We were early to our reservation, and they accommodated us as they had open tables. The food was amazing, we were full but wanted to keep eating. Overall we enjoyed our time at this establishment and will definitely return when we are back in the area.

Receptionist did not know which party had a reservation vs walk ins. She had to ask different groups multiple times if they had a reservation or not. I made a reservation for 12:15, and other walk in parties were seated before me. We did not get seated until 12:30 after the receptionist realized we were still waiting. After being seated in the back room, our waitress did not come by for another 10-15 minutes. I understand many businesses are understaffed, but don’t accept so many reservations and walk in if you can’t accommodate. Also my latte was full of coffee grounds and I had to send it back. Someone should tell whoever is making lattes that a latte is made with espresso, not a pour over coffee.

Still one of my favorite restaurants - disappointing this last time as the roasted vegetables that accompanied Mary's Chicken were VERY burnt. The very droll waitress didn't check with us so we just sucked it up. The other meals were very good. May go elsewhere next time we are in Stockton.

We are regular customers at this restaurant & the food, especially the skirt steak is wonderful. However, we have been very disappointed in the quality of their desserts. It appears the new dessert chef is focusing on vegan & gluten free desserts that we do not care for. They are very dense, dry, and heavy. Please bring back your old desserts, especially the bread pudding & the chocolate brownie with vanilla ice cream. Otherwise this place is awesome!!!!’

Wonderful food as usual. It’s our family’s favorite restaurant. Mary’s chicken and rib steak never disappoints. All fish dishes are outstanding. Server was very overwhelmed and we kept asking for drinks bread etc. “Oh I forgot “ was her reply a few times. Maybe new? But we love all the food here- you won’t be disappointed if you choose to eat here. Usually service is on point too.

Got seated in the back area where the ambiance was quieter which was great so it was easier for us to talk. The food was outstanding. I hadn’t been there in a while and forgot how yummy the Furikake Fries were. Mac & Cheese…so good & loved the addition of jalapenos. I enjoyed my burger although it seemed to be missing the pickles which I thought automatically came with it. We ordered a mushroom pizza to share and that was also yummy. Yes we ordered a lot of food and even ordered dessert and everything we had did not disappoint

Very disappointed! I heard good and bad things about this place and thought I would try it for myself. My husband ordered the Steak and asked for it to be cooked medium well and when it arrived, it was charred and over cooked. I ordered the Flank steak also medium well, again over cooked and very rubbery. The service was good, our waitress was excellent. We’ve tried many restaurants in the area, but I don’t think we will be returning to this place.

This is my wife’s favorite restaurant in Stockton Ca. We come here one or twice a week for lunch or dinner. The food is great, the ambiance is relaxing and the service is good most of the time. My only reason I didn’t give it a perfect score is the aparece of the greater/ hostess. The clothing of the hostess/greeter was a little to casual. And by casual I mean sloppy with torn jeans. Also, the greeting is not friendly and or no smiling.

First time visiting Market Tavern and we were not impressed. It was our ninth Wedding Anniversary so we figured this would be a nice place to celebrate it. Our dinner reservations was set for 5 o’clock, we were 15 minutes early, and we were seated at 510. We started with the bone marrow and there wasn’t enough marrow for two of the small pieces of toast. That was a a disappointing $21 starter. I strongly suggest you don’t order the bone marrow. We ordered the Thai brussels sprouts, which were very good. My wife ordered the market special of the day which was the ribeye for $50. We were expecting a high-end steak and she ended up passing her ribeye over to me because it was too tough and the skirt steak that I ordered had better flavor and was more tender. Both plates came with mashed potatoes and herbed greens. The mashed potatoes were OK and we didn’t eat the greens. They were cold and just a wet mess. We asked for the desert menu and nothing jumped off the page. So, out the door with tip it came to $161. We won’t come back and do that same thing again, because we were told that the Beef stroganoff would be a good choice. Watching the plates come off of the runners lane we were inclined to want to come back for the half chicken dinner the hamburger the beef stroganoff the eggplant and possibly the rigatoni. So out of a score of 1 to 10 I’d give it a four this time around but we have high expectations for our next visit. It had to be a fluke.

Food was average with a high price . I ordered the bone marrow appetizer. It was ok, I just wished the bread wasn’t soaked with butter. And for the entree I got the cut of the day which was a ribeye. Ordered it medium rare, and it came out almost medium well. Overall was meh. Not sure if I would come again.

We made a reservation for brunch this weekend and arrived approximately 15 minutes early. While there were many booths open, we were seated at a high top in the bar which was not my first choice. I briefly thought about asking to be seated in a booth, but decided not to. The hostess seemed nervous and stated she only had two tables available at the time; ummm no you didn’t.
