A generous 11oz. full cut portion of this classic favorite.
Dined here last night for my partner's birthday; it was the first time there for both of us. The service was professional all around; our server was friendly and very attentive. All of the food was prepared exactly as we wanted it, and the cocktails were flavorful and well-balanced. Very nice atmosphere; low lighting and good music. It's much nicer on the inside than its outside appearance might suggest (this could be why some diners showed up in quite casual dress). Yes, it's pricy, but well worth it for a special occasion.
Have not dined at Marks since Covid. First thing missing was valet parking. Service was exceptional, however food was mediocre. Steaks for the most part were cooked to proper temperature, but missing that 5star aged beef flavor. Sides were poor with potato side cheesy and greasy. Our waiter was exceptional making overall experience good.
We spent over 500 here. Waiter was great! super good guy. Food was just very very average. Not nearly as good as it should be for an upscale price.
We had asked to sit outside but it was too windy. They moved us inside without any hesitation. The staff was great and so was the service. The food is always outstanding.
We have been several times, but last night’s dinner and experience was the best yet. Would HIGHLY recommend to anyone. We will be back.
We had a drink at the bar before the dinner. The cocktails were excellent. At dinner I had the filet mignon which was excellent but my husband had the lamb chops which were spectacular. We both enjoyed our wines at dinner and the crème Brûlée was the best we’ve ever had. Kaylee our server couldn’t have been more attentive. It was our 45th anniversary and we had an excellent experience.
Great place to celebrate a special event. Food is always excellent and service is spectacular. They are also able to handle large groups. Already looking forward to our next visit!
Great traditional steak house.
Service & ambiance is terrific.
Entree sizes are very small for the money , side dishes & apps are great sizes .
Great as always. Mark’s never disappoints. Our go to.
Great experience all around… food, service, and atmosphere!
Service, food and atmosphere were great. Always a great experience.
Very good service
Food very good
Food was very good. The service was good. The cost was insane.
This was a family dinner to celebrate my birthday. The food was amazing and the service was very good. Mark's is my favorite place in Gainesville!
Marks is always good! Best steaks in town and good wine list
Best steak house we have ever been to. Truly the best steak I have ever had. Can’t wait to go back.
30th birthday dinner
Atmosphere was good, not busy, service much like any restaurant. Value? Not really anything different than Chili’s, Applebee’s, or Red Lobster. The $51 filet was good but could get it cheaper for the value.
Excellent service by Scott!
This is the second time we have been to Mark's in the last year. Although a little pricey for the location the food, for the most part, was very good. Three in our party ordered the Delmonico which was excellent. We learned this lesson from our last visit. Each were cooked to the right temperature and very tasty. Although one of us did order the brandy peppercorn sauce on the side it really was not needed. The fourth person in our party ordered the Tenderloin Tips which was just awful. It looked as if they just trimmed the fat from a cooked steak and served it as a dish. It was very rare, fatty and not very good. The person who ordered it opted not to return the dish or make a scene since we were there for a birthday celebration, and she didn’t want to put a blemish on the evening. She chalked it up to a poor execution by the kitchen. Just like our last visit, when we learned to skip the Lobster Escargot appetizer, this time we learned to skip the Steak Tips. For dessert we opted to try the tasting trio as a shared plate. This was good as it gave us an opportunity to try a little of each dessert without being overwhelmed. Of the three tastes the Chocolate Paradise was the clear winner.
Excellent food and great customer service thank you.
First time there. Better than Embers.
Husband’s Birthday! 🎉
We enjoyed our dinner at Mark’s, which I’d put in the Morton’s / Fleming’s / Capital Grille class of steakhouse.
Very pricey, but drinks were great, French onion soup and salads were delicious, and entrees were excellent.
We were able to dine outside (very nice, because the interior of the restaurant and the bar were pretty crowded).
Our server was extremely attentive, though the kitchen really took a long while to prepare the entrees.
The steak was AMAZING!!!!!!! The service was just as amazing!
Had to good the filet cooked 3 times for them to get it right. Everything else was great.
Very professional staff and excellently tasting meals
Overall meal was very good. I had the special which was a tomahawk short rib and it wasn’t as tender as I would have expected but overall a good meal.
Outstanding filet. Would highly recommend that restaurant if you are looking for an upscale restaurant with great beef.
Grade A+ on service, atmosphere and Food! This is our 3rd time having dinner here and it most definitely won’t be our last !
Mark’s is our favorite restaurant in Gainesville! We dine there every time we are in Gainesville visiting our son. Our favorites are the filet, creamed spinach, and the excellent wine list!
Always fabulous at Marks but only one thing this last time. They don’t have valet parking due to COVID so they supposedly validate your parking for the parking garage but after they put the sticker on my ticket and I went to leave I still got charged $7 to park.
Wonderful food and excellent service
The food was delicious especially the filet. Our waiter was knowledgeable & easy to interact with. They were excellent with a special request due to food allergies. It was a great experience & we hope to return soon.
What a great experience in every aspect. Service was incredible and the food was amazing. I wish they had more locations in Florida.
Nice ambiance and selection. Little pricey but food was very well prepared.
Cold hostess, great service and amazing food.
Outstanding food from escargot appetizer, ceaser salad, bone in ribeye, new york strip, filet and surf and turf then dessert! Our waiter Tony was awesome! Highly recommended!
Mark’s Prime is at top of my list with Capital Grill and Ruths; I actually like Mark’s better as the atmosphere and ambiance is very warm and authentic. Service is professional and experienced. Looking forward already to my next visit to Gainesville.
