Welcome to Market Place Kitchen & Bar! We are a new Modern American Restaurant in the heart of Avon, CT. We celebrate and encourage local, organic and sustainably harvested food and spirits. The interior of our space is compiled of sustainable and local materials, utilizing beautiful 300 year old barn wood from the Gurski Farm in Brookfield, CT.

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                        Apps and Entrees were generally good, but none of us really enjoyed the three different desserts (Chocolate Cake, Cheesecake, and Sticky Toffee Pudding) that we ordered. It took more than 20mins initially to a server to attend to us and never bothered to refill our waters after that. For $340+ check for 4 people we would expect a better service and food quality that that.

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                        We are regulars at the Market Place, and last night was yet another reason why we continue to return. It was a busy night, yet the wait and bar staff are personable and made time for a chat. The manager checks in to say hi and make sure everything is good. The swordfish special may have been the best special we have had there and would easily order that again (and again!). There is a mix of young and old, regulars and others that help to make a comfortable vibe there. For us, it is a great fit, and we look forward to date night at the Market Place!

We had salmon that was cooked perfectly and gnocchi with kale and sausage. Very nice salad to start. We only wished we had room for dessert.

The food is great. It's noisy enough that our daughter is not disrupting others, but not too noisy to converse. Reservations are a must. This is definitely a local favorite.

Beautiful, rustic decor. We were in Fireplace room. Quiet, nice. All of our choices were really good, although the gnocchi dish was very salty, probably from the sausage in the dish, which tasted great otherwise. Desserts were really good, big enough to share. Our server was great, and speed of service was relaxed, but not slow. I'd definitely recommend, and we'll be back
