowds: they are allowed 442 people by code and it felt as if all 442 sits were occupied. Lots of fancy cars that are occupied by the same
Food: Absolutely wonderful menu. I would place it in the top 3 restaurants in Orange County only because l can not think who # 1 or #2 would be. Great food and drinks
Pricey, but well worth the difference
Give it a chance
Great Place for live music and great food!! Celebrating a 🎂 70th Birthday!
Service just OK, slow and forgot to bring a side. Requests were not followed up. Overall disappointed with service. This was a birthday celebration.
I took my boyfriend for his birthday, it was the first time for both of us. The food was fantastic, pricing was good, and Brett our server was just phenomenal! We will be back! Anthony was the piano player/singer and he was just awesome!
An absolute gem!!! We went to the Newport Beach location for our wedding anniversary. They went above and beyond. The food was everything they claim and the service was top notch. Not one negative comment that mention. A plus plus rating. Super happy! Thanks guys for making our anniversary special. We will be back soon. Chris J Fountain Valley
food great, service great. Noise level way too high. It was hard other my friends
Disappointed with Bourbon selection. My top 4 choices didn’t have. Customer asked for Scotch selection didn’t have.
The setting was sophisticated without being snobby. It was welcoming yet elegant. There were diners in casual attire, so no stiffness.
The service was impeccable and friendly. The dinner menu was extensive and accommodating to varied tastes. The food was delicious! Appetizers and side dishes were great and perfect for sharing.
All this luschiouness comes at a price, so be prepared.
We were still working on our appetizers but the server just came and said your food are here rush us to move the dishes. Bad experience for my boss and coworkers.
Onion rings were too oily !
We come here weekly! They always take care of us!
Excellent food and service!
We've been to all the Maestro's in Los Angeles, even the one in Thousand Oaks. Maestro's - Newport Beach was a disappointing experience. Arrived on time and seated 30 mins late. Ordered steaks medium rare, both steaks came out well done and my wife's plate burned the linen underneath and oil splashed her on the chest. The salt and vinegar french fries were stringy and did not taste like vinegar. We sent our food back to have made new, tool 35 minutes for it to come back. Waiter tried his best but management and kitchen failed. Spoke to the manager who said they would comp our meal in half and offer free dessert. They compensated for $46 of the $200 meal and never followed up. Would not come back and would not recommend.
The hostess was harsh and gave us a hard time about seating. But the restaurant manager stepped up and provided a better table. He saved the day!
Great food but had to wait 30 min past our reservation time to get seated
Mastro's continues to be impeccable in the food, service and overall experience.! Hard to beat the level of perfection in the entire experience.
The emphasis here is on “more” but not necessarily on “better”. My wife’s sea bass was big but dried out. My lamb chops were good but too much and our side of salt and vinegar fries was huge but had very little salt and the vinegar was absent. “Fries”was a misnomer as they were shoestring potatoes!! Our waiter was pleasant and when she asked about the meals we said the sea bass was dried out—-they comp’d the dessert!! Looks like the attraction here is to be seen and an over the top—as in price—Place. There are options for better food in the greater Newport area.
I ordered the filet. Had grizzle and was not a “prime” piece of meat. I don’t object to price, but this level of quality was disappointing. Also the shrimp entre priced at $109 was very excessive price wise...albeit good quality.
Server was very attentive and was the best part of the experience.
Our server, Elaine, was outstanding. For my wife and I it was a very special occasion to go here as it is $$. We were not disappointed! Everything was wonderful. Will definitely want to go again on another special occasion.
I have dined at Mastros in every other city. The service and atmosphere is great, but the food quality was lacking at this one.
Food overpriced. Sautéed spinach had too much garlic. Ribeye was fatty.
It was a great birthday experience for my boyfriend
The food was very good. Our server Charles was very attentive and nice.
A member of our party was told we did not have a reservation. They waited outside for 30 minutes while we were sitting at the table. Finally we called them and the hostesses finally located the reservation. No apologies made.
Very noisy, very crowded (tables too close together), over-priced, mediocre food, ridiculous markup on wine list (I own a better vintage of a wine that I paid $350 for that they had listed for $2,500). Very forgettable and unfortunately disappointing birthday dinner for my wife. I recommend trying somewhere else. Anywhere else.
It was too loud by the bar. Cannot have a conversation.
The food and service are always top notch. Very loud and crowded.
Waiter “Chris” was outstanding, turning a special evening into a memorable event!
A perfect special occasion spot - delicious dining experience
Alicia was great up front seating us at a lovely table after our first one wasn’t up to par.
Fernando was a great server.
And Michael, the Sommelier, offered a perfect wine for the evening a Beaucastel 2015 Chateauneuf du Pape
Always a great dinner at Mastros. We love their martinis to start with, plus always a good wine pour. The Heirloom Tomato and Burrata Salad is a favorite. The Seabass blackened was good last night but also a little fishy tasting. I’ve had it here better. My Halibut blackened needed to be returned as it was undercooked. They returned it to me and it was delicious. The Butter Cake is always a must! They also gave us a piece of their chocolate cake to make up for the fish preparation issue. The cake was moist and delicious.
Our server Charles was amazing! You can tell when someone loves their job. Charles took the time to explain the menu to us and truly made the experience that much more special. We were celebrating my fiancé’s birthday
Great experience! They gave us an excellent free butter cake for my boyfriend’s birthday.
Great bartender, Mark and great waiter Justin. Both of theses guys along with the wonderful meal made our evening special.
Very very disappointing.
Had to send the wagu back 3 times .
For a $150 steak it’s unacceptable.
I eat here twice a week and possibly the worst and most embarrassing experience in taking out of town guests.
REALLY NOISY RESTAURANT and a bit difficult to chat with your table. Delicious food and attentive service.
Service was not good. The bus boys and runners were attentive but our waiter wasn’t around much. The wait time between appetizer and entree was ridiculous. Steak was not prepared to the correct temp, and they are a steakhouse! None of the food tasted particularly good except for the calamari. Waiter was not attentive, and didn’t even provide us menus for a long time. I’ve been to this location several times in the past. Not sure if they changed management, but this place is terrible and has no value now. Especially when a $70 steak isn’t even prepared correctly. Both terrible service and food.
