The Marquis II was established in 1945 at its original location on Shepard and West Gray. Although we have been through a lot of changes and moved locations over the years, the Marquis II has always stayed true to its identity as a neighborhood bar. Located in the heart of Houston in the City of West University, the Marquis II is a great place to watch the game or enjoy a great happy hour after a long day at work. We offer an assortment of craft beer and specialty cocktails but people come from all over for one thing: The Texas Tea. With 13 different flavors, the Texas Tea has been our signature drink for over five decades. Whether you live in Houston or just passing through, stopping by and having a Texas Tea is on everybody’s “To Do” list.

Great time - watched the Astros game. Great service at our table. Social distancing and mask wearing was enforced. Really enjoyed the special brisket sandwich that was offered.

Went to the Marquis ii for MLB Opening Day. It was such a treat to be able to go to a bar and feel safe with all this Covid 19 going around . We made a reservation on open table . All tables were socially distant, everyone was in a mask. There was hand sanitizer on every table . We could not have asked for more . The drinks were fabulous and the owner made a point to come around and make sure we were all doing good. It’s that place where everyone knows your name.

Always fun and laid back. Comfy cozy had a great time catching up with a few friends. They’re taking the guests safety to the next level! One of the best responses to the CV that I’ve seen in town

Great neighborhood bar/lounge. Tables socially distant , masks required, hand sanitizer on every table . What a great bar to go to and feel safe. Great drinks!

Very clean and safe, it was nice to get out and not worry. they are constantly cleaning and those machines they have that kill all germs and disease. Felt as safe there as my own home. Can't wait to get back. A nice break from being home 24/7...
