Masa is a modern Mexican cocina from Denver’s acclaimed Kevin Taylor Restaurant Group. Executive Chef/Partner Frank Blea and Chef/Partner Ryan Taylor create contemporary Mexican fare rooted in traditional flavors that span the entirety of Mexico, rather than a singular region. Inspired by their travels and love of street food, Masa features light, fresh and playful dishes, such as tacos al pastor; pork shoulder molcajete; Oaxacan chile rellenos; and tilapia Veracruz. The bar program focuses on agave spirits—with more than 30 tequilas and mezcals for sipping, and used to craft margaritas and palomas—as well as Mexican beer and wine. The 3,200-sq. ft. restaurant offers a youthful atmosphere and bright, bold décor, including one-of-a-kind artwork and handcrafted lanterns hand-picked in Oaxaca by the Taylors; bamboo tables; red polished concrete floors; and Mexican-inspired tiles – with a vibe further accentuated by a vibrant playlist.

    Amazing three-course meal! I loved my squash salad to start, then had tender and flavorful chicken mole for the entree. My husband loved his enchiladas too. Our favorite part was dessert - the churros were excellent and the rich Mexican hot chocolate sauce made them special. The coconut guava cake was also good.

    Nice little place to go before a show at the 1st Bank Center. I gave the food 4 stars because the enchiladas were a little bit more like taquitos, and the ancho Chile chocolate tarta was too salty.

    We made our reservation for restaurant week - an opportunity to try a new place. They were ready for us as soon as we got there, and took us to our table. The food was good, and even though service was a little on the slow side (we allowed 90 min for dinner, but it pushed closer to 2 hours, so we had to rush through dessert to make our movie) our server was very accommodating. At one point, while delivering our meal, the manager accidentally grabbed both our margarita glasses. I was done with mine, but my wife still had about a third left. When we let them know, they brought my wife a new drink immediately.

    Food unlike your average Mexican restaurant. True Mexican cuisine with fresh ingredients. The menu is reasonably priced and there’s a great variety. We will definitely be visiting again.

    This is my third visit to Masa and by far the service was the best this visit. The food is wonderful an upscale Mexican cuisine not the usual offerings. Over all the place is nice but always cold, I now know to bring a sweater.
