It was truly a pleasure to dine here. Our server was funny, professional, and knowledgeable. We ordered the special of oysters and prawns and we received deep fried oysters and prawns but we expected pan fried. It was still delicious but just unexpected! had the lamb chops which were cooked to perfection! For dessert we had the crème brûlée which is exactly what we needed to finish the wonderful meal. The environment was nice and there was no specific dress code. Overall it was a great dining experience!

This was not our first time dining at Marks. We prefer to dine here for very special occasions. Our server, Valerie, was very knowledgable about the menu, professional in service, and personable without being overindulgent. Wine was reasonably priced, entrees (Red Snapper & Lamb Chops) with sides were seasoned well and tasted delicious. There was a comment about the lamb chops being a little tough to cut, but tasted delicious. We did have desert, and split the Trio between us, but found that it was a bit over the top for us. Should have stayed with our first choice, Creme Brûlée. The prices are, well, pricey. But the food is prepared quite well and served quite well. And the atmosphere can be laid back, cozy and romantic, or professional and impressive.

This was our first visit. Our waitress Valerie was very attentive and informative about menu items. We had a wonderful meal. The petite fillet was perfect, the scallops were large and delicious as well. We couldn't decide on one desert so we got the combination which was a smaller serving of 3 deserts-glad we decided to that-they were all delicious. Expensive but worth it!

We had a fantastic family dinner to celebrate our son-in-law's new job. Jessica was an excellent server, and Scion served up some great drinks at the bar after dinner. Excellent meal and service!!

We have been coming for ten years. The service was excellent but the kitchen was slow and the food was way below Marks high standards. A very disappointing visit for our 10th anniversary. Not a good effort. Again our waiter was superb.

If you are a foodie or accustomed to quality food whether in a fine dining setting or “ a hole in wall” take out, you might be disappointed. The food was average at best. A Houston Restaurant chain in my experience serves better quality rib eye steaks. I had the Delmonico steak which was pricey. It was really a C+ steak experience at most. Not much taste to steak because not seasoned with salt when cooked. Steaks have to be salted before searing to infuse flavor. It was advertised as Well marbled but lacked flavor or tenderness of a well marbled steak in my opinion. The salad was good with a house made blue cheese dressing. I think this is likely best Gainesville has to offer. It was a pleasant and decent meal but overpriced and geared to tourist palate.

Ambiance: Loved sitting in bar area booth--felt like part of a happy crowd. Service was good for such a crowd. All the food and drinks were excellent except for my main entre which was doused in salt and more salt and minus the promised mushrooms. Would definitely return and order a steak--minus salt and on the rare side of medium rare. Prices were standard for such a restaurant and glad they are in Gainesville.
